Specialized Torch S-Works unboxing and first impressions

What a coincidence: right after cleaning my old S-Works shoes, I just got the new S-works shoes and here is the unboxing.

These are great shoes. I had doubts after wearing SW7 for years and the Ares for the past year. But these are way better than the 7’s. Whatever that shoe was missing, it’s all on the Torch. It doesn’t have that useless strap, which is a good thing.

@@AndreasIhm I think you will like them. I’ve only had them and ridden them for a week but no complaints so far. I especially like the wider toe box fit. I wear the same size in the SW7, ares and Torch.

How do you compare them to Ares?

@@Knud451 they are pretty good! I still like the ares if I want a shoe with more “lock down” fit. Once you tighten the boa dials. Your feet are pretty secure. Not saying the Torch aren’t. They are also.
The torch also seems like a more roomier toe box than the ares. Way more than the SW7. I’ve only wore the torch a handful of times. But it has it all from fit, function and comfortable. I pretty much wear the ares after every ride so lately the torch doesn’t have many miles on them.
I probably put in 2.5k miles on the team white color. They are now mostly brown lol.
They have been used so much that the boa dials don’t work good anymore so I emailed boa for a set of replacement ones since they are lifetime guarantee.
The ares has everything in a shoe for me so I wear those all the time.

Not too happy to hear about the BOAs though...
I only ride indoors so I can afford to go for white 😄
