    I thoroughly enjoyed your video. It was so informative and helpful! I do have a quick question. With regards to your favorite stand do you know if they have stationary ones that go on top of a desk. And if not, can you suggest a large frame that could go on a desktop? Thank you!

    Hey! I made that Kim Deihl quilt on the wall behind your LA. That was a really fun quilt to make. I'm in the process of building my new studio because my previous building burned down last month. So seeing other people’s studios is useful. My biggest problem is that if I can't see it, I don't own it. So I buy duplicates. I have to use ugly plastic containers so I can see what's in them.

    I loved watching your video and enjoyed learning about the Mark 2 floorstand. I think it would work very well for me but I need a magnifier with light in order to see my stitching. Do you have any idea of how those 2 would work together. I currently use an otto light magnified that sits in my lap.

    I’m so envious of your studio it looks great with everything so quickly available. Like most stitchers i’ve also tried every conceivable frame and recently bought a large floor frame from Amazon which I am unhappy with because it’s so fragile and the wood is poor. Yours looks so beautiful and well designed, Im going to show my husband in the hope that he can figure out a way for me to buy one without having to fill in numerous customs forms! I really want a good quality frame but embroidery doesn’t seem to be as popular in Europe anymore. Canada seems to be very well provided with stitching supplies. Best wishes and Happy New Year from Madeira Island 😊

    Evening, Christine... My Nana was very accomplished with these hooked wool rugs. She made some beautiful, intricate rugs. She made one that lived next to my bed as a youngster growing up, it was a train with my name "David" on the side of one of the boxcars. She was also a quilter, and her work was meticulous & amazing. I have a black & white photograph of her working on one of her rugs from about the mid-1930s. She even allowed me to sit with her and try my hand at a few "Hooks," oh - these are such memories! I'm probably too old now to think of trying this myself, but your work is beautiful and I've enjoyed watching this. Thank you for sharing!

      It’s not really going to grab the cloth well. There is a little spike that sinks in on an actual rug hook.

    I also do this same process! I am a quilter so I had already had fabric on the boards and utilized the same idea and clips for my cross stitching fabrics. I do like your storage and how you inventory, I have mine on the long side separated by counts and stored in those deep bin carts you get from big box stores. Looking for a better storage solution, and I like yours. How do you store the bins once full?

    Love all the family history. That too I love to know who i am related to too. :) I love all those samplers i know whom ever gets them shall appreciate them too. My brother is checking my ancestry too it is messed up lol it's a family thing, the one story you told about the young woman who had an affair that's what happened to my mom lol but sadly, her husband had it snipped down there she didn't know this, so he did not get her pregnant, I was the 4th child, so i was not his kid lol messed up long story. I don't have the same blood type of my brother and sisters, have one brother and two sisters, but one has passed away long while back sadly. I am still looking for my real father, lol. :) Love your embroidery projects you are soon to do shall come out beautiful, lovely. :) I too do cross stitch but i can't do designs with a book pattern, sadly i get headaches. :( But i found a satisfied form of my love for embroidery and cross stitch too. :) When hands hurt because of arthritis and other medical issues. I just outline some designs i buy iron on designs like Aunt Martha iron on designs so easy on embroidery i iron onto sheet edge at op or on to pillowcase or t- shirts, or Adia cloth 14 count easy on the eyes too. I let the embroidery design fall where it may on 14 count Adia cloth so easy, just pick my own floss colors make up as i see what colors catch my eyes and the mood i am in lol. :) I iron on to the warmed-up Adia cloth pin the design to it gently press down to make design print to stick to Adia cloth. :) I hope all goes well with your family ancestry i know that takes time that is why my brother is doing mine lol. I may be Patient but i get frustrated online stuff afraid I'll mess up lol. :( Just found you on UA-cam and added you too. :) I love you so cool and awesome your voice i could listen to long time so lovely. :) I take care of my veteran husband or i call him hubby lol. :) We both disabled and retire from working me forced by my body sadly hubby from heart operation and more eyes and ears going not good sadly. :( But we have our son who helps when he is not at work so thankful for him. :) My daughter off living in Hot Springs, Arkansas and grandkids rarely see. :( But when i do i taught first grandkid to crochet with a hook and to she had her mom teach her how to make cool friendship bracelet. people who need help. The second grand kid is becoming a nurse in training and the boy is helping build homes for the people who need a home great learning skills his is learning so proud of them all the first one is working at taco bell so far so well. :) Sorry so long i just had to share my story with you too. :) Oh, plus i do embroidery and cross stitch like i said. But also crochet granny squares is a passion of mine, i do a few things when hands let me and my body too. :) I made 100 granny squares baby blanket it measures 3 feet length and by 3 feet wide exactly. Plus, I make a granny square blanket keep going till i like the size lol. :) Hugs have a great year 2024 and 2025. :)

    Hello! I have looked back to FlossTube 7 when you first introduced your stitching of Quaker Handework, and I can't find the name and count of the linen. Also, did you do a floss conversion? If so, would you mind sharing the colors? Was it DMC? I have had the pattern for years because I love the design, but I just couldn't get turned on by the colors...until I saw yours. I would not use it for rug hooking. Since the scroll bars roll I would think the pressure of your hook would make it loosen up as you worked.

    Excellent presentation, thank you! I have a question about the metal stand: isn't its metal base supposed to fit under one of the armchair legs in order to be stable for larger frames? I'm thinking of purchasing one just for a larger frame, and I'm curious if it would have the same issues should it be pressed under the armchair's weight. Thank you again!

    • @mountaincraftsstudio
      @mountaincraftsstudio 7 місяців тому

      Hi. Yes, it is designed to go under the leg. My issue is that the rod comes loose from the base. So the base stays under the chair but everything else is moving around.

    I've enjoyed your video. I have a quilt from about 1890, I think, made by my great great grandmother. It is the Texas star pattern. Ted, blue (that has faded to green in places) and cream. It was inside a tied quilt that I took apart to put new batting in and have quilted...and this was inside. Much of the fabric has become thread bare. I did rebind it because the binding was gone and I was afraid it would fall apart more. It has cotton batting coming out in some places. I'd like to restore it...maybe put new pieces on top of old shattered ones? I'd sure like to see your next video.
