I have several appliqué quilts kitted up and waiting for me. For some reason I nearly have to be kicked into cutting those pieces out. Why do I do that? I love to actually stitch them.
@@mountaincraftsstudio they are just a bit intimidating maybe because so few of my quilting friends do applique? They certainly hit a different part of my brain than machine piecing or even hand paper piecing does, but like you I love doing the stitching so don’t know why I procrastinate on them. I need to watch that “applique is harder” self talk and just get on with them! Maybe they would jump back into the flow of projects if I had one sitting out? Hmmm, food for thought!

It's so hard to choose which project to stitch on, it would be easier without Flosstube but no way can I give this up! My hands are 63, like the rest of me and can only do so much. Hand quilting has gone by the wayside, still looking for a local long arm quilter. Agnes is keeping you busy thinking of safe ways to stitch.

I’m a quilter and a cross stitcher too! I have been working on a hexagon quilt with reproduction civil war fabric. But I also love other fabrics. Your blue and cream quilt is beautiful. I would like to stitch the Barres sampler too You have a great idea to break it done into 12 months. I think I could do that !

I simply love this quilt and yes, I found it to be a pattern challenge too. You have also inspired me to get my Mary Barres out again. Your quilts are beautiful!!! Love what you did with Lincolns Watch especially. Finishing up my first antique sampler and would love to join a sampler stitch a long with Mary Barres. I have 4 Hands Across the Sea that I should separate into 12 parts like you to work on. I used canned beet juice to give my white fabric a slight pink tinge for Elizabeth Weston, I think. I have taken to dyeing with whatever I have on hand. It's fun to experiment.

I have always admired the Mary Barres sampler but thought I would never get it finished. I love your idea of breaking it into sections. Your stitching box is beautiful! I would appreciate a tutorial on your painting technique.

I’m a quilter and a cross stitcher too! I have been working on a hexagon quilt with reproduction civil war fabric. But I also love other fabrics. Your blue and cream quilt is beautiful. I would like to stitch the Barres sampler too You have a great idea to break it done into 12 months. I think I could do that !

Loved this video! Your Rachelle quilt has inspired me to finally get my rows sewn together on mine and I hope to have it done by next week. I simply love this quilt and yes, I found it to be a pattern challenge too. You have also inspired me to get my Mary Barres out again. I have struggled with what count linen to go with; should I restart? Something to think about. And please count me in if you do a block exchange. Your flower pictures at the end were wonderful! Finishing up my first antique sampler and would love to join a sampler stitch a long with Mary Barres. I have 4 Hands Across the Sea that I should separate into 12 parts like you to work on. I used canned beet juice to give my white fabric a slight pink tinge for Elizabeth Weston, I think. I have taken to dyeing with whatever I have on hand. It's fun to experiment.
Dyeing can be an enormous rabbit hole to get lost in for years.

I love your box! I would love to see videos of your process if you do them. I am interested in starting that SAL of that Barres sampler. If the kit is available or if I can find the supplies I will do it. No LNS near me! I must say, that other piece with the bird is just beautiful. I sometimes miss a You Tube due to life schedules, but when time allows, I watch most of your videos.
