    i enjoy watching your videos...you have some great projects lined up for this year.
    Do you have a suggestion for reasonably priced wool for a floor loom? I have a 12 inch reed....no local yarn shops near me.... thank you and would love hearing more about your weaving experience.

      @mountaincraftsstudio  2 роки тому

      Hi Diane. I’m not sure reasonably prices wool exists. lol I’ve bought most of my weaving yarn online. Yarn Barn, The Woolery, Webs and Vavstuga are my go-to shops for cones. For rug warp I go to Great Northern Weaving. And Knit Picks is a great source for skeins of reasonably priced yarn.

    Thanks for a great video. I learned so much about threads disintegrating and it sure makes sense to me. I don't kit up projects either partly because of the cost involved and I really don't want a ton of skeins of floss hanging around for who knows how long for a project that may only need a tiny piece of that thread. I'd rather know what I have and where it is when I need a certain floss or fabric. Great "vague plans"...sounds like the best kind of plans. Happy stitching!

    Hello Christine! I just love the little sewing box you found. My husband and I just moved to northeastern Indiana 3 weeks ago. I look forward to exploring the antique shops in our area and making new friends. Thank you for sharing your love of stitching.

      Hi Beth. That area of Indiana is a good place for antique shopping. Shipshewana has a flea market during the summer that’s worth checking out.

    I just found your channel last weekend when Brenda & The Serial Starter recommended you! I'm so glad they did! I've been "binge watching" your channel all week (with my morning coffee) and have enjoyed every video! You are so right when you say "enjoy every moment...time is precious"! And, you have also reminded me that I have Anne Wright all kitted...and I really should start on it. Such a peaceful sampler... Thanks again for the notes on dye and how it deteriorates the fibers... I've always wondered why weeks dye works floss was a bit stiffer than dmc... lol!

    I am sure you will get done on more than you think! I am in your corner for not kitting up in advance. I enjoyed the knowledge you passed on about black threads and yarn. I am sticking that on my "hard drive" so I don't forget it. I cannot wait to see your box that you are building ...all varieties are to be enjoyed. Now to see if I can find the "stitchinginthegreenmountains" spot. I still haven't signed up for Instagram yet...but I hear it calling my name. Enjoyed every single moment today. Thank you so much for your time in UA-cam preps.

      Thanks. I like to be able to see what’s inside. I knit too and I’m forever opening bags to try to find the one I want. I need to figure out a clear option for knitting as well.

    That rag rug that you had to take apart is the type of rug I am interested in learning to make. Can you suggest a source for that information? I love your projects and colors. Thanks for sharing your work. Just found out about you from the Seattle Stitcher and am going through all your videos, something I don’t typically do. You have so much good information in your videos. Thanks again.

      Hi Allison,
      There is a book called the Rag Rug Handbook. It is the best resource for getting started. You might want to look at the Great Northern Weaving website for supplies. They have good prices on rug warp. Once you’ve checked those out you might want to move on to the video Weaving With Rags by Tom Knisely.

    Thank you for sharing your dreams for 2022. I whoheartedly agree with not putting pressure on yourself!!!!!! I have done way too much of that in my life. Sadly my sampler was destroyed in a house fire at my daughter’s several years ago. It was just an upper case alphabet in brightly colored wool. I talked a little more about it in my first episode and showed another small piece I still have.

    Thank you for your video. I don't kit up either until I am ready to stitch. Please talk a little bit more in coming videos about the embarrassment of using called-for colors. There might be other new-ish stitchers like myself that would like to understand more about that. Thank you!

    • @mountaincraftsstudio

      Hi Sarah, thanks for stopping by. I actually meant to say that the amount I had finished was embarrassing, not the colors. The colors are perfect. Sometimes my brain and my mouth don’t work well together. LOL

    I thought your explanation of the effects of dyes and mordant to be very informative. I don't know much about the dyeing process. I have been a quilter for many years, and some fabrics are more fragile than others. This is probably why. Thank you. I really am enjoying your channel.

    • @mountaincraftsstudio
      @mountaincraftsstudio  2 роки тому

      Thanks for stopping by. You are exactly right. Some fabric seems to last forever but others turn to dust.
