Hi Harley. You asked the owner of the Reliant Robin what are these like to drive ?. I thought the owner was going to say a bit of a worry. The Reliant Robin was never released here in NZ. We had the Reliant Scimitar in limited numbers. The Scimitar is certainly nothing like the Robin to look at. Good show , but to be honest I prefer the older timers. I have never seen a car like that little green one before either. It looked Japanese to me. Thank you Harley. From Carl.

A “SIX-PACK” is 3 2barrel carburetors in line. [ 6 barrels]. Great video. 📻🙂 DeTomaso partnered with FORD. So, they have Ford Engine, and were sold at [ select] Ford Dealerships in the U.S. [ I prefer the Mangusta best. It was earlier than the Pantera.]. 🙂

Hi Ive viewed a car channel called idriveaclassic on youtube. Its about an Australian 1970s Leyland P76. Thae cars were assembled and sold here in New Zealand back in the 1970s. I thought that you may be interested Harley in watching it. Its been recorded in Britain there. From Carl.

I hear on the grapevine, not saying where, you are leaving a certain car models photos and screensavers everywhere. Purely a coincidence I guess and absolutely nothing to do with your driving test next year April if my memory serves me correctly. Keep the videos coming.

Hi 👋 Harley. I was thinking its not a common sight seeing a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in red. Someome may have ordered it in that colour when it was built. I like the old 1930s Rolls , and the two tone colours suit it. Beautiful old Daimler there. But there is nothing like your favorite car Harley , the orange coloured Austin A35. It was good getting some background info about the lovely E - type Jaguar. Thanks from Carl in New Zealand.

I had an Austin A30 as my first car around 1958, It was, apparently, one of the first, an AS3 as I remember, with the fuel filler cap on the nearside rear wing. one wiper and other "cheepo" things. I knew nothing about this then and still don't. I'm afraid. I can't remember why I sold it but I bought a Standard 8 exactly the same as yours. I paid £30 for it and sold it quite a few years later for £35..The Standard was called "Chugger" by my two sons and often took 4 adults and 4 kids out on a Sunday.. My now ex wife used to use it daily to take the boys to school and go on to work. I hadn't been in Chugger for quite a while and one day when I came home from work she said "That lights been on where the speed thingy is". "Which one? I asked, Red or Orange". She didn't know so I went to look. It was the Orange Oil light and when I dipped it the stick could not have been more shiny if it had been brand new. When I asked how long the light had been on she replied "Oh! a couple of weeks now".was the reply. Topped it up at a local garage, no problems, and it took the 4+4 out again the following Sunday..It was a Terrific little motor but A Vauxhall Viva HA SL had caught my eye so I put the £35 i got for Chugger as a deposit on that. It was a good car but nowhere near as much fun as the Standard 8.

Thanks, i miss my GT, yes, much easier to slide behind the wheel than my "B"s. Alas, my garage is only so big, and i wouldnt do her the disservice of leaving it in the elements. Steve from USA

Paid a visit last week and learned the owner is retiring around October this year. So, if you were thinking of a visit, now maybe the time.

Harley, thanks for another great video. The 2 cars that especially stood out for me were the black Saab 96,beautiful and the Mazda RX3. A friend of mine had one years ago and I wonder if he still has it. It was such a cool car. On a side note, I noticed that you're getting very close to 3 thousand subs! When I started following the channel you were around a thousand!! Keep up the great work . I should've specified that my friend's car was the Mazda!.

Another first rate video Harley. I really do like to see the cars arriving and departing, it adds life to the cars being used rather than just being static objects.

What a great line up there Harley. I'd have to take away either of the 2 SAABs - I've had both a Bullnose 2 stroke 96 - my first car, and a 2 door 99. I've had 7 SAABs in total, the last one, a 900i, I had for 18 years - LOVE them ! Fantastic video as always Harley - thanks for all your hard work in compiling it for us. Take care 🙂

Hi 👋 Harley. Good car display. So many Triumph Stags and TR4 's . The Mazda RX 3 was a popular car for rallies in the early 1970s. I went and watched different stages of the NZ Heatway rally then. And a Mazda RX 3 won the event. Ford Escorts were good rally cars too. Your father always stands out in the background , because of his sun hat that he wears. The Morris 1100 was everywhere here in NZ in the 1960s. They were big sellers. I'm surprised there isn't more that turn up for car shows there. Thank you from Carl.

Thanks for the trip down memory Lane. I had a 1972 French Blue GT6 MK 3 for 60,000 miles over a cuppla years. I used it for work, driving regularly between London and Yorkshire. Since you asked...the rear suspension was as per Mk2, double wishbone, kind of! The top "wishbone" was the leaf spring clamped over the diff and in a bush at the top of the upright for the hub. The lower wishbone was much shorter between the bottom of the upright and the rear subframe. The rubber Rotax coupling in the half-shaft was there to deal with the change in length and angle between the hub and the diff as the suspension moved up and down. The gearbox had to come out through the car to do the clutch, and if you didn't put ALL the very many screws that held down the "cardboard" gearbox cover very carefully, the darn thing used to leak water in the wet!. It chewed up UJs regularly even if you drilled them and fitted grease nipples. I also had to replace the Rotax couplings once. Triumph Herald double-wishbone front suspension, of course..so a set of replacement trunnions always needed to be at hand! It had a pair of Stromberg carbs that were horrible 'kin things. And the viscous coupled fan died...so I replaced it with a pair of heater fans and a thermal switch under a head bolt (I think...). Without a capacitor-discharge box for the dizzy, it was a sod to start every time the weather forecast even mentioned rain....just like all other unsuspecting victims of Jo Lucas Prince of Darkness at the time. I loved my GT6; it was a lovely car, and herself loved it too! I wish I still had one! A cuppla my mates had Lotus Elans at the time.. used to have great fun keeping up with them around country lanes and roundabouts... I replaced it with an early Dolly Sprint, which, in my opinion, is the only real "sports car" Triumph ever built, notwithstanding the GT6. Why the TR7 was not GT6 styled with proper double-wishbone rear suspension and the Sprint 16V engine was a mystery to me...
