Enjoyed seeing your beautiful projects and hearing about your plans while I stitched today.
Love your progress on your wips. I am so sorry you had to go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Happy stitching!
You’re doing a great job! Going through all that hard to imagine. One day at a time… you’ll be back! I had foot surgery 8 months ago ( screw in broken bone). Now tendinitis in ankle. You’re an inspiration! Thank you Love all your projects… and I’m determined to get more starts now 😂 Looking forward to your next gloss tube 💙
Thank you so much. I have good days and bad and there's times I feel it is two steps forward, one step back. But at least I'm heading in the right direction. And I do think I'll be a better, more thoughtful runner, after this experience. I understand the frustration of tendonitis! I had it in my tib post prior to this injury and it took well over 9 months to clear up. Now my tib ant tendon is weaker from the surgery, I can feel the pain in the tib post starting again. Damn, its rough getting old, isn't it? Yes! Go the new starts! Just as I am a process runner, I am a process stitcher. The joy is in the journey, not crossing the finish line xx
So happy to see you!! You've had a bit ordeal and it's so understandable that it has hit your mentalbeing also! Hope you get the help to dealing with all of it and that you get your running in asap as safely as needed! Wonderful stitching and new starts! Some really huge!! (I'm like a max 400 w/h stitcher. ) The chart you made of the horse - wow!! Really liked it <3 Happy stitching and all the best to you <3
Thank you for your wonderful comment. I know we need adversity in life to make us stronger but that doesn't make it easier to get through knowing that?! I'm so glad you like the horse. I really enjoyed charting it and am quite inspired to do more. The next image I have is of a phoenix but I haven't quite got it right yet.
Hey Nancy, sorry things have been so tough. It seems like 2024 has been a forgettable year for so many of us. Bring on 2025.
Good to see you back. I love seeing all the wips and your love of new starts. I'm here for it all. Good luck with your rehab!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. There's more new starts to come! And I promise I won't take as long to record next time :)
So glad to see you again! & glad you’re recovering from your surgery. Go easy on yourself and hopefully you can get back to some form of running. At least you still have your stitching. I love the Carousel Horse and the snow globe horse!
You can never have enough horses, right? I definitely think Carousel Horse needs to be my next finish though. Its been way too long! Thank you so much for watching :)
I’m so glad you are on the mend. Mental health is so very important in improving one’s life and life decisions. I’m loving all the WIP’s you have and can’t wait to see how things progress. I’m glad you were able to receive the discontinued thread for your project. You know we are all here to help in any way we can. Happy Stitching 🧵🪡
Thank you for your wonderful comment. It's been a hard few months, but everything passes and I am so grateful to have got through. And the community is amazing - I can't say it enough. I feel blessed to be a part of it.
So great to see you again! Love the projects, especially the nostril, LOL. Sending healing thoughts your way.
Who knew I could be so proud of a nostril?! That project may never be finished, but at least I've made a good start. Thank you so much for your wishes and for watching.
Wow, so many projects. Great to see you're back. Hope your recovery continues to go well.
I love having so many WIPs. It genuinely makes me happy, which is why I keep starting things! thank you for watching and for your lovely comment.
Loving all your projects. With the Maxine Gadd, I would not take out the corner start, it's background nobody will ever notice if the stitches are not placed perfectly. Wait and see if the edges match and only frog what you need.
That's an excellent idea, thank you. The truth is, will I ever even get up there? Maybe, maybe not. I might just leave it and worry about it when I need to.
I'm so glad you were able to figure out the pain, but so sorry that it required surgery. Your post-op sounds like an equally difficult time. I absolutely get the "mental rehab" component of missing trails and running. Hang in there. You'll get through, and come out even stronger. In the meantime, thank goodness for ultra-stitching!
Thank you for your wonderful comment. And I take it that you also understand the joy of ultra running? It becomes such a fundamental part of your life, the loss and grief when it is taken away is almost unbearable. But I am slowly on the way back. Thank goodness for stitching indeed! To have the two passions is a life saver.
Trails are my happy place! 100k is my sweet spot for diatance, but I like to punish myself with 100M every few years or so. I joke that I just meander from buffet table to buffet table through the woods and over the mountains. 😂
@ me too!! I love the 100k. Although I did my first miler this year and loved that too. Want to try a 230k next, then a 200 miler. But my happiest place is the Backyard ultras… Where are you based?
@ So excited to meet another cross stitching ultra runner!! We’re a rare breed 😊
I'm Midwestern US. I tend to race close when the weather is good, and head southwest once our weather changes from snow to ice. Tarawera was my one international registration (2019), but I got really sick and couldn't travel. My husband grew up fell running in the UK as a lad, but is now a road racer. I'm slowly converting him to trail ultras!
Welcome back! Lovely WIPs and inventory. Sorry to learn about your pain. Many of us (I certainly) can appreciate the frustration of trying to find a diagnosis for the source of our pain. I wish you well on your journey of recovery. Take care.
Thank you for your lovely comment. It helps us to find strength we never knew we had, doesn't it?
So glad you are back! I'm so sorry you had to have surgery. I LOVE your rehab chart!
It's hilarious, isn't it?! It summed up what I was feeling perfectly.
So good to see you back! I'm so sorry for all that you've had to go through. I know how hard it is on a much more minor scale when you have an injury or pain and can't run. It really takes something away and can affect how I feel mentally. It's all I can focus on. You're doing the right thing though and giving it time to rest and regroup and recover. I know how hard that is though. Hang in there and you will get through! I'm so glad you're able to walk and start running again. Little by little! Happy stitching and sending positive thoughts your way!!
Thank you for your lovely comment. And yes, I know a fellow runner will understand. It has been one of the hardest periods of my life. Not being able to run is like being told you can no longer laugh or breathe. But I managed a very slow 5km this morning on the trails and for the first time since June felt real hope. Now, its trying not to think about where I was before and how far I have to go, but where I am now and how each day will get better.
Hi, New to Xstitch community but been stitching since the 80s - I have 2 skeins of 781 if you still need them 1 full and the other just has a tiny bit used so almost full if you still need them. Love the channel so a new subscriber
Wow, thank you for sharing, you have introduced me to some new designers and may be falling down a rabbit whole
I have just discovered that I'm a seasonal stitcher most of the time. I resorted all my many hundreds of charts, grouping those that are all kitted ready to go and the rest by season. Now, I am stitching summer- all those I started previously first. I've now completed 4 projects. I feel happy and enthused! Thanks to you I really changed how I was looking at how I was stitching. Once summer ends Labor Day- September, these unfinished projects go back into the Summer box and I open the Fall/ Halloween box. Thanks for adding more enjoyment to my stitching! You're the best!
Hello! I’m behind on flosstube and messaged you on IG. I have spare 781 if you’d like. Also, I didn’t realize you were stitching the 2x2 pattern. I am stitching it as well. Our look so different. Isn’t it awesome to see the same project in various ways? Chat soon! Elisa
I've never seen cross stitched covered buttons! What an adorable project.
Just found you. Love your progress on your wips. I hope you heal fast so you can keep running. Happy stitching!
Hi Nancy just found your channel so good to find another full coverage flosstube like myself in Australia just subscribed looking forward to your next video
Beautiful projects. Happy stitching
I just discovered your flosstube! Loved seeing your projects, especially the full coverage ones. Also it's great to hear that you are a runner. I enjoyed hearing the recaps about the races.
Hi, Nancy! I just came upon your channel and heard that you like (love) horses and HAED designs. Have you looked at Laurie Prindle's horse artwork? She loves her horses!!!!.. Also 123 Stitch has DMC color 781 available for purchase....And you love Marilyn Imblum pieces as well.... ... It's great to see your enthusiasm about all the patterns! I hope your injured (and sightly frost bitten) leg recovers quickly! I'm going to go and daydream about doing just the head and neck of Brutaliton one more time...He's a pegasus/horse and I want to capture his head Off I go,,,Again, I look forward to your nexr vlog ...
I also have 2 781 skiens if the other ones dont arrive!
Hi Nancy, so happy you popped back in and landed in my recommended flosstubes❤ Loving your cover photo so can't wait to see that. Carla is one of my very favorite and most respected needleworkers! Her WOW wall choices are phenomenal. I'll be 70 next year, have always loved needlework but boy has it ever changed. So many gorgeous designers❤ Aahhh Heaven & Earth, why am I not surprised. Makes me wish I commuted via train...my favorite trip ever was an overnight train trip during a full moon. Beautiful! I've already subscribed! Becci
Lovely to see you back. Hope you enjoy skiing with your kids. It is the best holiday!
Happy stitching 💜
I love your videos. I had a look for DMC 781. I don't have it, but I will ask around. Congratulations on your races. You are amazing. I am lucky to run 50 meters, never mind for 24 hours.
Wonderful to see you again! I really enjoy your channel ❤ Take care!
Because I never take you to the snaps I always forget where the top is. Now just clip a note into the clamps that says top. I mean...😅
Great idea! I’m just so afraid I’ll get it wrong and start stitching off in the wrong direction 🤣
I do enjoy your videos so much. My husband enjoys running and I like to do ,y best to support his group as they prepare for the races so I enjoy your chatting about running too. No he does not go longer than a marathon. 🦉🌞
A marathon is still a huge race! I’m just at the next level of crazy but it’s all pretty much the same. I can’t figure out if I’m more obsessed with running it with cross stitch? It would be a very close call 🤣
I can help you out with your floss problem 781. I sent you a instagram message. I have 5 skeins. I love all your projects and hearing about your running. I could never do that kind of long distance, maybe on a 10/12 speed bike. Happy stitching.
Congratulations 🎉on your running
Glad found your channel thank you for sharing and happy stitching 🧵
I have 2 bobbins of DMC 781,if you send me your mailing address I will mail it to you tomorrow
Would you?! OMG, thank you so much ❤ Can I email you my address? If you send me an email I can message back. I am so grateful - I know the colours are so similar, but the fact it’s specifically asked for both ways to me there’s enough of a difference to matter.
I sure do love library book sales. I can't recall a church book sale but I would love that one! I will probably be adding the Yiddish Policemen's Union to my audiobook list. (btw, I also did a 3 hour commute for 8 years from southern CT to northern RI and my circ desk/cataloger pay was just not worth the hell anymore.) Thanks for a book haul video!
Hi Nancy I love your craziness. I'll turn 52 by the end of year, too late for me 😅 You could perhaps switch to Anchor 308 instead DMC 781 (782 = 307, 783 = 306). Congrats for the 1k subscribers
Thank you so much for the advice. Anchor is prettt difficult to get here - not impossible though. I do have a shoebox full of Anchor skeins, but nothing like that one. Of course, right? Thank you so much for watching 😊
@@bohemianstitchery1411I have one skein of 781. Happy to send it
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe thank you so much for your wonderful offer. I’ve had a couple of others also offer so you hold on to yours - you never know when you might need it. 😍
Grats on 1K subscribers! The horse pattern you got from Karla makes me think of The Black Stallion books by Walter Farley.
Me too - I loved the books just as I adore that pattern. I can never have enough cats or horses.
@@bohemianstitchery1411 me either.
Great video. Enjoyed.
Grats on finishing Ole Smokey! I admire your ambition in starting all these large full coverage pieces.
Ps: love your new Marchetti, the Christensen chart, and your Flinders trophies. Nice work! Good luck with the injury. And congrats on 1000. ❤
I’ve also just started using MarkUp. Can’t say I love it but it does seem handy for tricky charts, including those on paper. I just took my chart into Officeworks and asked them to scan it. That’s said, I discovered that their default is low res, not high res, so next time I’ll know better. Meanwhile, a question. How does one find out about stitchy games? I’m not on FB (and not even stitching will get me there), so I was interested when you mentioned Discord.
The number of people that put their hearts into working to create the kits, fabrics even the threads. The number of people that would cherish even one beautiful kit to do. 😖
The balloons pop on your fabric. Love it. I love all of your WIPs. Love your finish. Love Big Betty and look forward to your progress. You love to run. When I was younger, I used to run. My knees bother me so now I walk. Good luck with your races.
Hi I am a new subscriber. I found you after Microbiologistmakes floss tube recommended you on her last video. Good luck on your run. Love big Betty.
Wow! I'm amazed at your stitching and running! Happy stitching 💜
Super update, I’m dizzy thinking of 50 starts 😵💫 Good luck with the running 🏃 😀
Love your finish! And your new train piece.
