    Great vid. Chopper definitely has more definition in all gain phases I would say cause of clearer high end. If you want a tele on steroids, you surely don’t want a full size humbucker sound?? 500k pots vs 250 is a nice touch also. Good job. Check your tuning though!

    Hi Alexis! Please help me decide for my L7 (mahogany body). Need to cheange the bridge, I’m not sure what to pair with the Blues Engine. I’m undecided between another Blues Engine, the Rolling Mill, or the RM Overwound. I play Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi. Thanks a lot!

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars 14 днів тому

      Hi mate, I really like the blues Engine bridge. I enjoyed the tones from the OW RM in one of my guitars which tends to be pretty bright anyway, in another darker guitar of mine it was too dark. Blues Engine would be my choice. I don't want to tell you what to buy, though! Enjoy the tones :)

    You may wish to do a bit more sanding before applying the finish. There were definite rasp marks on the side, suggesting that you may have started to run before you were walking on this project. It's difficult to see such marks when the wood is dry, but just run a damp cloth over it and you'll be surprised how many mistakes suddenly become apparent. Learning by doing is my motto.

    I see you also have the crayon. Do you use it to boost the glove or vice versa? Did you have the chance to compare the ehx hot tubes?

    • @AlexisGuitars
      @AlexisGuitars 2 місяці тому

      Hi mate, I normally use the crayon on its own actually. If I'd use it as a boost, it would be before the glove, though, as I prefer tone shaping low gain pedals before the main gain pedal (which for me would be the glove in this case). I don't have a hot tubes unfortunately, and I don't have time at the moment for new videos, but I'm hoping to get back into it again...at some stage! Thanks for watching!

    I saw a band called Signals Midwest a few months back and I would habe bet money he was using the Marshall JCM 800 that was on the stage, After the show i asked him if he was using thr Marshall and he got really happy and said "no check this out", he started scrolling through his phone to find the picture of his pedal board which had this as the amp. I was totally surprised to see that as his amp but it sounded really good.

    The issue with basing fret leveling on a few frets via fret rocker, is it only checks to see if those few frets are level to the same plane. This plane doesn't necessarily represent the span of the neck. I've been able to check an entire neck with a fret rocker, but it's a different story when you put a notched straight edge over most of the frets.
