It should flicker before settling in, my room environment could be different, several hours you will know, otherwise, clean it up, scratch the contact pad surfaces slightly and reapply

After it fully dried it looked great. But after a few minuts I get the flicker issue. I'll open it up later and press on the contacts with my finger nail as you said earlier :)) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Or is there a new method to stop the flickering?

@@FearBoo If it doesn't work out, you can find a phone repair shop and ask them to bridge those 2 contacts lol, they shouldnt charge more than $5 if they are honest but I think scraping the contacts with a screw driver, should help with the second application, i should have thought of it when i made the video.

@@TotalKommando i have a soldering kit, but im terrible at it, especially when it's that small. So for the second application, should I scratch the contacts themselves or scratch between them ?

@@FearBoo The contacts themselves, the idea is so it can create micro groves with more surface area for the solder paste to bite into. If you want to try soldering, flux and a thin wire where you solder the tip of it to the one contact, then you solder right where it reaches the next pad (which is like 1mm or something) then you wiggle it till it breaks off.

There is no IPS for the 3000, only the 1000 & E1000 Street model as I have indicated in the intro. That is a link to a good quality (from my experience) screen replacement only.

Or salvage some old wireless card antenna wire cable from an old laptop.

True thats also an option, extra wire to run back down

LED could be burnt out or broken or the solder points went bad, could fix it with a replacement power switch board

@TotalKommando I've never really given any attention much to the led. Isn't that the same LED that turns green when the power is switched on? Well it still turns green but it's not turning on when it's time to indicate charging

@@Anthony-pe7zz nope its actually dual color led with 3 pins, so the charging color is actually is separate, one green one orange

@TotalKommando btw, since I bought it used, I wonder about how much life is left in it. The main battery is easy enough to replace, but do I have to worry about any internal capacitors or internal battery failing and causing the device to be completely unusable? The device can't hold the date and time without a charge from the replaceable battery, but I'm not worried about this. What do you suppose will fail? I don't use the disc drive

@Anthony-pe7zz Nothing to worry about, just use it as it is, the time thing is common, there is a clock super capacitor thats responsible for the time, and can be removed or replaced to stop possible problems if they ever occur.

@TotalKommando I did watch the disassembly video, but I am currently in the process of shell swapping, and it sure does need a lot of elbow grease. That is why I was hoping you would show in this video a step-by-step guide of how you did everything. I am stuck on the power switch side. I have a Dremel, and it is coming in handy, but I am not sure if I should remove some material.

@@MrAnthony992 Is yours the 2 piece or 1 piece, is the problem it not sliding smoothly? i wouldn't use a Dremel on it, instead a file or sandpaper

@TotalKommando What do you mean by "1 or 2 pieces"? The aftermarket power switch slider is completely different from the OEM. So, I had to change the whole silver side containing the power slider. Otherwise, the circuit board with the switch wouldn't fit. I ended up removing some material from the shell frame. The attachment I have on my Dremel is the flex shaft, and on it, I have a spiral router bit as thin as the lead from a mechanical pencil. I keep the speed low for better control. Makes it easier and faster to remove unwanted material. I still do use a mini file and sand paper for better finish, though.

​@@MrAnthony992 Some of the switches come in 2 parts like in the video, some come like the oem 1 part, sometimes I cut material, remove the guides and what not, just to have the power switch slide freely even if a little bit loose. Its all about how satisfied you want to be, its really a time consuming process.

I agree, terrible way to do it but I do it occasionally, and only with soft easy wires.

Be not afraid of the spicy pillows, my take on these is that these lithium batteries are always going to be consumable, they dont last forever, so enjoy them as you like. If you want to preserve them for as long as possible the common method is to not fully drain it or full charge it. Sitting between 15-85%. Other than that, we got no proof of which charging method is good, but if we were to assume, sony will probably be our best bet, at some point I'll have to get an oscilloscope, learn to use it and see which one gives the cleanest charging current.

Format the memory card in the psp if you dont already have the folder structure, copy it to your pc, format on your pc with a card reader to FAT32 64K cluster, finally copy your files/folders back to it for the optimal performance.

Hey thanks, If you hold your umd door closed shut with your hand as its spins, does it read properly? As for the rails being bent is ok, you can bend them back if you want, but they should interfere unless they are bent inwards, possibly misaligning the UMD. As for the door not closing properly because of the spring, I would need to see what it looks like, perhaps you need to take it apart and reinsert the latch or swap the OG with the Aftermarket or aftermarket with the OG.

@@TotalKommando Well the disc reader now works properly, I didn't need to even hold it down. It was either the ribbon cable wasn't fully inserted properly or the rail that was slightly bent was interfering, one problem sorted. Phew. The door spring however is still snapping when the door is fully opened, the spring still jumps instead of a smooth motion, pushing the door into a position where it wont close. should preface I am using my original shell again as the aftermarket one felt awful and wouldn't even close properly, I have swapped out the springs with og and third party but they all snap near the end of the turn. Really kinda stumped on this one. Edit: will mention too, a very small piece of the shell that clipped against the block that held the spring in place snapped off, that broken bit "could" be the reason the spring jumps but I'm guessing at this point. Regardless, I appreciate you taking the time a try and help.

Also, obviously I am not going to be using all of the 512 gb storage. If I were to only use 128 gb storage on the 512 gb sd card would that work?

In the video I mention that if you use a card larger than 128gb with these adapters, you will end up getting less usable space, and corruption will happen around the 100 gb mark, your milage may vary.
