Just purchased a psp 1000 white , it comes in the value pack box with instruction manual, headphones, charger, psp pouch, and a 32 mb card. For $110 plus the $10 tax. It should be here in about a week or two, it looks in pretty good condition and the description did say it was the actual item and was tested . I’m half way through the video but seems like I chose a good one.
Felt lucky to find a PSP 2000 from Japan that was essentially untouched, came in a value pack that had a memory card, carrying case, wrist strap, and an RF connector for TV displays. Bronze color, had no battery but finding a replacement was easy enough (thanks to your vid) and went for $200 before shipping.
I got a psp for a fixer and it’s alright I got it for 22 pounds and it basically doesn’t read the micro sd to psp card but that doesn’t mind honestly hits different at night ngl

I just picked up a PSP3000, and it's been a trip down memory lane. Instead of spending tons on games like I did back then, the ARK-4 mod lets me load all my favorite titles onto a memory card, which is a game-changer.
Got a psp 1000 model today with charger and memory card and adapter for $104 good condition other then the small cleaning i gave it and man can't tell u how much I miss this system.
I was looking for a Monster Hunter edition PSP and I noticed the media buttons icons looked different, and the picture this seller had for the listing was the exact picture you showed on this video, from a different seller, lol. These are re-shelled, and not even the buttons are original either! I just found it so crazy how none of these sellers mention these PSPs are re-shells or refurbished or have no original parts. And all of this came like a shock to me since I'm only used to buying Nintendo consoles like the 3DS, and you don't really see fake shells unless you go to aliexpress or something. Its crazy
Lots of PSP scalpers and scammers out there, charging a pretty penny for a resell, I got a video about the MH shells comparing the Original with the Aftermarket ones if are interested.
I got my white/blue psp 3000 from a seller on ebay from Japan for $60 it was a system only. Works like new. Good condition umd drive works well no issues I like my psp alot it was bought as of July 2022. Best regards Nikita.K
That’s what I seem to conclude with these Japanese sellers. They “ship within 5-10 days after payment clears” = we put up a listing that we don’t have on hand and will spend that time looking for one in our local area. Only if when the promised ship time passes 10 days, they then message you apologizing that their domestic stores that had said listing was sold on the same day you purchased the listed item.

In the video you mentions the paint will flake off if you don't take care of it. do have any tips for keeping the paint in good condition? I love your videos and all you do for the psp community.
I have only noticed it on certain models, like the red on black and blue mix ones. Never seen it on the piano black, I don't think you got much to worry about, it probably only happens from extreme flex or heavy impact. Thanks : )

Sorry I wasn't aware of how prominent this actually was on the 3000 models. One thing you could possibly do that might work if yours is currently in good condition, is to teardown the shell into just plastic, and hit it with car clear coat to seal everything in, only lay the psp down on a soft surface, and use a soft pouch for storage
I just scored a green psp 3000 for 83 bucks, came with winning eleven soccer and a usb charger, didnt know they even make those for psp, it didnt work at first but i just swapped the battery and it booted up, cleanest thing i ever got, yes its japanese, but i rather get one of these than fork out 200 bucks for an american one.

Shortest answer is, PSP 1000 for the best upgrade path (mainly a bright crispy IPS screen) PSP 3000 for the best ready to go experience, as long as its in a good condition and the screen is also in a good condition (has the best shell replacement options if you wanna do that) You can watch my IPS screen video, i go into detail about how it compares
etsy is cool, but I find them to be over priced, I cant speak about the quality and cleanness of the work, so if you got the money to splurge on a premoded psp, go ahead otherwise I would stick with working on a project psp instead, I may cover etsy psp stuff at some point in the future

Had to get a psp 3000 so I can connect it to my ps3 because you cant with the 1000s. I like orange but they dont have them and decided on purple and got the hannah montana one. It looked good condition and I assume it would have been kept in better conditions if owned by a girl over a boy. They go for a lot more than normal but Im betting/investing on it working forever or at least longer than a frankenportable from japan. It cost between $150-$200 canadian vs the $80-$120 CAD ones from japan, and I know the purple one works with all NA UMDs so I "overpaid" but in reality lots f people have been buying them for $200+ from what Ive seen.

Nothing wrong with a japanese unit, you can change the interface langauge in settings and once you mod it, you can make it any region you want
