Thanks for the video. I used a thick rubber tap washer which was placed between the spring and the metal washer that makes the ratling noise. That did the job and completely stopped the noise. To put the rubber washer I had to cut in radial direction from the edge to the hole at the center. Once placed through this cut on the rivet bolt it stayed securely there - for many years so, which may not be the case for the tape as the glue on its surface will finally dry out.
Brilliant! I bought a desk with these legs a few days ago and once assembled it rattled so much it almost seemed like it was going to be unusable because even with the slightest movement the rattling sound was really noticeable. Because of your solution, I can't hear the legs rattle even a little...amazing! You clearly put a fair amount of time and effort into resolving this really annoying issue and for that I'm extremely grateful...thank you!
@@AmaraQuest They do hold the weight just fine, if anything they are better with more weight. After using the fix described in the video they perform ok and do not rattle.
Olov sounds perfect but I'm a bit worried about the load capacity of those legs. They are rated at only 13kg (28lbs) per leg - that doesn't sound like an awful lot to me. No idea how much exactly my 150x90cm tabletop weighs, but ChatGPT guesstimates about 30kg, then ca. 25kg for my display and desk setup - so I'm basically over the limit already. Would I now have to worry the thing collapses when I lean on it or the legs give out with time and my setup comes crashing down at some point? Kinda scarry. Otherwise those legs sound perfect...
- One time I had a 2 meter long tabletop loaded with 3 monitors and a heavy pc with only 4 legs. - Few days ago I stood one corner of an OLOV table, to adjust the AC vent direction. I weigh 95KG and both the leg and I survived.
@@TotalKommando thanks! So weird they state it as just 13kg in the product description. Maybe a way to deflect accountability if something breaks, but still odd.
I have these legs and they don't make noise because I have the table in the center with a bracket screwed to the wall. What I would like to know is that at one end just below the 2 legs, I have a PC that weighs more than 25 kilos. do you think something will happen? In the papers it says that it only holds 13 kilos and it has been recently, right?
I'm watching this at 4:27am and I don't even have these legs
lol same
well if you ever get so you’ll know what to do 😂

Glad I can help out : )
Thank you dude. I've had these legs for years and they just randomly started rattling today. The electric tape on the washer part fixed it entirely.
Fixed my issue. Thanks! Was very annoying to hear it rattle at the slightest touch.
I don't have this table but this guy is a genius. Hire him Ikea
My leg doesn’t screw at all it’s so annoying because now my desk is dangerously wobbly
Yup just bought these legs and thought; wow this is junk. Turns they just are, thanks for confirming.
do they hold the weight of 2 monitors? or will they sink?

You never told us how to get that spring loaded bit of the leg out? Please help
If you tighten the legs too tight, they rattle. Back off the tension a little and there’s way less rattle. They are still unstable and wobbly though.
Do you work with such wobly table?
How did you handle the very bad jiggle when you move the table ?
I can’t even write on it because it wobbles too much

the fact that this is still a problem two years later is completely absurd
lol ikea products are a time capsule
I was interested in buying this as a high dining table... would you recommend it?
If the top is big and heavish and you think it will stay balanced and not easily knocked around then yes. It will make for a decent solution
Will this olov leg sink it self slowly overtime?
how much weight can these legs take?
It rattles when nothing heavy on it, what about putting a 34in monitor on it? Will it collapse?
Nope, it will be fine, I had 2 x 27" + a heavy pc, you can jump on it and be fine.
Thank you so much!
Im so happy for this video thank U so mutch ♡
straight to the point
Bruh thank u I was about to solder the washer to the spring 😂
Thank you for the vid! No rattle at all now. Now I just have to work out how to lock them in place! Lol * face palm
THANK YOUUUUU
Ikea really dropped the ball with the Olov legs.
От души, брат.
OH MY FRICKING GOD THANK YOU OH FUCK
👍👏
Not hard to left little words on the instructions 😂 Just keep turning
don't be engineering and use Self Drill Screw
