Your channel is god tier for PSP modding. I used your IPS screen video to install one on mine succesfully and recently used this video to solder 4 white LEDs to my PSP and it went off without a hitch! I still can't believe I pulled it off. This is like a childhood dream come true.
I would love to see how it turned out, perhaps post it on the #showcase channel on the discord, plan to eventually feature viewer's moded psp in a future video : )
@@TotalKommando I came across your old channel from 08’ pretty awesome to see the progress. I do have a question tho, in your old video I noticed when you powered the PSP on, it made a noise saying “PlayStation Portable”. Was this the original startup or a mod? Next i would love to see a speaker upgrade mod, i have a psp 3000 inwant to use exclusively as a mp3 player with leds and a good bass speaker instead of the umd drive which is busted anyway. Theres alot of lil videos of showoffs with such a mod but they dont say how to wire or find the parts with the right measurements 😢

This video honestly made me more confused then before i watched it lol. At 3:51 you say bend one side of the led and wrap it. Well does it matter what wire from the led it is? isn't one positive and the other negative? also what do you do with the other cable on the led? just let it dangle freely?
once im done testing the various shells out there ( i got a whole box filled with them for all models ) I will make an updates shell guide on the good the bad and mods you have to do to make them work well
I don't, most of the people who do sell those are on etsy but they charge too much ( understandable ) But its more way more fun and satisfying when you do it yourself, which is why I'm here : )
Hello. I am trying to use the WLAN switch to control the LEDs. For some reason they are on and not sound reactive if I connect the negative wire to the switch GND instead of using the speaker GND. Any idea why?
Hey, as far as I know / remember, no one has done wifi switch reactive leds. I dont think it will work, without intrusive mods, best to add a second switch, which is what i plan to do when i revisit this.
And also i couldn't help but notice the "experimental psp" with the pluggin that shows the battery procentage. I tried multiple plugins for that matter but with it showing only like 80%, or 90%. Can you kindly link the pluggin download page?
PSP's battery percentage indicator is never accurate, it can get stuck and all of a sudden drop, its all pulling from the same place the battery settings have it You can try dayviewer the one i was using i think was called HUD I mention later in this video what happens when you mute on different models
@@joshualewis8077 If the memory card is not reading, it could be dirty or corroded and might need some cleaning, a cheap quick way is to use 99.9% isopropyl, spray the slot and reinstert the memory card a couple times to try and move the dirt around, otherwise it would be best to take it apart and see whats going on. As for the wifi, if it has been opened before, someone might have broken the switch.
@@TotalKommando Thanks. Definitely going to do this. Just waiting for the shell to come so I can do everything. (Took a risk and bought a 3000 shell for my 2000)
You just solder directly to the contacts instead of wrapping the cable, there is no polarity requirement. 10:10 I show how I routed the cables after I soldered them directly to the 2 contacts.

Finally a more non conventional mod i cant find a tutorial of online thanks
Thanks for posting this. I was wondering how you did the mod! Just orders a set of LEDs to try it out on my own PSP2000.
You really are killing it at PSP customization😮💨, it’s been so fun/entertaining watching ur videos! Insane how there’s barely any talk about these.
Thanks, been wanting to do this since 2008 lol

No polarity requirements, 4:32 I show how you connect them, one wire to one side and same with the other. It's very simple.
