@raaaayli look I'm gonna be honest if you ride XC for 80% of the time, this bike is not going to feel great, it's such a long stable bike - its so good for that other 20% but definitely not for XC. I ride like 70% park and shed and 30% XC so it works for me but I know it's a hog on mellow singletrack. It'll work but you'll probably want a faster bike tbh.

@ajabuell yeah the gravel roads get rough. We stayed on the "new side," so we just shuttled up hamburg road over and over. The steep side would be a bit tricky to get a uhaul up.

That's a good question! Since I didn't get this one straight out of the box I honestly don't know how they come. I'd love to assume they come set up tubeless.

@ThePlantPoweredPantry they're honestly a lot bigger, but once you feel comfortable on gin I think you'll do just fine on hooch!

@Embrace-Minimalism this would be a GREAT bike for a young teenager. The air fork will make it so as he grows he'll be able to add more pressure to support his weight as well.

@VinnieCeeBiking honestly I picked up one of the many $30 sets from Amazon- they'll usually come with ND8, 12, 16 and 32 lenses for all the variation in lighting you may need.

@Nomad-MTB personal preference may come into play more here but I'd go 160. 10mm won't make you any slower on climbs but may bail you out a bit more on chunk.

@HIONMTB haha all good dude, I wanna hit western slopes so bad! Maybe next season, this year we've got some big things in the works!

I highly recommend it. They do a really great job with the shuttle. There's a paramedic. With the right navigation you can take laps that last 2hrs plus. I have a list of 5 shuttle laps that I would run regularly (before I got neck surgery last summer). It's steep, it's rocky, it's bumpy and the people that ride there are a lot of fun. 5 double black diamonds blind in 1 day is personal best there. I hope you make it a priority...that's a day on a bike you will never forget 🤠😉

@@splooshmtb Agreed, to each their own but the problem is that when someone else has a loud hub, THEY might love it but they are bothering a lot of other people in the process who are also using the trails.

@Fastblack83 the 15 is going to be a better climber. X01 on the Evo really isn't THAT big of a performance upgrade, specially when being compared to transmission. That being said, saving $2500 for a bike that is going to only lose marginal gains sounds really good to me.

@@splooshmtb Thanks! I'm in Arizona, and having a tough time deciding! I ride in the summer here, and sadly, nobody demos here, so I can't get on much until october or so. I got on a switchblade, and enjoyed that, but I think I prefer longer chainstays on the stumpjumper to help keep the front end down on steep seated climbs.

@markfournette2483 I think this one's a bit better, in my opinion. If you're comfortable on black rated jump lines this one can be way more fun. If you're more of a blue jumper, rivers edge may be the better call!

I basically have the bike fully slacked out so it's super stable at the bike park, in the off season I'll steep it back in a bit... but the slack HTA saved me from going OTB there for sure🫣 And yes I think you're ready for Hooch dude! Upper empire at Blue is just as good now with their even bigger drop.

@mrh372 it IS hard dude! I've only gotten it a handful of times, myself. But you really gotta stiffen up the suspension for it, so you don't bottom out going up the face
