i went here this past weekend it was a blast. saw your video from massanuten posting it on their instagram. insanely high quality vid and underrated channel
Great video Zane! OMG I remember how slow those lifts were, my buddy literality out rode us climbing on his bike, lol. Having said that, it looks like they have done a lot to improve the trails since I was there 5 years ago. You and your boys were killing it! Great job on World Cup, that was one of my favorites when I was there.
@@splooshmtb They're okay, depends on how much snow falls, otherwise, they're terribly icy most of the season. I don't bike, but I would say I think the bike trails are probably better than the ski trails.
You guys made the MOST of those trails! We were there years ago and the trails look to be in much better shape. Surprised you like this more than Bryce... I haven't been to Bryce since they put in Hooch. Is it too big or is "Creamy" trail just that good?
Thanks Dan! Look I love Hooch, and it still has the biggest jumps and drops on a trail that I've ever seen... But with triple the elevation and probably triple the amount of jumps, Creamy was just a party train. The jumps are also all so comfortable and boostable, only like 1 or 2 that you need to scrub. All in all, really tough to say which jump line I like more.
@@splooshmtb These videos make me want to bike, its just my knees are so bad from skateboarding and other sports. The motion of riding a bike kills me :(
@alexthemoonsloth dude! What we're doing here requires 0 pedaling. We take a ski lift up and rip down. With lots of suspension, biking is WAY lower impact than running and other sports. It's the climbing up hill that we do, often, that'll be no good for your knees :/
I hit Bryce, Cacapon, and the Watershed last week. Don’t get me wrong Bryce was awesome and I really improved my skills but I kinda wish I would have driven the extra 30min to Massanutten. Oh well guess I gotta go at some point this summer lol. Also, I’m a new subscriber so you may have already been to Cacapon - but holy crap is it awesome. Especially when the LBS has a shuttle to the top! Though I am moving to Raleigh NC in 8 weeks so I’ll be hitting all the Pisgah, Asheville, Old Fort goods this fall!
Heck yeah dude I remember you saying you had this big weekend coming up, on the last vid. Honestly I love Bryce but Mass really does 1 up it everywhere. And with triple the elevation gain! I need to get out to cacapon this year for sure. Weirdly enough I also have a few videos from popular spots in Raleigh like Lake Crabtree!
@@splooshmtb your Raleigh vids are actually how I found the your channel! Don’t get me wrong Bryce was awesome and I made some huge progressions and hit my first real gap jumps there. But that tech gnar as Mass looks awesome.
@joelankeny6277 hah sick! I need to get out there soon and go to San Lee gravity park. Yeah if you want real tech, mass is definitely the move, that tech was so good!
Idk if you’ve ever been to the Asheville & surrounding areas before but man, you’re gonna have a freakin blast. I went last year for the first time and literally contemplated dropping everything and moving there 😂
@@PlayGamesRideBikes went to Brevard when I VERY FIRST started getting into MTB. Hit Kanuga, and contemplated the same thing on my XC hardtail😂 heading back out there this fall!
@JeffMTBinVA thanks dude, you're gonna have a blast! Well, since the fox ones screw into the fork lowers, those straps snapped from the weight of the bike coming down on it once the bike left the ground, not ideal, I had to fix it every single time we got off the lift so it didn't rattle. But I'm still running it and it's "fine" just damaged
This place looks epic! Sploosh what do you normally run in terms of tire pressure? Also, I take it you are exclusively running flat pedals versus clipless, right?
This place is definitely very epic! Normally I run 26/28 front/rear. This is my first time on specialized tires versus Maxxis and so far I have no complaints at those pressures! And yessir flats for life!
@robscherer believe it or not this is just raw gopro audio with a windscreen cover. I do some post-processing cleaning of the audio but nothing fancy! Every time I tried going mic/media mod I didn't like how much unwanted sniffles it picks up😂
I apologize. I was trying to pay you a compliment and point you to a fun place to check out that you're already going near. I didn't mean to sound like a jerk. I appreciate your progress and I was hoping to be helpful. My bad. Ride safe
@@splooshmtb I was just joshing you about riding some really steep and scary western slope massenutten shuttle runs on more tech oriented trails. You do good work.
I highly recommend it. They do a really great job with the shuttle. There's a paramedic. With the right navigation you can take laps that last 2hrs plus. I have a list of 5 shuttle laps that I would run regularly (before I got neck surgery last summer). It's steep, it's rocky, it's bumpy and the people that ride there are a lot of fun. 5 double black diamonds blind in 1 day is personal best there. I hope you make it a priority...that's a day on a bike you will never forget 🤠😉
Snowshoe is on the menu for this year. I haven't been yet but considering this park has 5 trails and snowshoe has....a lot more. I'd say SS would be better. But these 5 trails are really very fun.
@@splooshmtb right on buddy nice riding btw. I usually ride snowshoe and Windrock down in Tennessee and both are worth the trip! I may check out massanutten this summer, thanks for the vid!
@ohgeebobby511 kinda depends. There's only 5 trails from the top, however, triple the elevation and the trails are built a bit better. Way more doubles, side hits, options, and REAL TECH. Personally I like this more.

Thanks Sage! That's some half decent tech for being 2.5 hours away! Yeah that upper lift is so fast it makes up for the lower lift by a lot lol.
Can't wait to hit this one up! So glad it's on the loam pass!
I just learned about this, this might be the move for next season!
Great video! this is my local park and love to see people like you enjoying it!
