The History of Edie Sedgwick & Inspired Look
My favorite album is Revolver and my favorite song on that album is Tomorrow Never Knows because it just sweeps you away to another world of pure peace and infinite tranquility. My favorite movie is A Hard Day's Night because it's so funny.
😊
As you say, these questions are impossible to answer and the answers could be different tomorrow. But anyway: First Beatles song you heard? She Loves You is the first I can pinpoint. I was born in 1961, so they were around when I was a toddler, so I can't be sure. First Beatles album you bought? The Red and the Blue, like most non first generation fans did in the 70's. Favourite Beatle? Paul McCartney. Favourite dressed Beatle? Ringo. Favourite Beatles film? A Hard Day's Night. Favourite Beatles song? Hey Jude. Favourite lead vocal Lennon Beatles song? Ticket to Ride. Favourite lead vocal Harrison Beatles song? Something. Favourite lead vocal Ringo Beatles song? Don't Pass Me By. I know most people dislike this song, but I love it. Favourite lead vocal McCartney Beatles song? Excluding Hey Jude, - Helter Skelter. Favourite Beatles album? A Hard Day's Night.
A Hard day's night film was what hooked me into The Beatles. All these years later, they're still the greatest thing ever.
John sang Hey Good Lookin' and Tennessee during the Get Back sessions. They aren't on any official album but I have a bootleg that has them.
I really enjoy your content and hope you please please visit and join the playhouse. Love ringos look up!
@@UnclePaulsBeatlesPopPlayhouse Thank you!
@chlozycat6506 hope you like mine and join! Cheers from the playhouse!
That was great! Short and concise. Although I could hear the influence and knew that the C&W artists you mentioned had written some of the songs they covered, you bought it all here in a tight little package (with some interesting unknown facts)! Thanks again!
@@CaptainAlsClassroom Thank you so much!
Of all the different looks you've adopted for your videos this one is my favorite. I really liked the Buddy Holly look, too. Both looks are adorable. I think I like Buck's version of "Act Naturally" just a little bit better than Ringo's because he has so many subtle variations in his vocal style, and he captures the pathos in his voice, which is a hallmark of great country singers. I like Ringo''s too though. That song suits him very well.
@@sammcbride2149 Thank you so much!
John denver would have to be my favourite. Though I do find "country" as a genre to be very pleasing and beautifully evocative. However I am a bit of a "folkie" at heart, and country is not a stones throw away from that sso no real surprise I guess. Check out John Denver chloe I think you'll really like him "Annie's song", "rocky mountain hig" and "sunshine on my shoulder" are among my personal favourites . But I guess he's really known for "country roads" which is a staple of any karaoke night., or "leaving on a jet plane" but there's really many more besides. Thanks for the video
@@rainblaze. I will listen to the songs you recommended
I've heard it said that Hank was the first true rock n' roll star, in the sense that he developed a strong image, was the first to really gain regional and national exposure through television, and toured extensively. He certainly had a strong influence on the early rock n' roll that followed. My favourite song of his is 'Kawliga'.
The electronic album by George Harrison was great to listen to for me personally, because as a teenager I played an electronic accordion by the name of Cordavox, which I enjoyed the electronic sounds you could get out of a simple accordion. So when George had the Moog Machine, I found this so fascinating at that time and my parents, who were not Beatles fans at all, they knew I was exciting about George's album that I played on my parents Admiral Stereo and the sound was fantastic in 1969, 1970. My parents bought me for Christmas an album of all Moog Machine songs with modern hits like Spinning Wheel and You Keep Me Hanging On, and I just say, that George's son Danny has updated the album with the beautiful cd and vinyl, which is now even more beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.
I really enjoyed your Review with the original musicians and singers. Your review for me gets a 5 Star Rating ! I say this because your Ratings and your explanations on each song is brief, to the point and very reasonable. Much like you, I bought the album pretty well at time of release, and I loved the album, in spite of John saying he was embarrassed. Ringo's voice surprised me for the clarity of the old standards. I didn't see anything to be embarrassed about. Bye Bye Blackbird was my favorite song. I would have been 19 years of age purchasing the record. I was disappointed the Beatles were breaking up, but when I started listening to the early albums like this one and McCartney first album and All Things Must Pass, I forgot about the split and enjoyed the new music. I found that Ringo had extra talents with the aid of George Martin and friends. I do like Stardust for that great opening. That is my second favorite. I do like your listing of your favorites. You are a breath of fresh air with your speaking on such a positive note. These days with talking about Ringo in a negative way, I turn them off. Ringo has done exceeding well and puts everything into an album and his songs. I think his Legacy will be a great as the other Beatles when the final count down of their song discography. Ringo has some of the best Singles material of 3 of the 4 Beatles,,Paul also has done exceptional with Singles releases over the decades. I believe Ringo Starr has made a positive impact on the music Industry. His albums like Ringo Rama, Bad Boy, Y Not, Don't smell the Roses, Time Takes Time, Ringo 2012, Vertigo Man, Ringo with the Beatles album, Beaucoups of Blues, and others, are great and Sentimental Journey, which you have Reviewed so well, is a top album. Thank you so much for sharing. Take care.
@@djreid Thank you so much!
Steve Marriet was a great guitarist. It's weird how some artists/bands never catch on across the Atlantic. Oasis, Small Faces, Paul Weller etc. Honestly, I don't know any of their songs. I have been meaning to listen to Ogden Nut....album but haven't yet. But thank you for the video because it makes me more curious!
Love em.
Chlozy, you have great taste, The Small Faces were one of the greatest british bands ever, love their early stuff on 'Decca Records' but can I suggest you also try one of their later singles 'Tin Soldier' ,what a tune !! one of the greatest songs of the 60's.
I like your new look.
@@Isa-m2y4u Thank you!
I've remixed Ogden's Nut Gone Flake on my channel.
For me, the coolest band ever! Fav song: Sha La La La La Lee. It bursts with energy and Ogden's is a masterpiece, first track to last. Also a big fan of Ronnie Lane's post Faces, Slim Chance stuff. SMALL FACES FOREVER!
Good info

Big fan of the Small Faces and the Who and Soul Music. My late Fathers building company rebuilt his home after the fire. Ive been a mod for years and Mini Cooper fan. i am 48 now. You missed out of lot of history of the band nice overview.
Here's a record to review Magna-Fi Burn Out the Stars It's only on CD but it's pretty easy to find on second hand online shops
That was really cool! I'm not real familiar with their music other than Itchycoo Park, which I heard on the radio and loved as a young teen. I'm more familiar with The Faces. I'm going to check them out and listen to their albums. Thanks Chlozy...groovy make-up!!!!
The most underappreciated English band of that era. Very well done. Peace and Love, Terry and Julia Tutor
@@TerryTutor-cv3hh Thank you! I agree :)
Steve Marriot was amazing. Small Faces did have a hit in America with "Itchykoo Park but Humble Pie was more popular here in the US. The Faces were most popular than Small Faces here too. Great Video.

I met Ian he was a nice bloke.got to say that was well covered biography amazing you got so much into 6 minutes .look forward to next week's. Have you done the Kinks ?
@@markjackson2642 Thank you! ❤️ I’ve done my top Kinks songs, but I would like to do a short bio on them as they are one of my favourite bands :)
I was 10 years old when Lazy Sunday was released. The song blew me away (especially the half time section with the SFX) Arudi doodi doo Arudi doodi di day 😋. I instinctively knew it was a special song. When I later started playing keyboards & singing, I added it to my rep ☮💗
😃Alright !! The Small Faces!!
Interesting history of a fantastic band that unfortunately were under appreciated here in the USA. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow, I have not listened to these guys in a very long time. How fun it is to rediscover music all over again. Thank you for the reminder.
Yes, I have seen the film
I have the Zapple vinyl album. Peter Tork of the Monkees plays banjo on it. Yesterday was the first time I saw the movie.
Never cared much for this one. But I do like Wonderwall Music. It's an underrated soundtrack.
I am a great fan of avant-garde and electronic music, and I have to agree that George's Electronic Sound is simply not a very good example. I do really love the quote on the inner sleeve ("There are a lot of people around making a lot of noise, here's some more"). George was to do rather a lot better next time out!
Wonderwall music is much more worthwhile
I purchased this album right after it's release. I loved it from the start. I have a cd (import from France?) at my brothers so I don't remember how much info was included. I have it on my computer. Thanks for all the stuff you shared! The overall production and sound recordings are fantastic. The Indian musicians are all amazing and give absolutely wonderful performances (the interplay between them is fantastic)! Many of the other pieces I'm assuming were written by George. Very ahead of their time and major beginnings of "New Age" classical music? Others may have dabbled, but George really brings it to a new level. Red Lady Too and Glass Box really shine as unique pieces with very original instrumentation. Glass Box is Raga Rock in full swing...I always loved that piece. The opening to Dream Sequence is mind-blowing. I think a hammer dulcimer is used with backwards tracking along with some of the other instruments. When he brings in the Indian chanting it's just over-the-top cool! Note: the Mono version of Red Lady Too has a lot of effects on the melody at the end which gives it a completely different sound. I'll have to listen to the Mono version to see if there's anything else that is different. Thanks again for a wonderful video!
I bought this when it first came out and listened to it many times. Fans of ATMP will notice one track from APPLE JAM had parts of Electronic Sound over dubbed on to it.
I like Electronic Sound but I don't listen to it often. There was better electronic music being produced at the time and the fact that one side of the album is Bernie Krauss demonstrating the Moog doesn't help. George made better use of the synthesizer on Abbey Road.
I like this album very much. Sometimes I sing these tunes in the shower.
Lennon is barely in the film; it's a very small part. Which is pretty surprising because he was the founder of the biggest band in the world (up to that time, at least). From the looks of it he could have been a pretty good actor but John was just chronically lazy.
I'm challenging myself to listen thru it all the way, never have tried. I know it won't be to my liking but maybe I'll get something out of it...:)
Great info. I played in a band with a person (Rick Gold) who sounded EXACTLY like Elvis. We played for many years together. Recently, he went to visit many places relevant to Elvis's life. To make my point, on his way back to the airport (he had a short amount of time) he stopped at Graceland and asked the guard if he could visit Elvis's grave sight (there was a light rainfall). "You'll have to wait for the tour" was the reply. He started to sing for the guard. The guard opened the gate and said, "You have 20 minutes...don't make me come and get you!" I met Rick through his manager who called me on the phone while I was at work. He said would you back up an Elvis impersonator tonight at B.B. Kings in Universal City. I asked how much it paid and he said nothing, but you'll be playing for Humble Harve from KRLA? radio. I laughed. He said, "Listen to this." He played a recording and I said, who do you think you're fooling, that's ELVIS! He said if it isn't, will you back him up? And I said YES!!!! That's how we met....I'm so glad I discovered your channel....I love it!
@@CaptainAlsClassroom I love this! :)
Hi, I just typed a long comment. When I tried to save it, it had a little red face. What happened? Do you have it? Thanks.

@@chlozycat6506 Ok, I'll try again. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing all this...that was really cool. It's nice to see you and your sister at many of these locations!
Thanks for this information...I took out my DVDs and starting watching. I'm really enjoying them...though as we know, John and George's voices are odd. The actor delivers on their personalities (at least), so once you get used to them you can enjoy the cartoons in spite of this. Kooky...they are. But when you consider what Sat. Morning cartoons were in the mid sixties they fit right in. Considering I "lived" the Beatles as a young guitarist, I would watch them every Sat. morning. I'm so glad you did this...I'm really having fun with them now!!! I purchased them years ago (Ebay?) and these were definitely "manufactured" at home by someone. They look good though.
As a Beatle fan I have only seen bits and pieces of it. It reminds me of Help/MMT films a little bit. 1966 is one of my favorite years for film and music. I was alive then but only 8 years old! Time flies! Maybe I should watch it all the way again soon! Thanks for the review, you are my favorite! Russ
I'm with you on this album Chozy! George wanted to try something different and that's always a worthwhile endeavor especially for a recording artist. I sort of forced myself to listen to the whole album, but I only have done it one time. Love Wonderwall and it's become one of my favorites. Electric Music album cover, and artwork is one of the best! Enjoy your reviews! R
What a fun history. My father grew up near Fort Worth, which is adjacent to Dallas, and he and his brother (both Beatlemaniacs) wanted to see the Beatles so badly, but for whatever reason they couldn't go. I assume they couldn't get tickets. I remember my dad saying he felt sick to his stomach the next day, having missed out what he believed to be the best show on Earth. He ended up seeing quite a few other bands of the period, Gary Lewis, Simon and Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones, Boyce and Hart, Chad and Jeremy and so on, but he always regretted not seeing the fab four. He even bought the same style Rickenbacker 325 when he played, but it wasn't the same as actually seeing them live of course.
Native Texan and former Houstonian here (also a Beatles fan!). The Sam Houston Coliseum where The Beatles performed stood until 1998 before it was demolished. The KILT banner on Ringo’s drum riser was the call sign for a local top 40 AM radio station in Houston at that time. Nice video!
If one were interested, most of George's albums are available on Apple Music in Dolby Atmos, (at least in the States). "Electronic Sound" & "Wonderwall Music" sound pretty good in Atmos...
