    One more question dear @PatriotSix do you know anything about SDK when it comes to aircraft? Simple tasks like for example setting up/fixing broken showcase views by the devs? It is all on the camera.cfg file and I believe these cameras are made when the game is developed inside the SDK environment. I would need to fix few wrong exterior/showcase cameras which cant be moved od adjusted in game. Thanks.

    Hello and Thank you for providing such detailed tutorials! I have an Issue, as the GBZH Helipads aren't showing in the editor (Objects/Scenrey). I placed the "gbzh35-helipads" folder as is in the Modellib and in the Community folder... Do you have any idea?

      Thanks for watching. I built a stand-alone package for the helipads, which are stored in the community folder. I placed the GBZ ModelLib into a simplescenery folder. I opened in SDK, filled in the names like any other project, and then built the package with a generic name like Blahblah-helipad-scene. If you're having trouble, please let me know, and I'll find a way to email a generic helipad package for you to use.

    Great video. Thank you. I dont know if you are still able do sdk videos or give some advices, but is it possible to quickly fix roads and road traffic? What I see quite often is photogrammetry or 3d model bridge and at the same time I tsee satelite 2d imagery of the road or bridge over water "printed" on the water texture. Cars are falling through the bridge to the ground road texture and coming back up at the end. This also applies to bridges over non-water like in Switzerland or Austria huge highway or train bridges as 3d objects, but unfortunately 2d printed road texture underneath quite often also with satelite imager yof cars on top of it.. super immersion killer. Other issue is for example near San Francisco where highway bridges and ramps are pulling up and out the terrain underneath while at the same time having the 2d satelite imagery of the highway or highway ramp underneath. Thanks.

      I entirely agree that the way automobile traffic behaves can degrade the experience. Unfortunately, the MSFS SDK does not have the option to change AI vehicles. I hope the option will be available in 2024, but I am waiting for the SIM to be complete before I start working on the scenery.

    After adding my runway in the editor and having it all nice and aligned, it doesn’t show up in the game! Everything else from my airport shows up. Is there some option I need to tick or something?

    Awesome video! Everything went perfect for me, but for some reason I can’t get the airport to load in game. I put the airport in the community folder, but when I load into the game it doesn’t load. Any tips?

    I followed these steps for the 2024 sim and everything went perfectly, but when I put the mycompany into the community folder it didn’t work.

      Thank you for watching. I have not tried Dev Mode yet in 2024. I hear there are a few changes, but they are mostly the same. I will take a look and get back to you. I know this may be a silly question, but did you put the project into the correct community folder? Also, do you have the Sim installed on the same drive as your OS drive, or do you have it installed on a different drive?

      @ no it’s definitely in the right community folder. I already have stuff put in there and it all works, except my project. and the project did save because I went back to edit it and the trees went back to the way I made them. So that’s the only way I can activate them. But I followed all the steps so I’m assuming all the steps should be the same in the 2024 sim, and the SDK is almost exactly the same as the 2020 format. And I also downloaded the new project editor and SDK.

      @@nlhockey286 You forced my hand LOL. So, I was able to do it. I went in and set up the editors to my preferred appearance, built a package, added the package to the Community Folder, and tested it. It all works fine. In the package I did several things that matter when adding scenery projects. I removed buildings, added a few objects, and replaced a ground mesh. There are more options in the 2024 SDK but I stuck to the basics. I used one of the new 2024 samples which appears to be the same as the 2020 samples. I followed this guide linked below. I worked from memory though instead of watching the video. 😃 If you follow this, you should get it to work. The object window now has sample images but that is not consequential to what you are trying to do. Just letting you know. I was able to easily figure out. But, I have done this a lot.     Hey....thanks for your work and instruction. Creating an airport for myself is on my list. Am thinking of creating a modification for the Oshkosh Airport...with an EAA Airshow theme. Wouldn't it be nice to see an EAA setup with multiple static airplanes? Anyway...those are my plans and thoughts. I looked for an answer elsewhere, but wonder...is my created airport visible to others only if they have the corresponding file in their Community folder? And...if I am sitting at the end of my "created runway" on the ground, what is seen by those who do not have my modification? Do they see my aircraft sitting in a field or something?

      Thanks for watching. You are correct that only those you have shared the package with will see your creation. As for the others, I think you will be seen on the standard ground mesh as it is in the simulator.

    Is there anything i have to do in case im Not using a default msfs Airport? I want to Place some Planes on a payware Airport… Also do i have to Open an existing project just Like you did in the Tutorial or is it also possible to Click on ,,New project“? Greetings

      Adding static aircraft to an airport of any type is not special. It is a standard scenery project. I made this video a couple of years ago, and I do not recall exactly the method I used. You can build a new scenery project by starting with New Project and using the wizard to create it, or you can use a SimpleScenery folder as I did in this video. Thanks for watching.

    Hello... your tutorials have been of a great help on my projects. One thing I cant get sense of, is when correcting an ICAO for an airport, the old keeps showing on the MSFS2020 map! Is there a way around this?!

      Also, while loading the stock Airport I can see some areas such as roads, pathways, aprons, etc., that would be nice to keep. But as soon as I change the ICAO in the properties, all that goes away

      This is a deep dive so I can only speculate. The ICAO is baked in a database somewhere in the sim. You can modify the airport as is or create a new airport but I do not know of a way to hide an icao from the world map.

    Thanks for your videos i have learned a lot. wondering could you point to a video or tell me how to remove existing airport so i don't see the existing small airport when i go to globe and choose to fly there. I still see the spawn points for the existing airport when i choose to spawn in from the globe of earth. your videos helped me to build a international scale airport on what was a small g/a field. i have not deleted the small g/a airport because dont know how to select it. when i use the polygon tool i can see in properties all the normal things but no runway to delete. i did select to overwrite the existing airport when i created the new file.       i found it by moving the asset arrow in the scenery editor, then the existing runway showed up with the delete option (all runways). i just updated the skd a week or two ago. perhaps there was a change since you video. again thanks for all the great information in your tutorials.

      I'm sorry it took me a while to see this. If you saved the scenery, all you have to do is open the project and reload to pick up where you left off. The same goes if you want to make changes later. Make sure the old package is not in the Community Folder while making changes.

    Did you use the sound sample from “Flight unlimited” Respawn after a crash . It would say press x for divine intervention. There was a choir sound and you were back flying at 5000 feet .

    So I did everything you said. And have verified my town is in fact 3D. So after using the emissive polygon to remove their generated mess, the 3D from google maps isn't showing. Any ideas on what I could have done wrong? Also, it's not saving my polygons when I load it in? First time project with this sim. Thanks.

      Thanks for watching. Do you see "unknown" objects in the Scenery Editor? If everything works correctly, you will see titles in the editor that have about a 12-digit number assigned to the tile. If you see "unknown", there is a problem. You can try again and leave the LOD at the default and see if that works. It will make a much larger package though. Depending upon your machine, you might see stuttering with large Earth packages. Occasionally, I run into this problem too. Then I have to decide if the scenery is worth the package size.

    I’m interested to fixing a whole city, I’m interested in street view level height. Everything looks good from my house.. it’s when you get to the street level that everything breaks down. You would think they could use ai to generate way better 3D models of buildings, (houses) sidewalks and roads. It looks really bad up close.

      Thanks for watching. What you are seeing is the resolution limitations of Google Earth and 3D photogrammetry. It is fine at a distance but non distinct up close. An automobile looks like a melted blob. The FAQs on Google Earth will tell you to zoom out if the image resolution is poor. Streetview quality would be great. But is it possible to download and render massive amounts of area with Streetview level of detail on a consumer PC and current available bandwidth? I don't think it is. When you you move around in street view notice the small amount of time it takes to render the next view. Now increase that by hundreds of thousands of times and imagine the machine it would take and the bandwidth required to have that crispness during a flyover. You might move a foot and download and render for a couple of minutes before you move another foot. We have come a long way in electronics in my lifetime but that is a ways off right now. AI plays a big role in stitching all of the satellite imagery tiles together while including elevation data and 3D Photgrammetry where available. And, where 3D areal photography is not available AI interprets what it sees in the maps to recreate buildings and vegetation. They are rather generic but its a start. AI may be the long-term solution as it advances. One can dream. 😃 Happy flying. 🛩

    10/10 tutorial!!! I learned it from you today and made immediatly two sceneries with succes. One was the whole small town where a friend lives ( detail: 18-20; 10GB, runs a bit too slow) and my street where I live (detail: 17-maximum; 3GB, runs perfectly). they both worked at first try! thank you soooo much!

      Thanks for watching and I am glad you had success. I still run into areas with different LODs. I think it is a new areal photogrammetry and I have yet to figure out the LODs. So if you hit a spot you cannot get to work, you are not alone. I personally do not like to go with large packages (over 2Gb) because it creates stutters. I run three monitors at full 4K so that is part of the problem. Supposedly in 2024 more CPU cores will be utilized. Currently, 2020 only use a single CPU core. Happy flying.

      @@patriotsix5880 indeed, I experienced much slower FPS due to the 10GB small town. You are correct with keeping the packages small. I think one bad addon folder can ruin the whole sim temporarily. Thanks for the info about the LODs, I'll keep that in mind. By the way, do you have a trick for starting with free mod helicopters from helipads? I think the sim recognizes them as planes and gives out an error. I thought about making a small invisible runway onto or next to an helipad for that. Good simming for you :)

      @@janb1033 I do recommend the free addon linker from flightsim.to. It is not good to have a lot of large files in the community folder. It will increase your load time and flight load time. This one is for adding a random helipad away from the airport. ua-cam.com/video/Wb2DM3kCwH4/v-deo.html There are chapters so you can get to the section you want and bypass the things you know. To add a helipad at an airport you will use the same process starting around 26:00

If it is controlled in real life then the frequencies will be in the Asobo airport list and can be activated. We can continue this conversation once I know what you are working with.

I did a Google search and it appears you cannot because there is no scenery editor or SDK options for XBox. I did not do a deep dive so there may be something obscure out there that I did not find.     Hello. I saw your video and maybey you can help me out. A member of our flightsim club is building me a privat airport in msfs2020 that he did for other members as well. Now the problem is that de ILS is showing up in my g1000 as an VOR. Instead of ILS. I read on a website that the ILS frequenties are from 108.00 to 112. and the VOR from 108.00 to 117.95. 108 to 112 is the range for the glideslope. My airport has the freq 115.20 and 115.40. So I asked him to change that into 111.20 - 111.40. Just for trying. He did that but unfortunately it didn't help. It stil behaves as a VOR. Do you have any idea about what to do? We are desperate. On the other privat airports it is the same issue. The VOR is at startup pointing to the west. So I dial my course to 227º (the course of the runway) and the neadle turns in the right direction. But because it is behaving like a VOR there is no glideslope. I hope you can help us. Kind Regards, Tonny

      Hi Tonny. I have not worked with ILS because it is difficult and takes trying and checking and trying and checking. The main reason I build scenery is to help others. I didn't want to put out a video that may or may not work. I don't think it would be helpful. And, since I do not build airports I personally use, I have not attempted an ILS. Some of the folks on my Facebook Group have done it and they say it is hard. But, you are welcome to join if you want and see if one of the folks in the group can help you.       The process works every time. I am not with you, so I can only speculate a step is being missed. I can break it down to the most simply form here. 1. You need a scenery folder. I would go with the supplied simlescenery folder in SDK samples. 2. Open the sceney folder and navigate to PackageSources. 3. Open PackageSources and delete modellib and scene 4. Make sure the Earth2MSFS is pointing to the exact PackageSources folder. You can select the folder through the Earth2MSFS tool, or you can copy and paste the path to that folder. 5. Start the E2MSFS tool. You can keep the scenery folder open so you can see it work. The first thing you will see is the tool will build a modellib folder. Once all the tiles are built, the tool will add a scene folder. Once this part of the process is complete, you can continue and complete the package. All of this takes time. The larger the area you select, the longer it takes for everything to be completed. I hope this helps.

      Thanks for watching. From what I have read the trees will be more regional in MSFS 2024. I get it. MSFS is a major accomplishment software and Asobo learned a lot so of course the new sim will built on all that was learned.

    The frenchvfr PBY has its thrust set t0 zero. Could you make a video on how to increase the trust? I imagine about 3000-4000lbs of thrust per motor is accurate. You can see the engine thrust is zero in the developer debug tool when revving the engines. This would help a lot cause the airplane wont move in the sim unless its gliding.

      Thanks for watching. You can add anything that is in the scenery library. If you have Gaist boats, you can add them. If you have trouble finding them in the objects window, you can individual select packages on the right window inside the objects window. Once you choose a package, only objects from that specific group will appear in the object's pane.

      What appears to be missing in the tutorial is you need to add the OBJECT AIRPORT with ICAO code before you can add any airport objects.

    I got as far as deleting the runways with the delete command, but unlike with yours the runways did not disappear when I ticked the box. Am I missing something. Also same with starts and taxiways.

      Thanks for watching. I bet the sim runway and taxiways were removed and what you see is the satellite images and the base world map. Those will remain but you cover them up with your own runway. If you plan to place the new runways and taxiways in a different location, you can, but you will need to cover the satellite images with a ground texture. I hope that helps.

      Welcome, and thanks for watching. I am not familiar with Unity so you will have to educate me. Through a search, I found Unity 3-D development. Is that what you are referring to? With me asking you questions it is reasonable to assume I am not going to be helpful in this area. 😊MSAFS SDK has its limitations. You can certainly import 3D objects into the sim but all imported objects run through Blender. I don't know how you reverse the process.

      @@williamhiciano394 Ha! That may be too simple for me. 😊You don't make maps in SDK you add objects and textures with GPS coordinates so the appear where you want them to appear. My mind goes a couple of directions with this question so I am unsure what you want to accomplish. Tell me exactly what you want to happen so I can understand.

      Thanks for watching. Now, we should address the elephant in the room. Sorry fo the cliche but it was too easy. Based on what you have done, of course, you should see it. This elephant; is it part of the scenery library and is the scenery source with the elephant always loaded either in the Community Folder or standard library? Obviously, it should be there if so. The only time I have seen objects missing is when the objects used in a package are not always loaded.

      Thanks for watching. The problem could be so many things I doubt I can help. I would double check that tool tool modification is correct per the video. It seems the problem might be with the tool itself. I have been using the tool for about three years. Even before the patch was made and I never seen it behave that way.

I thought that the latest earth2 msfs was already patched but it wasn't. I copied the two files into the directory where the earth2msfs.exe file is and that did it. Thanks again for your help.

The fix may be simple but I have not had any issues with the tool to learn what can go wrong. If it is an SDK issue, I can help with that because I have found a lot of the pitfalls. It is speculation by my instinct tells me to check the tool installation.

I thought the latest version of earth2msfs had all the patches in it but that's not the case. I found the latest patch through your videos and copied the two files into the directory with earth2msfs and it took care of the problem. Thank you so much for following up and helping me. It was my fault for not understanding the patch has to be applied for it to work.

    Can you help me please I'm trying to edit a default airport but the runway approache lights still illuminating during day . I can't add marking to The overrun area of the runway .       Thanks for watching. I have not made a video on ILS because it is complicated. I know others who have and it takes trial and error. There may be videos on YT that explain the process but I have not gone there. As for the lights, they are removable. Could you check to ensure you did not overlook the lights in the deletion section?

    A very clear description and deliberate slow instruction! Even still, my head is spinning so I will need to watch slowly in little bits at a time. For FSX I had a third party ‘Instant Scenery’ which was simple to use for me. This is definitely a more in depth method that I will need to master. I want to be able to add a helipad at our own home!       Thanks for watching. I guess this video has aged out. However, adding a POI is part of basic scenery building. Once the basics work for you, You can select POI from the objects menu and add.
