A very clear description and deliberate slow instruction! Even still, my head is spinning so I will need to watch slowly in little bits at a time. For FSX I had a third party ‘Instant Scenery’ which was simple to use for me. This is definitely a more in depth method that I will need to master. I want to be able to add a helipad at our own home! Thanks a lot!👍🇨🇦
Thx. I made my first helipad at St.Kilda Hebrides Scotland after reading about this abandoned place. Will follow more of your videos. Your instructions are much better than the documentation with the sdk
I show the start point process currently in SDK, but I do not fly rotary craft and do not know how they function. Thinking more about the matter, as best I can tell, start points are typically on runways, and all aircraft are running when you start at a start point. To the extent of my knowledge, for a vehicle to be cold and dark, it must be at a parking location instead of a starting point. That are the options we have now in SDK. In future SDK updates, there may be an option for a hybrid start point for rotary aircraft. We will see in time. I fly PMDG aircraft, and the PMDG models have options to set your circumstances for starting that override the stock sim options. When I start the flight, I can set the exact parameters that I want the aircraft to be, which is always cold/dark. I am unfamiliar with all of the helicopter models out there and whether or not there is a model that can be customized for a cold/dark startup, regardless of the location. It depends upon the aircraft creator.
Thank you Gao. I am aware that some folks need to use the translation so I try to keep it at a good pace for those that need subtitles. In addition, I have always lived in the midsouth in the USA and we tend to speak slower. 😀 I gave you a subscribe. Your channel seems to be doing well. Congratulations.
@@patriotsix5880 Thank you for subscribing. Recently, I've been busy with work and haven't been able to follow the tutorials for creating scenery. I will introduce your site on my channel soon. Please follow up with the viewers from Japan.
Big thanks for tuto, i don't understand why we can't use powerful lights, for example the beacon we can see on KRDM Redmond airport (Robert Field), or some lights we see on plane.
Flashing lights with great distance are hard to find. I have found a few in payware that I use that can be seen from long distances but in the standard scenery library, the flashing lights are weak.
How about starting point water runways? I live in an area serviced by many float plane fights, but only a few designated water runways to start a flight from. For example: Lopez Island, WA in Fisherman Bay which is serviced by Kenmore Air daily.
Have you attmpted to start an fictional airport at the locations you want? Or if they are actually listed in MSFS have you attempted to modify the aquaport. I think I made up a name. 🤣
Thank you for your great tutorials! I created a landable helipad with GBZ Helipads (your other video) and now I'd like a proper starting point heliport (airport) but on the hospital roof. For the life of me I cannot figure out where to put GBZ modelLib so my new airport project will "see" the GBZ entries - like near the end of this video. I assume I need the GBZ helipdas if this "airport" will not be on the ground but on the hospital roof? Thank you very much!
Unfortunately, you can't place a starting point above the ground now in SDK. You can use the GBZ models to set helipads on roofs but cannot create an elevated start point. Sorry.
@@jure3846 I have been thinking about the options. I have an idea. Instead of a starting point for the helipad, a parking spot should work. You can go ahead and place the helipad over the parking spot. Essentially, the sim will behave as if the vehicle is parked instead of ready to fly. The only obstacle is it will require an airport overwrite and tieing the parking spot to the taxiways. I do cover this in other videos, if not this video. If you add a parking location, even if you do not tie it to a taxiway, all you will get is a warning, not an error. You can build a package with a warning but not an error.
@@patriotsix5880I will try this, thank you for the idea! I managed to build my first heliport in the meantime, but still lots to learn! Off to watch more of your videos! 🙂

Thanks for watching. SDK is like anything else you have learned. You will understand it more with use. Eventually, it becomes easy.

Thank you, Paul.
Thanks for the guide very informative, just made my first helipad in Inverness Scotland
That is great. Thanks for watching.
Great quality tutorial, each one is better.
Thanks a lot mister!
Thank you, friend. I continue to seek perfection even though perfection is an illusion. 😃
@@patriotsix5880 haha nice answer!

i thought you were going ton show us how to make a heliport a cold and dark startup point (engines not running)etc

ゆっくりと話されたので英語が苦手な私でも十分に理解できました。色々なビデオを見てきましたが、初心者にとって最もわかりやすい説明だと思いました。私のチャンネルでも紹介させてください。続きも楽しみにしています。
