I've been using SDK for a while now thanks to your help, and the runway markings was puzzling me, thanks for clarifying that it is a mod making those marks, I guess we have the same mod, I'll just ignore it, thank you again.
It is speculation on my part. A friend of mine built KMIA and I had better markings than him and he does not have the airport graphics mod. I am a believer in Occam's razor when solving problems. Thanks for watching.
Hi, when I get to the stage to add a runway, I choose the runway number and click add, but nothing appears? Plus all the windows eg project edition etc all seem full height, no way to resize them smaller. Thanks for your help and great tutorials
Thanks for watching. These questions can't be answered in a simple sentence so I will get into some detail. I'll take the easy question first. Yes, the editor windows can be resized. Out of the box, SDK defaults to large panels. You can tick on the top bar of each panel and move the panel down a bit. Once you free the panel from the top locked position on the screen, you can resize the window to your preferred shape and size. I believe the sweet spot on the top is at the panel name. Seeing nothing; when you add a runway, nothing appears. When you add a runway, you will see an outline of a runway with or without a texture along with the runway name in the Scenery Editor. One possibility is the runway is added but out of view. You can tick on the runway in the Scenery Editor to select the runway and adjust your camera perspective to find the runway. Once you find the runway you can move it to the preferred location. If you do not see a runway outline or the runway in the Scenery Editor, I will need to probe deeper and, ask more questions to ensure you have not missed a step. If you see a runway outline, that is good. That means everything is correct. SDK uses additional resources. Your PC specs dictate what you see when building scenery. Textures come and go as you move around. The better the machine, the more you see. Textures disappearing is expected behavior. I hope that helps. Please let me know how it is going.
I love hour tutorials, simple but clear. I am a RL glider pilot and always complain about developers that make high grass on runway that is absolutely unreal. Grass is always mowed wery low. High grass "a la Asobo" looks good in screenshots but not realistic. How can i do to have a green grass runway but with low mowed grass?
Hello Antonio. Thanks for watching my tutorials and guides. The problem you are referring to with the grass height is a common complaint from the community. Unfortunately, I do not see a fix now, but I will continue looking for alternatives. 3D grass textures in the market can be purchased and added to the sim via Blender. However, I have been reluctant to try the surfaces because they cost money, and I am not sure they will work. I believe a fix will eventually be available through SDK, but I suspect the grass height is low on the priority list. When an alternative is available, I will put out a tutorial. I appreciate your loyalty. P6

Thanks so much, it was all my fault, I tend to rush ahead and not pay full attention.
