☆ ABOUT ME ☆
I am a former tech worker who lived in NYC for 30 years. At 50, I started an Amazon FBA business. Fun, but neither career allowed time for healthy living.
Last year, I turned 60, overweight, out-of-shape, pre-diabetic, with high cholesterol, and couldn't walk 20 minutes without resting.
In August 2023, I began the carnivore diet. I lost 65 pounds in 3 months.
Now, I can walk miles, have normal cholesterol and blood pressure, and am no longer pre-diabetic. I feel 30 years younger, and I'm passionate about sharing my story to help others.

    Wife and I aren't carnivore diet but we do tend to pick up and stash a bunch of meat usually in one big go every few months. If you can find a US Chef Store near you (for in the states) or even a Restaurant supply store that supplies meat/food as well as everything else that sells to the public you can certainly help your budget there as well.

    If you buy those big pieces of meat you simply cut into steaks then grill. You can wrap and freeze rest. Same for those pork loin chops. Buy long pork loin roll. Grill it or chop into loin chops then grill. Can save you money

    I know things like grassfed, pasture raised, organic, etc more ideal for foods. However, is it still considered substantially healthier than standard "diet" for you to buy meats, cheeses, butters that aren't all those things? I assume it is healthier than standard American diet, but just want others thoughts. Thanks! Gulit sets in when cant but all the "best".

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth 6 днів тому

      Myself, I think we should try to eat the best that we can afford. I’d love to est only grass fed meat, but I can’t afford it. So I eat regular meat. Maybe it’s not as healthy, but for me it’s much healthier than non-carnivore. I can’t afford organic or raw dairy very often either, but my half gallon of raw milk twice per month is the only dairy that I ever eat. No need to feel any guilt.

    I live in an area with almost no farms (certainly none with dairy cows), and on top of that it's actually illegal to sell raw dairy in our grocery stores . That being said, while I was traveling about a year ago I made a point to find some raw kefir - it did NOT disappoint! 😍

    Hi Jay, as a previous yo yo diet guy, I also came across this on UA-cam. I lost around 45 lbs. More to go! Listening to my thoughts on this, I now believe we can't lose weight unless we go carnivore. Unfortunately, nothing else works. We are sugar addicted. Thank the Gods for UA-cam because mainstream media and the medical industry have long ago taken their thirty pieces of silver for the ongoing betrayal of us plebs. Unfortunately, UA-cam also shadow ban channels like yours. But won't ban completely because of the love of revenue. I've no problem with people drinking smoking, taking drugs, or eating rubbish food. I do, however, have a huge problem with the people we pay handsomely for advice telling us bare a faced lie. To keep us trapped in a miserable, sickly existence and an existence that they are gaslighting us is our fault because of our weakness of willpower!

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth 7 днів тому

      We can only be trapped if we allow it. Or we can take ownership of our diets and learn healthy ways of eating. I spent years blaming other people for my weight and health issues, but I’ve learned that I hold the key and I don’t need to give it to anyone else 🙂

    a few years ago I was adding raw milk to my diet from fairly local cows but the milk was refrigerated at a health food store so never saw the farm. one day I saw blood in my stool (sorry TMI) and it freaked me out. no pain or anything and never again but I didn't buy any more raw milk after that. so its good if you can see where the milk comes from and buy directly from a farm situation and not rely on it being transported somewhere else because bacteria can get in/grow in the milk.

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth 7 днів тому

      Yes, I always try to buy it right from the farm. One can’t completely eliminate risk, but one can reduce it.

  • @jeCktHeReal

    I was skeptical at first, but you did mention (thank you!) my pet peeve with people recommending the consumption of foods like raw milk - it can set off the carb-craving. I have the same issue with low-carb, high fat greek yogurts, I ate 5 x 400g just the other day, throughout the day. Luckily I don't have a weight gain problem - never had, but it does mess with my hormones I bet. Dairy isn't recommended for "people with a sweet tooth".

      I have also gotten some sort of bacterial infection or digestive breakdown from drinking too much raw milk a few months back. Really not good again especially if the person can't keep it in check. I drank like 5 liters in about 2 days lol.

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth 8 днів тому

    I saw you didn’t get stew meat anyway but for future reference, I’ve read that, with stew meat, you don’t always know what cuts are in the package so all the pieces might not cook the same. When feasible, it’s better to get a roast and cut it up yourself so that you know just what’s going into your stew.

      You said in your video you go out to dinner a couple times a week,if you go to a Brazilian restaurant they’ll have the top sirloin cap should try it first, think you’ll enjoy it, it’s actually called picanha,

    • @Jaylwoodworth
      @Jaylwoodworth 5 днів тому

      Actually I often stop at a Brazilian place near my house - lots of Brazilians in CT where I live. It’s like a big salad bar with barbecued meat. they sell the food by the pound, Brazilian style. I’ve eaten a ton of picanha, but never realized that top sirloin cap was the English name. Now that I think about it, they do say sirloin for picanha. And top sirloin for a cut that I like even better, called alcatra in Portuguese. My only gripe about Brazilian cooking is it’s almost impossible to get my meat cooked rare. Even getting meat cooked Medium is difficult. Most of the time its cooked to a crisp….not s hint of pink left.

      I lived in Brooklyn for many years. We pronounce it like I did in the video. People in Brooklyn don’t always use standard English 🙂

    I I should I could eat that much meat. I only eat a few bites and prefer more carbs and vegetables. Also, there’s 2 of us and we have about $200/month for groceries.

    Top Sirloin Cap is also called Picanha! Cut into 1 ½" steaks and cook to med rare with salt only! You can also leave it whole and smoke it to med rare. Be sure to score the fat cap
