Suntour Voro Coil Shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just had my first ride on the vivid coil. It’s so good. Better than the two push shocks I have. I don’t know what it is. HSC nearly open and LSC open. Gotta give it a try.
I use sram grease on it
I’ve used V1 and R-series shocks. Shits just butter all around. Really wish they still made imperial sizes though… my bikes getting dated :(
I wouldn't call the fox 36 an all-mountain fork. I would rather compare it to a lyrik. both are not quite so extreme enduro forks. i would say the 34 is a real all-mountain fork
Is it possible to build the old and better GRIP damper into the new chassis?

My takeaway from this: Zeb + X2 = A bike that feels like a 160mm but has the capabilities of a 190mm
Hi, I have Trek Fuel Ex 5 gen 5 with rockshox recon 140mm and 42mm offset and 32mm stanchion and I'm planning to upgrade my fork to Rock Shox ZEB Select Charger RC A2 29" offset 44mm and 38mm stanchion, does the 2mm more offset will be big deal? and also the additional 20mm in the travel of the fork? thank you so much. btw I love your content :) keep it up!!!
only go 10mm, the Zeb already has taller axle to crown
@@OtterMTBtech so It's not advisable to go 160mm with 44mm? or how about this one (Rock Shox Yari RC B3 160mm 42mm offset 29'ers) this fork have same offset of what I have now. I want to push a bit higher than 150mm :) and what could be the possible disadvantage if I push it to 160mm? Thanks for response btw :)
@@jomanbalagtas2809 It strains the head tube to overstroke it. But I overstroke under stroke every bike and shock I have, the real reason I say no is it can make the front end feel akwardly tall. Short travel bikes can be senstive, when I slap a 20 mil over fork on my already 180 bike it is not such a change, I put a 180 fork on a 160 bike felt weird
@@OtterMTBtech Thanks a lot for the information, I will check some 150mm, more power to your channel!!!
Im durolox 36 user its okey for me depnds its tune
Hello. I have levo g3 carbon with vivid ult. Help with setup. weight 210lb
3 tokens. Full HBO 1-2 clicks of both hsc and lsc. Has to have matching compression adjustments, same number of clicks high and low. HBO and rebound can adjust independently. Sag go right under 30%. If it’s a levo specific shock it comes with tokens in it. If not you need to add them in. HBO set off your skill level, but your weight full on is good. If you’re stuck on dead slow rebound add in the compression. The goal of the compression is to add in faster rebound notthkng else. Working on setup video now. Super deluxe coil. It’s not far off your shock. Most important is to match the compression adjustment 1 click low means 1 click high Do anything you can to get rebound faster. The only thing you can do to get rebound faster is adding in compression Comment back if you get it dialed
My wife has had the Como 4.0 for 2.5 years now and we have nothing but problems. So much money for such a bad bike. Starting with the brakes. She is the only one at the traffic lights with rain squeaking brakes. This seems to be normal with disc brakes. I think it's outrageous for €4000. In addition, the paint quality is typically American. One small tap on it and the paint will crack off. So now you see the bare metal in 7 spots. I can drop my 10-year-old bike on the ground or hit it with a hammer. Even then, you won't see any bare metal but just a little scratch. And the biggest problem: engine failure. There's nothing they can do about this either (the repairman is taking the easy way out) They can't find anything. Just while driving, the engine cuts out with the message engine failure. And of course, that happens when you are 30km from your car with a bike carrier. And now for the last problem. The battery is fully charged, which can be seen from the green led, but this morning the Mastermind TCD stays grey for 5 seconds, and now stays black. I took the battery out, and it gives me 4 green leds, so the battery must be OK. Checked the cables and charging connector. Also the connector on the battery. My wife is now on my 10 year old Stella electric bike again, which never fails. Oh yes, forgot to say. The Como 4.0 does not have puncture prove tires.
It is not the e-storia model. It simply storia.
It’s the same internals and shaft as e storia in the normal storia chassis. Said it 5 times 😎
I had oil in the air side, hope its not a thing with this shocks. Cause i havent ridden it so hard yet. Like the shock float x cause i can pedal and jump, if it just right.
this guy is so unhinged i love it
I just sent mine to Fox, got a complete rebuild, all new parts, and a medium + shim tune, and a 1.0 spacer for 216.00 They gave me the leftover spacers.
Deflate shock in the bike. That way you can check your linkage too.
Good idea
Jesus christ why did you do it the hardest way possible? 😂 Put the stanchion in the vise, fill it up, fill the ipf reservoir and bleed the shaft. Then screw the sealhead to the stanchion that’s in the vise. Look up the service manual for a rockshox super deluxe.
Thanks for feedback I will, that makes sense, the air is trapped in the stanchion the first 3 times I tried
Im curious now what the manufacturering process is for shocks.
Funny, can’t say I agree with anything you have said. Don’t know if it’s the bike or what, but I just don’t gell with fox. All my forks and shocks are all standard tunes. I’m now on factory 38 and x2 and miss my rockshock setups. Maybe different skill sets suite different levels or even ride preference. Not saying anything is wrong with fox, but I personally just don’t like the feeling.
What is your bike, body weight and settings?
@@OtterMTBtech Spectral Mullet, Fox had 36 performance elite, cant remember the rebound, pretty sure I was either 1 or 2 clicks off the recommended, 2 tokens, but tried different settings generally used 22% sag. Anything under 15-20 I found too stiff. DPX 2 had maximum tokens. had to run the shock at 20% SAG. 25-30 was soft, but went through the mid stroke way to easy, I always assumed a better compression tune was needed. For my slash, I went between a couple of different configurations, some permanent and some trialling when blowing shocks or upgrading from Lyric. I have always used friends who are good at setting up Fox. Im 100kgs. for RockShox, I would typically aim at 18% sag in the front, and depending on the terrain, one click or rebound adjustment, for the rear, it would be 25 to 30%, higher +1 click on HBO. My new Reign is 3 tokens in the 38's and 2 tokens in the X2. Rebound is 1 click slower in the 38 and 1 click higher in X2. highspeed rebound is recommended for both. I know I didn't talk about the compression. I would also like to mention, I ended up getting a Zeb Select and upgraded the damper to 3.0 with buttercups. It was never as good as my Zeb Ultimate in the spectral. After analysis it was the bushes that needed burnishing. Made the fork absolutely buttery like my boxxers. Fox always feel smooth on the initial stroke, but just harsh unless I run 30% in the front and 35% in the rear
this guy is so unchained 🤣
I have the rack on my Subaru outback and it’s way more stable than that.
I enjoy your videos but see that you hate the fox dhx, majority of reviews claim it's very decent and calms the trail chatter. I been on dhx after using dpx2 and x2... And dhx is definitely smoother off the top, lacks abit in midstroke but handles big hits well
Thanks for this honest review. I got quite scared for your rear window and the bikes over those bumps!
The real question here is, if you buy fox float x compression knob kit, and install on fox float x performance does it performe like performance elite?
The amount of shims doesn't determine whether or not a shock will ride good. My fork has only 3 shims inside it at the moment and it rides better than anything I have ever had before. Chassis stiffness is much more important than the shimstack. Spring weight is also much more important than the shimstack. The shimstack comes into play when you have the spring set up correctly, the chassis is stiff enough to not flex and bend under load (more friction and more scratching). If your spring is off you don't need to tune the shimstack, and most riders won't feel the difference anyways. I'm riding a set of intend bandit and hover on my bike at the moment, best setup money can buy for highspeed floating!
another great video, its interesting that you are testing shocks that are tuned for OEM bikes. I picked up a DHX aftermarket shock for my Kenevo and I find the damping dam near perfect and not as tight as your OEM DHX. Wondering If you are dealing with different shim stacks Oem to aftermarket.
Mine was a YT Capra take off so it should have been tuned for progressive linkage. It’s not a bad shock, just bad for a coil
Nice job on the video editing, man!
If you knew the hours spent you would not want to take part thanks for noticing

I got the performance elite "emtb" float X variant for $300 185x55 takeoff from a giant something emtb, what's the difference is it stacked to be even more progressive?!
That’s size probably had light compression tune. .6 .7 spacer is all it needs

Fox Float x vs the DVO Topaz Gen 3, what are your thoughts?
Would love to know too!
ua-cam.com/video/EU80IB1ILsU/v-deo.htmlsi=nr1Y1tYoTLXZtzos I have rode the Topaz 3 a bunch, it is a good shock, the negitive chamber is tunable which is sweet. IT is a much smaller shock then the Float X. The HSC on the Topaz prime looks to be a great improvement, but the size of the shock is the same
What do you mean by smaller? @@OtterMTBtech
If you were to choose one over the other, why would you?
I recenlty buyed a Marzochi Bomber air for my Spz Levo on a great deal on Jenson, this shock feels amazing nice pop and progressive enough to handle a Ebike, super easy to set up. I was coming from a more "sophisthicated" and expensive shock the Cane Creek DB Kitsuma air, blew two times that shock in a short period of time (warrantry it twice) and struggle to get a nice adjustment. Definetly the bomber air is agreat option for a Ebike.
If you can’t setup a 4 way adjustable shock correctly it will Feel worse than a basic shock like bomber Fox Float X2 Beginners Guide ua-cam.com/video/IEt9vbQSd98/v-deo.html As for blowing up all big air can shocks struggle with reliability
So linear can with a token is the stiffest version u can chose?
Linear air is garbage. The shock is garbage, the progressive air can is garbage. They discontinued the shock after less than 2 years. Through it away or sell it or pay more than the shocks worth for the upgrades that may or may not be available
@@OtterMTBtech I had the Öhlins TTX and Rockshox coil with HBO and need to say that i like the proressive can in my Yeti SB165. It was designed for coil but it was so soft at the beggining of the travel. The superdeluxe was helping a lot
Woi 😮 best kuat
hey cool explainer video, check out mine on my rythm 34! could you maybe give me some tips im trying to start out as a creator!
Excellent work 👍
I bent 3 pairs of Candys. The beater part. Shimano Ive never bent. And they work just as well. Plus the cleats are way more durable.
