    I put 165 cranks on it and now I have no pedal strikes (crankbrothers mallet DH).
    Set motor to 45/100 and it will feel more powerful than 100/100. It loves high cadence but you can go down to like 20 when climbing and it works great. It's assisted bike, not full power ebike. For me I feel it's totally lively bike.

      Thanks for comment, this is the process of making informational videos. Low views. If I wore a dress and rode a beach cruiser with good personality it would get 100k laughs every video.
      Helping 10k people with tech support is more impactful

    Taller stack with fix your issue with lifting the front end and jumping. Raise that front up and try again. Guarantee it will make it better for those.

    • @OtterMTBtech

      I tried it felt too tall for me. Why people set on that?

    • @s14tat
      @s14tat 11 днів тому

      @@OtterMTBtech as long as you tried it. It is a free adjustment to make to make it easier to lift the front end up. I understand the whole personal preference thing.
      Edit: I forgot to add that if you know how to j hop, do a back to back test with low bar and high bar. This way you can feel for yourself why people run tall bars. Don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself back to back.

    Fun fact we had a dog named Ted Overend in the 90's.
    The last Spechializer (non ebice) I had was my 2008 big hit, I regretted that bike for awhile but I'd probably regret even more buying one out of nostalgia.

    The Marz fork has dramatically more in common with the 38 you removed than a zeb.

    Great video mr otter. Been ksl curious for a few years now to compliment my full fat kenevo but just worried about the weak power. I really need to demo one

    • @OtterMTBtech
      @OtterMTBtech  11 днів тому

      Good idea to try one. Loosing a full nut of power, so you can drop 10 lbs is brutal. Downsize could really help

    I had my kenevo sl for 2 years now and i feel like the build and size makes a huge difference. I ride a S4 at 6ft2 with the air shock and the flip chip in the high setting. To me it feels more like a trail bike, coming from a decoy 29. The rear end is a dream but still has pop with the x2. I tried it with the dhx2 but it felt like it sucked the life out of the ride. So yeah, wildly different experience…

      🤔. I’m 6’2”. S4 might have fixed it. Glad you tried both. I have been trying Fox coils lately and they are pretty unimpressive. May be common denominator here.

    I have a stump jumper evo and never had any issues with the pivots coming loose. I do find that I regularly have to torque the derailer hanger though

    Love mine. 2 years in. Depends what you want from the motor. I wanted a bike with a small amount of assistance. Air shock needed for the rear and the right size also… coil sucks the life out of these bikes.

    "..expert level that really does better when you are clipped in." I beg to differ. Sam Hill as well. Brendog too...just to name a few 😂😂

      They're outliers. I love flats but I'm not kidding myself if I'd want to be competitive in a DH run I'd choose to be clipped in.
      I started running flats after an accident but kept it going since I do a lot of trail maintenance it's just more practical to wear hiking shoes...

      It was day and night on the bike clipped in. Long travel 29er is expert bike. As stated in the video it is not the board it’s the rider.

    Maybe if you rode the S4 size it would have felt a little more playful?
    Btw does the shock from your full fat Kenevo swap straight across to the SL as I'm thinking about buying an X2 off an SL for my full fat to swap over the standard DPX2 although being similar weight to you kitted up not sure the 300psi limit of the X2 will be an issue compared to 350psi of DPX2 👍

      @OtterMTBtech  11 днів тому +1

      Ya, downsize for sure would be ticket. You better watch every second of this video before you buy any X2!!!! 😉
      Size does swap both 230x62

    That bike sucks, it should came out as a full power as ENDURO ebike, turbo levo sl as trail ebike is fine the mid range power, not for an enduro

    This is not unique to Specialized of modern series cause they become trash tech + trash QC. All old models till 2012 years were execellent made (I own many of them, modern too), never get loose and bearings were made much more durable. Today Specialized become (as many other brands ) a part of Merida bikes and produced in Taiwan. Merida bikes itself is high quality product without any factory defects - but Specialized become top sold mass product due to its popularuty and now its a trash made bike on someone else's production (Merida). Apart - many modern bikes have this ''loose problem'' and its only bad engineering, technological miscalculations, large tolerances, cheap materials, poor processing. But there are many good bikes - that never get loose after torque wrench also they have lock bolts (gooseneck bolts) on the all main axles and pivots. For example Kona bikes, Kellys, Santa Cruz, Propain...

      Merida factory? Didn’t know. I thought Giant Made everything?
