Spesh did many people a solid with this bike. I bet it's got so many people into riding all sorts for not very much money.
I did a similar value build when the Status 160 frame was on clearance. It weighs a ton, but that doesn't matter much downhill. I picked up a cheap, older Z1 fork and converted it to coil. It's extremely capable for the price. The extremely slack front end does take some getting used to on tight turns, but it is very stable in a straight line, especially on steep stuff.
How much was your frame?

I agree with all the decisions in this video except putting paint over the logos on your wheels, it makes it look like the cheap off brand rims that company's sell
The spank wheels have 6 logo’s 3 each side over kill. Maybe I shoulda kept 1 per side 🤔
Hell yeah I have the same rig. Spank rear wheel and hub, dh tires and 155 5dev cranks. Find the stock suspension super fun

I run the spank 359 on my aurum and previously on the Jeckyll before getting the carbon wheels; for the price, laced to a 350 clone or real DT it's a solid combo...
Your in the the know. The clone 350 from spank is a good option too.

Thats sick but you can't put coils on these my friend put that exact one on it and it snapped in a week, he warranted it and it broke again. If you look it up they don't work well with the stroke cause it puts a lot of pressure on the stanchion causing that part to snap.
It's the classic specialized link design, the lever is so long a minimal misalignment snaps shafts.
I suppose that's why at some point they started to cross brace frames on stumpjumpers.
Certain coils are strong enough to survive. I have a 2023 super deluxe coil on levo but the version before wasn't compatible.

Complete guess here. The status competes with both the Enduro and the stumpy so I would assume they’re going to delete it forever and not make another one.

You might break that coil shock. Because of the yoke design
that's only a worry for Coils that have a have a thin damper shaft such as the super deluxe
@@Tr_Fast Super Deluxe is fine, at least according to Specialized. The DHX2 is the one that snaps easily.
