Thanks for this video. I was seeing a discrepancy in comments saying Cloud IIs and IIIs were better than the other, and this video helps frame a good reason as to why. I'm not fond of their product quality given my experience with 8020 printer. Annoyed to see another big brand is under their e-wasteful belt.

If anyone's worried about durability, I've had mine for almost 2 years and use them pretty often - they still look and sound great. I don't usually travel with them though, big headsets like these aren't really that portable.

Ok, so this is a microphone review but.... It is unfathomable to me that people compare and even like IEMs. My headset of 15 years, a $30 plantronics branded office headset absolutely dominates the pair of HIGHLY TOUTED IEMs I bought. I was basically confused at how IEMs were garnering so much support so I thought, ok I will buy a highly touted budget pair. They are terrible. I literally laughed after plugging them in to my audio amplified "Crystal sound" motherboard. I absolutely HATE the scam artist audiophile reviewers who claim these things are great. Seriously, the pair I bought from amazon had 10k purchased... and 4.2 stars. When I listened to them, they were so bad it boggled my mind. I even downloaded a free equalizer software "FxSound" and tweaked the frequency ranges and improved the sound about 15%. Suffice it to say, IEM<Headset<Headphones<Speakers. I mean, this product segment is a scam. Please let me know what I did wrong or how to understand the positive reviews.

sound rejection is no longer a thing anyone should care about these days. discord literally has it built into their software, every nvidia user has their own, amd has their own, linux has one built in, mac has one built in, and so on. so what's important is having a Clean mic. ML/AI noise suppression is a godsend

Here is the best way to define them, as i heard you call these "Headset" way too many times. Headset = Headphones with a microphone, commonly sold as gaming devices and frequency response is rarely prioritised, and are usually expensive for what they offer. They are a product of convenience, not quality (90% of the time). Calling these a "headset" is a bit of an insult to it, honestly. Commonly only made by gaming companies like Logitech, Steelseries, Turtle beach etc. Headphones = What you think of when you think of something with a headstrap with two drivers. Come in all kinds of prices and quality ranges and what most people will use at home (Especially if, if they need a mic, they'd use a desktop mic on an arm or stand). May or may not need an amplifier depending on their type, and impedence. An example of these would be the HD6600 or Hifiman Sundaras. Clip-on Headphones = These ones, basically. Headphones but without a headstrap. All the confort of earbuds but the quality of a headphone, but due to them clipping to your ears they cant be too heavy, so they are almost never too "high end" as size and weight is a limiting factor. IEM (In Ear Monitors) = Small drivers that go directly in to your ear canal, usually with silicone tips. These will almost always hear "in your head", and lack soundstage. Many people also find them uncomfortable. An example of these would be the Moondrop Quarks which are of a similar price to these, but generally considered to be higher quality, but lack the soundstage of the ones in the video. (Silicone, incidentally, is the material used on the headphones you showed in the video, on the clips that go behind your ears. So no they will not "crackle away". Silicone cannot crack, not unless you freeze it, as its similar to rubber) Earbuds = Similar to IEMs but they sit on the lip in the middle of your ear. Think Airpods. Commonly the worst all around qualitywise, but are comfortable and convenient. These aren't hard and fast definitions but they are certainly a good basis.

idk what settings you were using but ive never heard the blackshark v2 sound that shitty.. props to jbl though for having a mic that can sound well after some adjustments. my brother uses that headset it was given to him. out of the box the mic sounds like ass but we use voicemeter banana and got it sounding great. even better than you did in this video. edit: im using the wireless v2 pros. i guess the wired headset has the bad mic.

$20 is impressive and all for being $20 but this homies voice didn’t change from what he’s recording this video with to the 100$ one. 100$ one beats the $20 and obviously should but would I pay $100? Hell no!

I just went to see and, at least in the User Manuals, the wired version still includes the bag in the Pachage Contents. The manual of the Wireless version says nothing about a bag.

Thank you. Very useful review. I have 2 Clouds, quite old, and I love them. The only 2 problems I found were: 1 - the leather(y) ear pads came appart, but lucky enough I had the spares, which I find better; 2 - the rubberized surface became sticky and gooey; The problems are mostly aesthetic, but I was considering buying a new one. Knowing that the most important feature (the sound) is ruinned made HP lose a customer.

They both sound good not much of a difference but the Kimuras sound better but not like crazy better so the turtle beaches would be fine for anyone especially since they are cheaper
