@@TTangOutdoors I’ve had the best luck with red shallow divers there! Top water poppers are a go to also! I’m 3 hours away but make a few trips every year it’s the closest lake I have for largemouth bass and I’m in Manitoba

Smoothness the same. But for sone reason, the Fuego felt a little more fluid maybe because of the magsealed oil

@@dplr13 I haven't really paired the Fuego SV with a light or even medium light power rod and those would be better for lures under 7g. I think it will do just fine. But the Salamandura SV 103 will do better because it has a 32mm spool compared to the 33mm on the fuego. You can look into the Salamandura SV 70 if you mainly throw lures under 7g.

Thanks for the info! I have not had the need to open up the gear box side but assumed it's all metal. It does feel pretty solid tho. The rotation is really smooth and quiet.

@@TTangOutdoors actually you do not have to open the gearbox, you can check the side wall of the gearbox next to the spool. You can easily see the gearbox is not a whole piece of metal. It is where you put your ring finger when you are holding it. I hate to point it out, but once I know it, I know it. The reel is good, I prefer the older version.

Some of mine do a little noisy on the retrieve some absolutely quiet. I think there's some QA issue on the FM. But even with a little noise you would feel or hear it on the water fishing. There's the normal noise that the rotar naturally make when spinning very fast, that applies to all spinning reels it's a pleasure sound. But I think you're talking about the unpleasant noise like "za za za" or discrete da da da noise? Some of my FM has that...

@@TTangOutdoors for me out come from the box without anything load have little " za za za " 🤣 i though it was fron body not from pinion or main gear inside or bearing..mybe its just normal noise for all shimano spining..i have kastking zephyr 1000 but its more sillent compare with out come stradic fm..for smooth both of reel do same but ofcouse stradic more technology ☺️ thank for replying my comment

It could be uneven grease applied on the main gear or pinion. I've spun 5 FM 2 of them have a little noise the other 3 are perfectly silent.

I have the Fuego and tatula CT as well and I don't like the ergonomics as well... greater caster tho. This new 100 frame is really comfortable! I used to get bruises from the old 103 frame not this one! I still accidentally touch the brake dial but not as much as the old frame

Our lakes in Southern Saskatchewan are full of them. I only catch them ice fishing and they are everywhere probably the easiest fish to find. Usually when you get to deeper than 15ft you can find them. I use small tungsten jigs to catch them. Not sure if that's helpful at all. It's kind of location dependant.

It is helpful. Thanks I’m looking at a small lake with clear water that has some. I’ve read that they are fussy about thermocline. Will try jiggin this week up in North Eastern Ontario.
