Hey, I'm Holly!
I love to work out, laugh, sleep, listen to country music, and be around my family and friends. I work daily to source motivation from others and pay it forward to my personal training clients and anyone else who needs it. I believe that nothing worth having comes easy and that life's short so we gotta get busy living (as my Dad says).

How to Use Heart Rate Zone Training for Better Running
Great video - I want to start running and I have never heard this advice before. This is really useful. I’m going to try it. Great coaching! :).
Gotta love COROS all day💪🏽💪🏽 my friends still think its a weird unknown brand. They Only bethinking bout garmin..
Are you using a chest strap for HRM or just using the watch? And do you find the HRM of the watch accurate?
I use the arm band from COROS for HR - I show it in the middle of the vid! I find it to be quite accurate compared to when I’ve worn a chest strap.
I like the Garmin Enduro, lots of battery life!
I really like your approach - very sensible way to balance work/life and other learning goals
Thank you!! I’m happy to hear that.
These are all SO true! Very well said! As a Running Coach, I go over this same thought process with my athletes. The goal I am always aiming for is to build their confidence AS I build their workload. Much Love!
I have the Pace 2 and I love it. It is ultra lightweight and it has all of the functions I need + Coros keeps upgrading the app and adding new things.
perfect running watch? suunto race s with zonesense,. Coros no
Love this!! I’m on vacation & enjoying all your videos …to improve my understanding of HR & different zones and all things Holly 😊
Thank you!!! Love sharing your tips that have been so helpful to me as a new runner at 57 yo!!! It’s 11 weeks into training
Garmin Enduro 3
you're thoughtful, thx!
How is the visibility on screen when it's very sunny?
I just got my Coros Pro... I like it so far.
Well for my fitness needs I needed long battery life anything to last a long time I started with fenix 7x it’s a mip display I love it 2 months battery life with solar 👍😄 But I did keep one apple device AWU 2 black titanium for my meds & track of heart yes I do use the LTE features good handy to know I can phone free some times 🙌
YT recommend me this video 😄nice finally yt algorithm gets what I want Yh I’m constantly watching anything to do with sports watches
I have the Garmin Fenix 7X pro and I really like it other then the MIP display. I've been considering the pace pro or even the vertix 2x. Great video btw!
Thank you for putting this video out! It was very helpful!!
Got the same watch, love it 🎉
oooh i don't need a new watch now, but for the future i'm debating between coros pace pro 2 or the coros apex2 pro. I'm a klutz and walk into walls, so I'm thinking i need the watch with the better glass. Do you find the Pace Pro 2 to be easily scratchable?
I started with the Garmin vivosmart 5, it did everything I needed. But I couldn't read my pace while running, so I went for the Garmin Forerunner 55 and now I just switch. Vivosmart is for swimming and treadmill, forerunner is for running and cycling since it has a gps built in. In the app it does show the same data, besides the metronome, haven't found that feature yet. Great video, loved watching it!
12:11 The COROS Heart Rate Monitor with Band is $79. Additional color bands are $15
Thanks for clarifying! Sorry about that.
It is going to be a little cheaper than $79 with my code in description at least 🙂
I think this was incredibly helpful. Even if you aren't a tech person this was nice to hear from a person that actually uses the watch and more than a month of use for "testing". Don't get me wrong I watch a lot of tech videos, but I always feel lost (as a non-tech person too) in the information they are giving. I'm glad you did this as I've been looking into this watch as well. I just got their heart rate strap from this brand for Christmas, since my watch keeps dropping my heart rate and will say it's only 40bpm when I'm halfway through a run 😂 ❤ Thank you!
That is my next watch. Thanks
Bought my first Coros after watching one of your earlier videos...
Great video! We both bought COROS per your recommendations! We’re still learning how to use them. 😊 We looked at the Garmin but the cost was too much for both of us.
Great info!!
Good review, COROS has come a long way but you must not have used a Garmin in a while, My Garmin 965 does all this as well with 6 day battery life. I think both of these brands are pretty much keeping pace with each other in regards to features. I actually went back to Garmin after using the Apex for a couple years. I do use the COROS HR arm band with my Garmin and agree is really a good product. I think you might be misunderstanding the broadcast HR feature, I turn this on to pair with other compatible devices. Just turn any HR screen on your watch to see real time HR if that is something you want to see. Keep the gear reviews coming, you did a good job on this one.
Thank you for the feedback! Definitely room to improve on my gear recs :) and I absolutely know garmin has made a solid product from day 1! My journey with run watches/timing and evolution of the updates from both companies led me to COROS but I fully fully get why people love garmin always! Thanks also for explaining the broadcast HR feature. I still like using it how I explained in the video but will check out what you explained as well.
@@gofarsogoodnice review. To clarify. Broadcast HR is for when you want to send your HR to a piece of equipment that can pickup Bluetooth HR. Essentially like your COROS arm band does but uses your watch optic HR reader. You want that off if you don’t need that service. Your watch will show you a HR on its screen as long as you set it up that way. Not related to broadcast HR.
@ ok thank you.
I also don't understand why Garmins are so popular among athletes. I follow a guy on YT who has a sports lab, and they never "won" his tests in terms of data accuracy, and yes, so many watches are dying quite quickly. I didn't know Coros up until recently, but I own a Polar Vantage M2, and it's a great watch with lots of features. Even on a week with a high training volume, I only need to recharge once or twice a week. In my opinion, Apple Watches are not for athletes.
Thank you for your video. I tried this and felt amazing and did my best 3km as a test. But I seem to be experiencing more pains in my body since changing to this way of running. Do you have advice on this please?
What type of backpack do you recommend for carrying gear?
I love both Nathan and Ultimate Direction. I did a big video on gear breakdown fairly recently so check that out - but both brands I really love!
doing my first ultra in Texas this march, both my pacers just told me they couldn't make it. This video was perfect, i believe I can do it by myself now!
@@UA-camabuzer1923 I’m so glad!! I think you definitely can.
Since watching this I visualize moving my hips forward as stepping on the gas pedal
I used smaller bend in the elbows and faster arm movements to immediately increase my cadence. It felt great, but couldn’t do it at a slow pace so my HR kept going up and I became short of breath. Would love to be able to do it at a slower pace. Will be trying your method.

I’ve heard a LOT over the last year about perimenopause and running and how running when you’re older can affect weight loss. I’d like your thoughts on this , if you have any?
Thank you Holly for your inspiring videos and positive energy throughout the year. I love your videos and you have helped me to stay motivated and have been super helpful. I admire your hardworking ethos and you should be so proud of yourself 🫶🏻 I wish you a very happy and fulfilling year ahead 🥳🙏❤️
Thanks for the videos through the year, the running slowly while maintaining cadence really helped me. Best for 2025!
Although I've cut down quite a bit with watching UA-cam and being on social media, I thought I'd watch this vlog - well done! Seeing other people living great lives when mine is so challenging doesn't do me any good, hence the reason for reducing the screen time. Regardless I will continue to watch your awesome channel when I do hop onto UA-cam, because I've been following you for so long. It's my small way of showing support. Very happy to still be a Patreon; those workouts are the best! Happy New Year to you!!
One of my absolute favorite supporters! I’m glad you liked this one. And two new workouts will be up on Patreon by morning :)
@@gofarsogood Aww - thank you! Can't wait for the new workouts!
Are there any strength training that would help the process of increasing one’s cadence? Thank you for this video! I’m early in my marathon training block and planning to increase my cadence.
Thank you for taking the time to shoot this vlog in between your busy timeshedule! I noticed you'd been to NY on your insta, you did only mention it twice, instead of a hundred times ;) Hope you had a lovely time there and enjoyed the holidays on the end of this year!
Hope you had a great holiday season. Great video as always. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!! Hope you did too.
Thank you
With a running plan/script, if life, weather, or injury cause you to miss a run, you get stressed! What relieves stress? Running! But you can't bc of injury, so when you can run, you double up, risking injury!! Ugh! So what are the 3 runs? Fartlek/Hills, Tempo, and Long Run?
Thank you for this! It is as if I have been given permission to not feel guilty if I don’t run every day and do a different type of workout. Now I run 3 or 4 days and genuinely look forward to it.
I so agree! I have been doing 3 runs a week for the last year and I think it’s been truly ideal for my progress! It allows me time to strength train and not feel overwhelmed!
Between family, work, and grad school, and with my injury history, 3 runs a week is really my max, so this is reassuring to hear!
