Seriously this couldn't come out at a better time. This is PERFECT! I have been doing hip stretching and strengthening to help with my posture and running gait and didn't know how to incorporate that with a running schedule.
Awesome!! Glad to help.
One thing I learned was to reduce the weight and perfect the movement! I was humbled grabbing the ten pound weights at first but I focused on strengthening the tendons and ligaments and ensuring that my rom was correct! It’s definitely a slow process but I see the fruit of my labor in the absence of pain🙌
Lately I've been doing a short Heather Robertson plank video after my run. Highly recommend.
My strength exercises are my body and some of the ones you show, which have helped me. Thanks.
great video! I just started training for my second marathon and still want to keep doing strength workouts as well. my passion is CrossFit and hearing you say that we can actually pair 2 workouts (run/strength) on one day is really motivating! thank you
When I first saw you on running I was super impressed at how broad your shoulders and arms were.
I know size is not optimal for running but I find this kind of "balanced" physique great, but I struggle to manage recovery and injuries when doing both running and exercises especially the shin/quads.
I’m the opposite. I can handle strength training. I’ve done it for years. I’m trying to be a runner and it’s very difficult. Ugh.
Maybe I can do a video on the reverse of this!
Yes please
New workout vids on the way 👍👍👍
This is a great video. I agree wholeheartedly with this advice, 2 years into learning to run. I wanted to say thank you for the live Q & A you did the other day - your specific guidance on cadence work versus speed was absolutely brilliant the way you explained it - i pushed cadence (from 165 previously to about 174) to help relieve impact pain as you described, and "accidentally" ran my fastest 5 and 10ks as training runs on my next two consecutive runs. Keep it coming!
Thank you Holly, super helpful as always 😀
Holly!
Thank you so much for this comment! I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, despite tough circumstances and setbacks. I’ll definitely keep making content for you guys! It helps me too.
@@gofarsogood You are amazing. Thanks for replying :)
Love this video!!!
question, i'm currently in an area with no hills, how else could I incorporate those?
I like parking garage stairs or treadmill! Even if just for some repeats!
What is your opinion on a training plan that is longer than a week, like a 10 day training plan? I’m trying to prepare for an Olympic distance triathlon, and I’m not sure I can fit everything in (and a recovery day) in 7 days.
