With absolutely every system creator we follow, the biggest red flag with a creator is if they cannot fathom to think below popularity or basic sense. Angel Dust? The media takes concepts like redemption, religion, abuse, death, intense topics and mature topics. Very much easy to understand how a DID/OSDD system who might have trauma relating to these things (specifically religion) can latch on to hasbin hotel. Angel Dust is a character that to our knowledge is struggling with redeeming himself, keeping true to goals, disappointing others, damning himself, relapse, etc. Very relatable and extremely in depth things systems who struggle with healing and stuff. Literally everytime we see someone fake claiming a system for being fictive heavy, having fictives in general, or anything, we think they just do actually know how the brain works nor how fandoms and stories can portray deep meanings.

Ah yes calling people with mental illnesses damaged and broken, so fucking pog dude. Real expert opinion, 10/10. /S Spoctor is a prime example of someone who reads a single Wiki page and arrogantly decides that they are as educated as a doctor and can be the arbiter of truth and information. I've learned to laugh at people who shit on introjects of fictives, factives, and non-human alters. I'm a space dragon, I'm one of the oldest alters in the system, the other fused with a different alter and is now our main gatekeeper. Out of the 13 total alters we have right now, only TWO are human. They only formed within the past 3 months, 🐤 formed one month ago. We have a fucking worm on a string as an alter. My weighted therapy plush, who I replicated inner world, became an alter. We've had some form of DID since we were nine, and our body is 24 now. DID is absurd, but it's a useful thing and the absurdity of how it works is WHY it works. Brains are strange and work in mysterious ways that help. Having DID/OSDD is morally fucking neutral, no matter how strangely a system is composed. It's not a crime to have this disorder and it's not a crime to suspect you have a disorder, sometimes you will be wrong on your journey to find out what is wrong. Sometimes we NEED to be wrong so we can learn the correct language to communicate what we are experiencing.

10:45 TRUE!! like, don't technically all children before age ~7 have a dissociative personality bc their brain still growing? people with DID just didn't integrate their personality yet - and WOW SHOCK, turns out that harassing someone for having trauma ISN'T conducive to integrating!!! turns out that just traumatises them further!!! oh, what's that, harpy? you know that, because ur SO SMORT, and ur actually doing this on purpose because you feel superior and absolutely MUST tear other people down to feel good about yourself?? huh. well, yeah, Collective knows that already :^) much love, drinkssss

I watched the Split and Moon Knight cinema therapy videos, and i got recommended this. I don't have DID, but I learned so much watching this video. If I've learned anything, it's that there's no one way or set of ways that DID will manifest, that it's not a state of brokenness, and that the best source is always first person in discussions about DID.

A compilation of me reacting to things that are probably not that important but I reacted anyways: I'M SORRY DO YOU NOT KNOW ANGEL DUST'S LORE???? "WHAT TRAUMA"?! "WHAT TRAUMA"!? In an exhausted voice: just because someone is a singlet doesn't mean they're mentality stable. Wait what, private? Where did they get that Oh my, Oliver found you Maybe they were retelling a moment when that happened and spun for comedic exaggeration- I don't think that deja vu song to wet fart sound was playing when it happened irl. Trust is definitely needed. I'm a singlet, I don't have any disorder (to my knowledge), I don't know this person's life. All I can really do is trust they're telling the truth I had heard about "autopilot"- with the body still around, maybe doing something, but nobody's fronting atm. I mean, it can be a fade. Also not everybody experiences things the same way. Stickler for the "rules"? Yeah why are we going after those with a trauma disorder- children with a trauma disorder at that is he trying to compare DID to alcoholism-itstksbeNORMAL SIDE??? Closest I can think of a """""normal side"""""" is a Core, but- wtf is a "normal side"????? Oh God is he about to go after Persecutors A tree has various parts but they're still a dang tree I've met systems- they're lovely, how dare you demonize them and say they're all self destructive. "Can't make normal friends"?? Okay this is even more personal than it already was. Also what is "normal"? What's normal to you isn't normal to others. Don't demonize medication please I'm someone who uses all pronouns, but I don't believe they're using "it" in a positive way- more like they're trying to dehumanize those with DID. Bad. "Hopless case".... (Just lies down for a minute) "Normal individuals" Jeez that vid is, wow. Please don't demonize DID and attack people- especially children. OH NO FLUTTERING EYES THE HORROR 😱😱😱 MMMM SPLIT. I did a whole essay on how destructive that movie is (consulted with a system and watched CinemaTherapy's video on it to gain a therapist's view as well as many other systems' view). As said before, I've met systems and so far they've all been lovely. Is it chaotic? Obviously, it's a group effort. Does that mean it is hopeless? No! Since we've gone to gender, I'm genderqueer and genderfluid; but you're not gonna know that unless I tell you. You can't read my mind, you don't know me or my life. No! No! Don't you dare go after the fictives! Don't go after any alter but right now we're talking 'bout fictives, so don't you DARE claim someone is faking because they have fictives!

After uncovering my therianthropy and having visions of a sort of caretaker figure, I've kinda been in the process of figuring out if this is something that stems from DID. This video is a really good representation of how the views of a neurotypical lead disordered individuals to question how real their disorder is, and has lead me to be more firm with my BPD diagnosis. Really, I should consult a legitimate professional but I've been through so much therapy and a laundry list of meds and I feel like I'm finally developing a solidified identity. Not to mention the adhd, autism, generalized anxiety and major depression on top of my borderline. Plus the language of "splitting" being shared on top of all the other overlap just makes things even more confusing. And I understand that labels are just labels but its important to figure out how to represent how you feel accurately, and I absolutely don't want to feel like I'm lying to myself and end up misrepresenting did. There are so many little different details that make up a disordered mind, Like for example my fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, and intense emotionial shifts are what really differentiate things but simultaneusly add to the confusion. All in all, super important video. Also, in regards to the tree metaphor, bpd feels more like a plate being shattered and glued back together rather than a tree And shoutout to the dog discord server awawawa

"spoctor" has a war flashback also on that first part: im a system member and we have a glamrock freddy fictive because when we went through a very traumatic breakup during which i lost ALL of my friends, we found markipliers security breach playthgough very comforting and glamrock freddy himself. it was very difficult for our little because she was very attached to her and she needed a new caregiver thus glamrock freddy because he was so comforting to her. no one really talks about(that ive seen) how sometimes alters form because of other alters and not the host ykwim? like i do not feel the imense comfort from freddy that she does if u get what im saying? also security breach is not comfort media for me but it is for her

Yeah, there also seems to be a particularly strong hate-boner for fictives, especially ones that come from modern media. I'm glad that your little has a buddy she loves and trusts! Every alter has different needs, and there really shouldn't be any shame around the alters that form for any reason. The same goes for multiple alters of the same introject or original part.

Thank you for your take, and for not jumping on the dissociadid hate train. I really respect them and their work and it was difficult for me to watch the way they’ve been treated, simply for trying to make the world a safer and more comfortable place for people with did. I think it’s fair to say that they’ve been through enough. I enjoy getting to see an autistic perspective on did as well, haven’t come across much of that but I’d definitely be interested in hearing more from you. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm only half way through but the way my system presents is very covert. My switches were hard to even identify to myself, let alone for other people. Our switches are pretty much always a slow fade out/fade in, that's literally why we never notice them. We only are able to snap between alters if we're really freaked out or we make it happen. I hate how people just... assume all of us are going to have the same brain processes for each system. If humans have so much variation, why is that suddenly not the case with systems?

The problem is, whether they are faking or really think they have it, or trying to cope with real symptoms they are experiencing, they are putting out faulty information. This harms people living with any type of dissociation, whether it’s a symptom or a disorder. I don’t have a DID diagnosis though it was suggested as something I may want to pursue one day. I didn’t have many symptoms at the time but it frequently doesn’t fully manifest until you are in your late 20s or early 30s, and I experience a lot more symptoms now. My official diagnosis was CPTSD with dissociation. I had fugue stages in high stress but now I will have issues in low to moderate stress situations. Sometimes I’ll have a random blank out and not know what I was doing in a completely neutral day. I don’t introduce myself with a different name but sometimes I’ll develop a New York accent. I do not enjoy my dissociation and if I do get a diagnosis I hope to fully integrate because I would like to have as few mental health issues as possible, for my own well being. It’s difficult to not remember what you were doing, lose things because for some reason your phone ended up in the freezer, or meet someone you met yesterday who you don’t remember. I hate that I cannot remember a whole two year stretch in my life. I don’t like that I’ve blanked out for very important meetings. It sucks, and painting it as fun may help people cope, but it just made me think that I don’t have it until I met someone recently who’s diagnosed and has very similar symptoms. Untreated mental illnesses is always self destructive at times. It has to negatively impact your life to get diagnosed. If you are dissociating and it isn’t harming you, then it’s likely a symptom of something else. If they made disclaimers like ‘I’m not diagnosed yet but I do experience these symptoms. I don’t know if I have trauma, because of the memory issues. Switches look different for everyone and often go undetected so this is a dramatization for entertainment and clarity.’ That would be so much better. I wish everyone had access to help and this is a whole conversation many mental health advocates are missing, because I don’t know anyone with any diagnosis who doesn’t want or receive care with it.

I am a bit late to this, but if its ok, can anyone give me trustworthy informative people who talk about DID? Maybe even autism, i am trying to learn but i can't tell who is reliable and who isn't.

I took the person spinning as a joke. Like “this is what people expect from me when they ask me to switch” kinda thing

I just took it as "they're spinning because they're making a TikTok." If someone filmed themselves doing a funny spin/dance/wiggle/etc while using the vacuum cleaner, nobody would take that to mean "I always dance while vacuuming," or see it as proof that they never really vacuum! Everyone would understand that it means "I dance when I'm filming myself vacuuming to put it on TikTok."

I know this video is like over a year old but this is one of the first times i’ve seen a system on youtube actually fully debunk one of commentary type channels videos. a lot of these types of videos spread misinformation as you said and I appreciate you guys going through and saying no this isn’t accurate :3

Man, Catholics be giving weird names anything that could vaguely resemble something religious. Passion vine was given its name because it happened to have…three stamens on the flower. And they were like “Ah yes the trinity, passion of Christ!”

HOLY SHIT thank you SO MUCH for making this video; I’m also part of a DID system and all of the attention our community has been getting from the more “mainstream” side of the media (cof*cof* commentary UA-camrs fake-claiming people on tiktok) recently makes me so utterly frustrated and so upset, it’s aways someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about talking about touchy subjects like this, it causes so much harm it’s insane, (like cmon should you really be doing this to kids with TRAUMA BASED DISORDERS publicly) it’s so refreshing to see content like this calling this behavior out so thank you, I’ll be subscribing to the channel <3

So glad we've got the frog cam in the bottom left when the main part of the screen is taken up by images, it means we can enjoy the cute frogs all the way through the video!
