A flight attendant PILOTS an AIRPLANE! Cruising Florida's Emerald Coast in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA
Переглядів 762Рік тому
Nick, a beloved flight attendant at my airline, has spent months hearing me rave about the 'Cadillac of piston singles', so it was natural that he would take me up on my offer of an intro flight lesson in my Bonanza. We picked a spectacular day to fly along Florida's Emerald Coast to Destin. Nick is a natural!

Look out for that SEVERE WEATHER! Flying to CALIFORNIA in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA

Climb aboard AirKinsey as we head way out west for the 100th anniversary celebration of a certain 'Quiet' aviation fraternity. This flight takes us from Casa Grande, AZ (CGZ) to Santa Paula, CA (SZP) via the Banning Pass on a less-than-ideal weather day.
Flying NEW YORK CITY in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA

Climb aboard the Bonanza as I travel to New York to fly the famed Hudson River VFR corridor! Rather than transit the New York Class B exclusion down low, we opted to fly the Skyline Route with an ATC clearance. What an experience! The Landing Gear WON'T GO UP! Formation Flight FAIL in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA
Переглядів 1,4 тис.3 роки тому
Join me on this contract flight to Ft. Lauderdale and learn about my very embarrassing experience at the 2021 Bonanzas to Oshkosh Florida formation clinic. The landing gear on N117EC twice wouldn't retract while I was flying lead. It's common for a formation pilot to be slapped with a (generally deserving) nickname, but in this instance the airplane got the nickname 'Cialis'. The plane "just ca...
Flying BELOW THE BRAVO! Aerial Tour of Tampa Bay in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA

On this edition of FLORIDA FLIGHTS, we depart St. Petersburg's incomparable Albert Whitted Airport (KSPG) in the 'Spirit of Liberty' and fly south toward Anna Maria Island before turning northbound for the trip home to Tallahassee. We stay below the Tampa Class B shelf throughout the flight.
Flying IN THE SOUP! Instrument proficiency lesson with CFII Troy Kinsey
Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 роки тому
Ride along on this instrument proficiency lesson as we fly an ILS in IMC conditions. The asphalt runway at our departure airport was closed, and although aircraft commonly use the adjacent grass strip to take off and land, the closure gave our local controllers a convenient - perhaps arbitrary - excuse not to issue a clearance, departure release and void time on the ground (I received one the f...
Flying into DFW...in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA! How Contract Pilots Make Small Talk on FOUR HOUR Flights!

While I have a passion for flight instructing, I also enjoy working as a contract pilot, hopping from one aircraft to another and helping people get where they need to go. I'm often asked how I pass the time en route. Well, that really depends on my passengers. Some read a book; some take a nap; and some just love to make conversation! Welcome aboard this G36 Bonanza contract flight from Tallah...
ENGINE OUT! Mastering TWIN ENGINE Emergencies--Mock Multi-Engine Rating Checkride
Переглядів 7 тис.3 роки тому
Ride along in a twin-engine Piper Apache as I prepare Cliff for his multi-engine rating checkride. All twins are a handful, but simply getting airborne in this particular aircraft was challenging! After some instrument flight, we run through almost all the multi maneuvers (the exception being a failed engine on takeoff, which I gave him on the previous flight). For reference, 'The Drill' in the...
JABIRU: Australian for Airplane! Learning how to fly an 'Australian Stork' with CFII Troy Kinsey
Переглядів 3,2 тис.3 роки тому
In this edition of Flight Lessons, we climb aboard a Jabiru 250. What is a Jabiru 250, you ask? It's an Australian-designed light sport aircraft that meets U.S. LSA standards (2 seats, max cruise 120 CAS, max stall speed 145 CAS, 1,320 lbs max gross takeoff weight). The Jab isn't the easiest plane to land gracefully, but we love a good challenge here at the AirKinsey School of Aeronautics!
Flying the LOW COUNTRY! Savannah to Charleston in a BEECHCRAFT BONANZA
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
Join us as we fly between two of America's most historic cities in Beechcraft comfort! Along the way, learn a little more about my FBO selection process. It's admittedly a gamble flying into an unfamiliar country airport to avoid big city airport fees, but Mount Pleasant (KLRO) in the Charleston area was a real winner, particularly given the ludicrous fees at KCHS & KJZI!
The Making of a CFI (or 'WATCH ME LIKE A HAWK!')

Ever wonder how flight instructors identify the exact moment when things are about to spiral out of control and suddenly intervene? We're not born with it - we drill for it, over and over and over again. Meet Garrett, who's working on earning his initial CFI certificate and has his hands full with yours truly throwing him curveballs from the left seat during this training flight.

I’m not a perfect instructor myself, just saying when I do mock check rides I will not help the student with anything more than the examiner will. I don’t do anything like help with the instrument procedures, or things to look out for like alts, hdgs, checklists. The examiner won’t do any of that unless the applicant is severely struggling. The purpose of the mock checkride is to see what, if anything, the student is going to fail on. You shouldn’t have to walk the student through the maneuvers as they are doing them. They have been trained prior to this assessment flight, let them perform. Not saying be stone cold quiet but they are there to shine not be cradled. Great flight and video anyhow.

2 years ago you could get those prices but not anymore, double if not higher on all of that! I own a 75 Beech Sierra I paid 63k for in 2020 and now they sell for well over 100k. People have lost their minds on prices. I hope we see the planes/homes/car market cool off over the next year or two.

I do like the video. And I do like how you moderate what you're doing. Plus I do understand the pressure to arrive at a certain time. But we don't cancel an IFR flight because ATC is giving us a hard time. That's bad airman ship. Get up an hour early to deal with deviations. It's part of our job.
