Here's a question. If you were flying the ils, why did your G5 still have purple needles instead of green?
We're you using nav2 for the ils?
Good question! I was actually referencing the analog Narco CDI in the bottom left of the panel. It’s connected to my nav radio (the GPS connected to the G5 HSI is a GTN 625 and doesn’t have a built-in nav radio). The magenta CDI & glideslope on the G5 are technically advisory only.

Troy Whistman Keen observation! It’s gotten noisy, so I leave it turned off (the top G5 has turn & slip/skid indicators & battery backup).
I believe the Turn Coordinator is dead.
Do you have an Autopilot installed?

Was the CDI in the lower left side of the panel accurate?
Yes. For the ILS, it's actually my primary CDI (I don't have a nav radio in my GTN 625, so the Narco nav feeds the analog CDI).
