    I understand that it would be weird for a channel with this name, but I would love to know some data with zero acceleration! As in, the minimum engine rpm for a few constant speeds. Probably 70, 100, 120, 130, 160 and 180 kmh. And a sense of associated noise would be great! Mainly I'm concerned with comfort while cruising at a more or less constant speed. And a big part of that is not torturing the engine and suffering its screams.

    I also have this car (earlier version) and I could see that you put it in "My Sense" mode even tho the car has a "Sport" mode. I don't know if it's because the visuals are different on the dashboard for this newer revision. The Sport mode is quite more reactive, you vould have maybe gained half a second to a full second in some runs.

      @@redaceFR hmm... i think i (probably) did some customization for this MySense mode, that's why it was active, otherwise there would be no reason to choose it over Sport mode. But believe me, from my experience of almost 100 cars tested, Sport mode does almost nothing to improve acceleration vs Normal mode. I perform acceleration runs in Normal/Comfort mode from time to time (although i don't post it in my videos) for fun/reference but the improvement that Sport mode gives over Normal mode is 0.2 sec at maximum for a 0-100 kmh test, which is negligible (you would not be able to tell the diff between a 7.8 sec and a 7.6 sec to 100 for ex).

      @@dragospahontu i haven't tested a 2.5 Skyactiv X, but Skyactiv G (in the Mazda 6 sedan). I have tested 2 Skyactiv X models of Maxda CX30, but that was a 2L engine with 150 and 186hp. For these 2 versions, the 186hp variant was somewhat faster, but not impressive. I personally would never go for the 150hp.

      Hi, thanks for your question! Well, it's been some good 3-4 months since i've driven this car so my memory could play tricks on me, but i think it was pretty straightforward: hold the brake firmly and press the acceleration at the same time. I don't remember exactly if you have to press some DSC/ESP off button.. 🤔

      ​​@@BenPower123 yes, they are! At 214k km at the moment and daily driving the car. I had to replace the EGR some months ago though. For extra info, i had the engine tune done about 5 and 1/2 years ago, at about 95k km and i have done an oil change for the gearbox at about 115k km.

      @@marcojsf4557 hi! It's been quite a while since i drove the car so my memories of this are not that fresh but i don't think there's a specific launch control button. If i remember right, you gotta put the gearbox in Sport, activate DSC off and then you are able to build boost while holding the break.

      @@aidan1585 that hoarse sound at start is because i was trying to break-hold the car for the launch, but the gearbox didn't allow it. Otherwise the sound is more refined.

    Thank you for this video. My intention is to by the 2024 model Captur with this engine and there is no review with this engine on UA-cam. I'm not expecting any changes in respect of the performance for this year model. The 29.9/100 liters/km instant consumption is a lot :)), but this will not change my mind about the car.       Glad it was helpful! Regarding that consumption number, it is what it is, all cars have a consumption of 30L+ when flooring it hard. I remember i quite enjoyed the car. Pretty spacious for it's exterior size, decent handling and quite good rolling acceleration (like when you have to overtake).

      Exactly, I ordered Captur 2024 by the end of July and this is the only real review I have found since then. Only full hybrid reviews, when this is the best (from my point of view) and most powerful engine for this model.

    Comparing to T-Roc 1.5 TSI 150cv, the main difference is that TSI revs up to 6500, making 120 in third, whereas TCE changes to forth at 6000 and then 80-120 becomes slower... Appart from that, their times are very similar. Renault please, rev it up!!!

You are commenting on another video too (the X5 40i) where you claim that it's "real" 0-100 time should be 5.6 sec but you have no problem stating here that a car with 60hp less (moreover, a diesel) is a full sec faster to 100. And bare in mind that this X3 is a heavy car, it's not like it's 300kg lighter than the X5.

      @@AcceleratingCarsThis has been a regular firmware for a long time, just through the power, not through the moment. On the ST2, the car produces 460-480 hp and 0-200 for 14.2.

      @@dragospahontu Dar nu cred ca Toyota Highlander are versiune diesel, deci sa comparam chestii asemanatoare cu Mazda tot nu se poate 🙂 Pe mine Mazda asta testata nu m-a dat pe spate... La cat de putin am interactionat eu cu masina, nu as putea spune chiar multe chestii. Imi place forma generala exterioara (mai putin "evacuarile" alea deosebit de fake), interiorul nu m-a dat pe spate, nici prin design, nici prin calitate/lux. Nu e slab, dar nici wow. Un lucru pe care il tin minte precis e ca sunetul cand inchizi portiera seamana cu sunetul unei usi glisante de la un Dokker Ca dinamica, se misca binisor spre bine. Nu poate face fata unui X3 30d sau unui Q5 de 3L, dar merge respectabil, are reprize bune.

      Hi! I do not know what the combined torque is, that's why i did not mention it. What i know is that the combustion engine has a torque of around 220Nm and the electric motor (which is integrated in the transmission) has 200Nm, but you can't just add those 2 up to get a system output.

      Engine is 220nm & 178hp (PS), electric motor is 120hp (ps) & 200nm. Toyota doesn’t quote the true figure as it depends on % of battery, oil temp of engine, altitude, odometer, fuel level, many different factors. The true figure would be around 380-400nm combined if the battery is at 75% or more

      @@aidan1585 Correct figures. Now the combined true figure is still something open to debate... I did some extensive calculation and comparison but I can't find the paper anymore with my results. But from the top of my head it was something around 270 Nm combined torque, which is rather disappointing. The acceleration figure of 8.3 sec from 0 to 100 kph isn't all that good to begin with. Toyota could have gone ahead and released at least a torque interval. Remaining completely silent about it is imo not okay. 218 hp (EU spec) and 270 Nm could be compared to a mildly turbocharged 2.0 gas engine, that is tuned for constant toque rather than peak torque. Do you drive a Camry hybrid? Sorry for my late reply btw.

      @@Abszurdista-fatalista I do not, the true figure is north of 400nm, I have driven them and been in these cars over one hundred times. They drive as if they have the same torque as a BMW 520d mild hybrid. The Camry has that type of torque that feels like you are being hit by a train from behind. It is very powerful. This is the inferior Russian built Camry. Japanese built Camry hybrids do 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and 0-100km/h (62mph) in 6.9.

      @@aidan1585 Mine is "Made in Japan". Frame number also begins with a "J". I don't know with what letter the Russian built Camrys begin. I agree with you: Especially in "Sport" mode the car goes like a rocket, yes it feels like being hit by a train from behind. I never clocked acceleration on mine, but I can tell you, It sure feels quicker than 8.3 sec 0-100 km/h. I occasionally drove the Mercedes E 320 CDI with 470 Nm back in the days (rated at 8.3 sec 0-100), and there's one thing I am sure of: My Camry hybrid is a LOT quicker. May I ask for the source of your numbers (6.9 sec)?

      Hi, good question! No, it's actually not. What happens is that i use an external antenna for the GPS device, which is by wire, so the passenger window is down like 3-4 mm for the antenna wire to pass. That's where that hissing sound comes from 😉

      For a 1.7x ton diesel sedan with only 190hp i would not call a sub-7 sec 0-100 slow. Once the speed gets higher, OK, you can feel it's starting to suffer and that diesel torque is no substitute for top end power, but again, looking at the stats, i would not call this car slow.

      Absolutely no stock GLC 220d can get under 7 sec for 0-100 on flat ground. As for your E220d (nice car btw) being MUCH faster... I mean, how much faster? Tbh i'm not sure if it's faster at all...

      I own a Mercedes and I am a fan of Mercedes, but a E220d can't be faster than this BMW. Gearboxes from BMW are one of the fastest.

      Pleaca foarte bine de pe loc, 0-60 e chiar respectabil. Dupa ce trece de 100, 110 se vede ca sunt doar 190 de cai, nu prea mai face senzatie.

      @@AcceleratingCarsla mine e exact invers, fiind manuala si tractiune spate. 325d lci, 2016, 218 cai. 0-100 7 sec best time, 80-120 in 4.3 si 100-200 in 20.49, best time. Pentru un biturbo de 218 cai, e domol pana in 100 la ora

      @@VladVVT 200+ cp cu manuala si tractiune doar spate nu e chiar usor de lansat 😉 masina din video pleaca f bine pt ca are xDrive si cauciucuri noi si bune. Valorile la startul de pe loc sunt importante la 0-100 si 1/4 mile, dar in viata de zi cu zi sunt mai importante reprizele 60-100 si 80-120. Am mers si eu cu un BMW cu motorul de pe masina ta, desi o versiune mai noua a lui (cea de 231 cp), un X5 25d. Vreau sa spun ca reuseste sa miste ditamai caroseria/masina chiar decent. Nu faci senzatie, dar merge cat de cat. Daca te intereseaza, e printre primele video-uri de pe canal, cred ca al 2lea sau al 3lea.

      Hi Cedryc, thanks for the question! It is that way because in the table i put the best value recorded while doing that particular test. So although i got a better 0-100 time while doing the 1/4 mile run, the best time when doing 0-100 accelerations was 9.94 sec 😉

    I have a Mazda 3 manual Skyactive X 2wd and the power surges very high in the rev range so I think output is much lower throughout the rest of the rev range, therefore headline figures are deceptive, a graph would reveal all! It's a lovely car to drive when you get used to it and fast if you rev it to exploit the high gearing in the 1st 3 gears but it's clearly engineered primarily for economy. It has a crank driven supercharger so doesn't deliver much power at low revs but I do love it! I wish they'd used a bigger battery to give more hybrid electrical assistance at low revs if anything but it's a brilliant car all the same. It's the only compression ignition petrol engine in existence as far as I know and will no doubt be developed further.
