I just taught about that scripture from 1 Peter 3:1-17 in our women's study group and it was my main scripture on the fruit of the Spirit of gentleness. And why this fits is because God is sharing he doesn't want us so focused on our outer beauty that we forsake the growth and beauty of our inner selves because that is what God treasures. And a lack of gentleness (strength in control) would mean we are focused on controlling situations instead of trusting what God has given us and blessed us with. Beauty IS fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Dont let this culture of focusing on all things superficially cause you to fear what is normal and beautiful in its own way and let your roots grow down deep into Him!

Truly , the beauty standard promoted to young girls today is one of the root causes of mental illness in my opinion. More and more women are obsessed with their outer beauty and neglecting the beauty within. Loved the message in this video.

Love all of this 🙌🏽 during the latter years of my 30’s the grays started growing. I initially thought these are my “wisdom highlights” and embraced them. But as more grew & became noticeable the more insecure I felt. All of my friends were talking about gray hair in such a negative way. So for the first time ever I dyed my hair & continued for a few years. Until I hit 40 & something changed! I desired to be true to myself & that meant embracing my God given “Wisdom Highlights” I will admit it’s not the easy road going against the grain but I’m standing strong in my convictions! Thank you for this encouraging reminder 💛

It's so hard being friends that get botox and lip fillers. Obviously everyone can live their own life the way they want.. but I start to notice my own self compared to them and it's hard. They all go to the salon, gym, nails done, botox and fillers.. etc and it's even harder when I see that after we had babies. I'm here in survival mode and their out treating themselves with the most vanity. It's hard :/;

I think instead of watching what to buy videos, its best to watch what not to buy videos. And also realizing a lot of things that influencers want to push you to buy with your money, they get for free, and/or earn commission.

I live in Alberta, Canada. Winter is certainly our longest season and can last 6 months. A few years back I really switched my mindset to embrace winter. Did I really want to be miserable half the year!? No! Since having kids I’ve enjoyed winter even more. We pack summer full to make the most of the weather and by Sept I’m so ready to start to cozy in and slow down in the winter months. Nothing better than playing outside, getting the kids in a warm bath, fresh pjs and making dinner in the dark ❤

Finally coming out of a post partum funk, I’ve been feeling very easily agitated since my second baby was born. She’s 5 months old now and I feel like my eldest, who’s very headstrong, has really grated my nerves with lots of fighting back on things she used to not and being over stimulated most days doesn’t help. I noticed I was a lot more angry and raising my voice or threats of punishment more those months and I know sometimes the punishment wasn’t really as warranted as I felt in the moment it was. She’s just a normal little toddler. Almost three. I have to remember that, and that I’m setting the example on how to manage our emotions and interact with people when we’re frustrated… not proud of myself for becoming what I said I’d never do. I’m so glad God has been showing me these types of videos and letting me know my anger needs to be simmered down. ❤️🙏🏼 lots of things and emotions got stirred up for me after becoming a mother, like the analogy you used, water sitting on the counter but when it gets tapped there’s sediment rising from the bottom. Becoming a parent has been a lot like that, facing old traumaras and realizing some things that were done when I was growing up were not ok or normal.

Loved seeing the kids in the snow!! Loved the wisdom in this video too. Winter is so hard for me personally, but I’m trying to embrace it and find beauty in each season God gives us. For us, that looks like more movie nights under the blankets, family game nights, hot chocolate and baking more with the kids.

I switched to a flip phone 6 months ago. It's a cheap tracefone from wal mart. Not classy. Has GPS t9 texting and phone calls. It's 15 monthly and was 30$ to buy the phone itself. I've never felt better.
