My store to be fair has recently expanded all it’s blu-ray sections. The 4k & boutique stuff especially. When i asked in store it was in direct response to sales being up. If they ditched all the pop culture swag they’d likely go down again. After all that’s the old business model which repeatedly failed. This business model seems to be working and it gets young people in who then hopefully might also get interested in physical media so i think it makes sense and is necessary for them. Yeah they rarely miss mate in my experience. I love their taste in what films to release too. Regardless of the genre, if second sight release it, it’s often a seal of approval and worth checking out. Cheers Aidey 👍

I suppose with lower budget, indie entries, especially in the Horror genre, people have to shout a bit louder and over sell it to get the word out which might result in people like yourself feeing a bit underwhelmed. I didn’t expect too much from it but really appreciated that it tried to be a bit different in its storytelling and enjoyed its period setting. @@ElectricGeek - Yes, I voted for The Terminator. Rewatched The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day at BFI IMAX on 29th August (Judgement Day!). That’s 21 times I’ve watched T2 at the cinema. My all-time favourite movie. Never get tired of watching it. 😎

No bother Jimmy mate, hope you enjoy when the time comes, tho to be fair if ur very familiar with the film you could still listen to it as a pod. It doesn’t stick super rigid to the film. A few rabbit holes are visited lol 🐰🕳️

That's awesome that you seen it on it's original theatrical run! Do you think this new transfer is authentic to how you remember seeing it way back then? I came to it much later but it's a great little thriller with such a memorable turn from the late great Rutger Hauer. A release like this also helps to put it on the radar for new generations of movie fans too 👌 Thanks for watching mate 😃

You are welcome my friend, thanks for taking the time to watch! 🫡 As for the audio, I did cover it briefly within the video but incase you missed it I listened to the atmos track. I have 5.1.2 setup in the room i review my discs in and it certainly sounded decent for an Atmos reworking nearly 40 years later. Never gonna be a demo disc for audio but it's the best way to listen to it in my opinion if your atmos capable. Hope this helps mate 👍

Yeah fair one, if u’ve watched my review of Aliens i actually like it but it’s very much a revision as opposed to a restoration / remaster. Maybe a bit careless with my wording in the video but all i meant was the hitcher looks very authentic to its source / filming process. aliens n’ true lies look planets away from theirs. The hitcher was being worked on and updated publicly on for about 2 years, Cameron’s 3 recent transfers were more secretive and appeared pretty much all at same time with varying results / success. I don’t doubt tho that the individuals that worked on them did their best. Thanks for your comment my friend 🤝

I’ve never seen green room, need to check it out. Sorry u didn’t enjoy it mate. Like i say in the video, it’s no demo disc by any means. But for something shot on film 20 years ago, i thought it looked great. More the hdr than resolution. As u know it’s not a flashy film. It’s got a fairly monochromatic colour palette but the highlights, contrast n’ shadow detail help considering it’s shot mostly at night. My recommendation was the blu ray but if ur a big fan and/ or enjoy HDR especially, then for a couple of extra quid the 4k is worth it IMO. I personally don’t like paying £24.99 for any release. I’m always looking for a sale, but that’s because i’m a tight scotsman 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😂

I’m not surprised the Netherlands acknowledged him like that. He was a great actor. Although his villainous roles are probably his most famous / iconic, he’s great as a protagonist too. Great range. A unique charm and watchability. Thanks for your comment mate 👌😃

@@ElectricGeek Some examples, Basic Instinct, T2, Red Sonja,Cliff-hanger, New York Ripper, House By The Cemetery, etc. The cyan look was never there before on previous releases.

Didn’t know that mate, would explain why it’s such a great performance. The new interview with Robert Harmon is really good and he shares some cool anecdotes about working with Hauer. I’m looking forward to watching the retrospective piece on Hauer also. Cheers man 😃

Rutger 'Hauler' 😂Not sure if you meant that but i like it! 👍I like Rutger also, he's got such great on screen presence and he doesn't really have an equal in my opinion . I need to checkout his early dutch work admittedly but I enjoy of course Bladerunner, Wanted: Dead or Alive and Blind Fury. Hobo with a shotgun is worth a look too if you like gory, comedy horror! lol Second sight are a great label and I've got a decent relationship with them now so there will be lots more reviews like this to come from them.
