I still rent DVDs because it’s the best way to enjoy new movies without dealing with internet issues or waiting months for them to hit streaming services. Rentals often have films just weeks after they leave the cinema, giving you that fresh movie experience at home. Plus, there’s no buffering, no subscriptions, and it’s always exciting to look forward to the next movie. Streaming is great for older films, but renting lets me stay up-to-date with the latest releases, and that’s why I stick with it!
I've been using Cinema Paradiso for over a year now and its a fantastic service for all of the reasons stated. Postage wise, things are quick for me, but being based in Wales at the end of the M4 probably explains the speeds I see, against the issues that you've seen(?). Only had an issue with one disc which had a crack from the centre. The 1 disc at a time is the perfect service to compliment my physical media buying habits. Great video, keep up the great work! 🤙
Awesome mate, good to see a fellow fan in the comments 😃Yeah someone who subscribed off the back of this video commented saying they signed up and got their first disc the next day! Must just be where i am 😢you guys will be really gold value for money then 😃 I feel 1 at a time compliments my buying habits nicely also. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Nothing to lose mate getting the free trial. Good for trying out 4K too, see if it’s worth it for you. Get some of ur faves and see if u notice a difference 🧐 Thanks for watching mate 👍😃
A great service literally like Boomerang for games similar tier set ups. The 45 minute messing about is so true done it all the time. Way round it was we put all things on watchlist onto a random generator wheel that’d pick for us. Saved that hassle of deciding 😂 Great video and very informative
Yeah i need to check boomerang out. I wonder if they are connected as companies or totally independent? Yeah netflix has even added a random button and that suggestion thing but it means nothing as u know u can back out and pick something else in my opinion. Cheers mate, one that had been a longtime coming lol
Thanks brother this is really interesting I'm old enough to remember love film and know that Netflix started off as postal rental too. I even remember a R18 version that circumnavigated the law by shipping them from Scotland to the rest of the UK. I didn't know that that these services still exist, to me it makes sense for pricey 4k discs.
I actually made reference to love film and Netflix renting films back in the day but it got left on the cutting room floor lol The video was just too long (and probably still is 😩lol) Didn’t know about the R18 version! Trust us scots to find a way round the law 🤦🏻♂️😂 Anyway it’s definitely a good way to ‘try before you buy’ 👍A £25 blind buy is something not many of us can honestly justify or afford right now. Thanks for watching pal 😃
Such an interesting topic. I can't see myself doing this myself as I'd much prefer doing this with a local shop (if I could find one lol) but I'm still so happy this is available in 2023! :D Great topic, Andy. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching man 👌😃 A rental store would be awesome, as u know i actually have one close by but he can’t turn a profit renting the premium formats so it’s only dvd and only really brand new releases. Cinema Paradiso’s range is unmatched by any store and the blu ray / 4k is where it’s at for me ☺️
I did use Lovefilm back in the day but I'm someone who likes to own my films but I will find some titles I want to see and not own for the 2 week trial so thanks for the heads up, I had also not heard of CP
Thanks for checking out the video mate 👍 Yeah i also like to collect physical media but not everything is worth owning as you'll know. For me a lot of stuff's a one time watch, it doesn't need to sit on the shelf forever more. Should def try the free trial. When you use my link i noticed it offers you 30 days as opposed to 2 weeks. Not sure if that's because it's an affiliate link or just a new promotion but worth trying the link to get more films for free 😃👍 Hope you enjoy pal
@@ElectricGeek thanks and yeah you are right not everything is worth keeping, I sell a lot of stuff on ebay and just keep the films I love. My backlog is a bit crazy right now but I will keep CP in mind for the future.
Late to the party on this one mate but solid video as always. I bet theres so many people out there (including me) that had no idea you could still rent movies!?! Keep it up Andy, and congratulations on the 1k subs! 🎉
Thanks man, appreciate you watching mate 👌 Yeah i think there will be loads. I notice adds from them on social media a lot, maybe i’m kinda looking for it but sadly on some posts on FB / INSTA i’ve seen movie fans really slagging them and giving them a hard time for even existing in the streaming age. Just uncalled for and sadly from people who also buy physical media 🤦🏻♂️ They can’t see the worth but i don’t get the hate 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway, it’s genuinely a great option, especially for more niche movies or people who are on a budget but still want the goodness of blu ray or 4k 👌📀😃
"on some posts on FB / INSTA i’ve seen movie fans really slagging them and giving them a hard time for even existing in the streaming age" Yeah I've noticed that too. Those aren't movie fans just morons. According to them everything is on Netflix. @@ElectricGeek

Let's give this added bonus to the good old postman who now has a fulfilling job by posting the movies 🎥 to us letters 🔤
I'm renting in 2024 😂

Used to use LoveFilm for DVD but renting 4K is of interest
Definitely worth a look mate, get 4 discs as part of your free trial 👌
For me post box is far asshame they can't do door pick up
Yeah it has it has set backs for sure. Not everyone within ‘slipper range’ like me lol maybe they’ll offer pick up one day 🤞🏻
Checked out the subscription cost and it seems now it’s £15.99 a month!!
Yeah it’s gone up since i made this video sadly. I’m on a deal at the moment. £8.99 for six month 👌
