The Simpsons and Me: Treehouse of Horror VII (Election Day Special)
Well given that there's an election and the Simpsons best take on elections is featured in a Halloween Special, I figured I'd just knock Treehouse of Horror VII off the list to close out Halloween. a sort of picking back up phase after VI was a bit lackluster. Love this special, definitely Oakley and Weinstein's best Treehouse of Horror

To close off this Halloween Season I take a look at the turning point for the treehouse of horror series. Gone is all the fanfare and early installment attributes of the series and what we have is an attempt to streamline the production, for better or for worse. I love their retelling of The Raven, with slight issue. I hate the parts where Bart interrupts. They said, in the audio commentary, that it was because the part wasn't funny. But the interruptions are not funny either, and they break the flow of the story.

The only presidents that weren’t of the “two-party” system were the first two. Washington and Adams, Sr. Washington was unaffiliated and Adams, Sr. was a federalist. The was a Whig party but that party was pretty much proto-republican. And he’ll, the first two possibly can count due how integral both men were to the creation of the United States of America (especially Washington), the political party not officially being a thing since the country itself was brand spanking new at the time and how foolish it be to have anyone else besides those two to be president at the time. It seems futile for this country to work on a political grey area. May be the case for the rest of world that isn’t under a monarchy. 🫤

Maybe that's because too many people say its their favorite or it's been rated so highly over and over, but I like the different feel of six! @generationwhyentertainment2455 I figured they just didn't want to retreat on familiar ground with 5. Plus, I love five but honestly I felt the teachers eating students was the greatest amongst the stories. Four had some great parodies, and admittedly, I did like Krusty's opening sequence- but then again, I'm a sucker for the Headless horseman. I do admit the intros have been getting far shorter after this point. Besides that, six still have some good gems to it and Homer did make some hilarious jabs that is CG itself was expensive and making the most of it. If I really had to start complaining I'd say its after THH 8 is when they truly lost their touch.

Dude. You shitposted the shit outta Kirk Van Houten saying “two spaghetti” meals. Lol. You talking about the second segment leading you to watch the Nightmare on Elm Street series and getting the references the the segment was parodying reminds me of one of my own incidents with such a thing. Back when I started watching family guy in the in the early 00s, there was a bit of Peter wanting to draw a a pool construction guy (his eyes were too close to his nose, lol) and until a few months ago, I didn’t know it was a reference to a movie. I thought it was just a funny gag. Then I saw Something’s Gotta Give and I just started laughing when I saw the origin of the reference. I have a couple of more but this is just the first I could remember of the top of the dome. Lol. Willie being burned because of the shitty school budget is hilarious and him just sitting there, burning, while the faculty talks about the budget is icing on the cake. Rossi Taylor? 🤷🏽‍♂️ did a hell of a great scream for Martin. 😄 Homer Cubed is definitely a nostalgic moment for me because it’s one of the earliest moments that I watched ToH for me. And I really liked it. I tripped out when I first saw Homer (and Bart) in 3D and the bird’s eye view of the grid being sucked into the black hole creeped me the fuck out. I think there’s a psychological aspect to the creepiness other moment. Dunno. And the ending when Homer falls into the real world is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. I know it’s green screen and special effects but for sometime I wondered how was that even possible. I think I have a better appreciation for this ToH than you do (it could be nostalgia doing the heavy lifting, who knows) but, at best, I’m barely a casual Simpsons fan (until 05-07?) and you’re obviously a diehard so you know better than me on this. 😅 Happy Halloween and until the next one.😈

This was always a favorite to revisit on vhs because of the 3D segment, I love everything about it. Then again, I also love the movie Tron, so there you go. It was always a big hit with nerds then, kids who grew up with Flight of the Navigator, E.T., and Explorers absolutely also had Tron on the shelf. Not for everyone, but there are some more erudite computer gags in the background in that segment, and the imagination soars at the thought of Homer in the real world. For me the low point is the giant ad one, I remember watching the first time with family and all of us being surprised it wasn't more scary, given previous years. Willie was an odd fit for Freddie as a character, he's a background comic gag elevated to antagonist and it only kinda works for me, but they did fun stuff with the dreams.

Regarding the 'Trash not having any marks on her after reviving' thing. For some time now, it's been my belief that her greater exposure to 2-4-5 Trioxin, her being naked in the heavy rainfall plus the large amount of rain water that spilled onto her in the backseat of Suicide's car (which possibly got in her eyes and mouth), essentially killed her early on. She wasn't on the same level of 'dead' as Frank and Freddy, but she was a goner. By the time the zombies were surrounding/swarming her, she was borderline flatlining, and just happened to die before the zombies would've torn into her. Could be what happened. May not be. Makes sense to me though.
