- Clerks is one of my favorite movies of all time, despite all the bad things I've said about Kevin Smith, I'll always love Clerks
but how was the movies two forays into the small screen? well one didn't make it to air, and one only aired two episodes before it got cancelled and only carved out a cult following on DVD so. - Фільми й анімація
I remember actually being excited for this show and remember seeing a few promos leading up to its premier. I think i must have been around 13 years old at the time and remember watching the only 2 aired episodes and coming back in week 3 to be disappointed that it wasn't on the schedule anymore. Me and my friend used to do a weekend marathon every month or so and rent all the then released kevin smith movies on vhs and then later renting the animated series dvd as part of that marathon.
I didn’t even know wtf it was (granted I was younger. I had only watched clerks the first time in 2003 and discovered the show shortly after when I was in grade 8) but it had a certain charm to it it’s on that “wish it would have succeeded but happy it still exists” list with The Oblongs and Mission Hill

I have a sister that was 9 years older than me, so any kinda indie scene film that was popular at some time she had in her vhs collection, and I would dig though it while I babysat my niece, I think i found clerks in her collection with that eye catching pre-viewed block buster sticker with $2.99 written on it and then became an instant fan of it.
But we probably got lucky that being said. Look at what has become of clone high!

I remember watching the show on Adult Swim years back. It was funny, but… felt that it was Clerks in name only. I liked it though. The live action one looks… not bad? I get the humor and I feels like a run-of-mill 90s show. Definitely a product of its time. But, it SHOULDN’T be called Clerks. I do like the Sequel less, now. Part 3… hurts to watch, ugh. I’ll never hate Kevin Smith due to his influence on me, but Goddamn… oof. But, he ‘s doing the Adam Sandler thing: make whatever he wants regardless of the negative reviews, have fun with it and living very comfortably with it. A dream we can all aspire to.
If Adult Swim existed 5 years earlier and had a much bigger spending budget, several adult animated shows Like The Oblongs and Mission Hill would of lived out their intended runs. Damn.
Why Napoleon Dynamite? I really don’t get it, outside that final dance scene, the show doesn’t do it for me and every time I see Napoleon, I just wanna punch him until his face is unrecognizable. The slap that Rex gave Kip does make me chuckle over how douchey it looks.
Hey have you heard of The Eltingville Club pilot? It’s really good. It’s on UA-cam and have Spanish and Japanese dubs. Please watch the Japanese dub (better if you’re familiar with the English dialogue), it fits unbelievably well.
Napoleon dynamite is severe case of you had to be there.
A lot of these shows existed only because networks wanted their own South Park and the simpsons. So adult swim existing may or may not have made the difference
Yeah I’ll check that show out for sure.
On the cancelled shows. Practically all of them found their audience in Adult Swim and found success through that. Maybe Adult Swim wouldn’t have made a difference, but the chances where going to be more prominent. Timing and impatience can be a mean poison.
