While I agree with most of these, I _really_ don't see Webber as any age older than maybe 9 or so. While Webber is arguably the most responsible in behavior, I don't think it's fair to assume it's indicative of their age. All I'm saying is that no 11 year old is going to be asking for a nightlight and still using words like "blankie" and "ouchies" and the like. Personally I've always pinned them at the youngest, specifically 8 years old both because of the arachnic pun and also because that seems like the late cutoff point for a little kid to still be using terms like that. More clever people than me have also managed to essentially carbon-date Wendy's age to being 10 exactly, based on the dates of Jack's letter (which states that "the twins" were already born) and Wendy's journal entry from 1914. Which makes enough sense, older than Webber but still young enough to consider them a peer she's not embarrassed to play with.

While I agree with most of this video, I take umbrage with the idea that Maxwell and Wendy don't recognize each other, or at the very least that Wendy doesn't recognize Maxwell. Wendy's a smart kid. Maybe even the smartest among the Survivor children, and there's absolutely no way Jack Carter didn't talk about his brother being a twin. Wendy's definitely smart enough to see this man who has the exact same build, face, voice, and accent as her father and put two-and-two together.

Can you make a video on merm origins? Ive been studying and so far what I have is: so you know the gorge? When you lose you get turned into a merm and we can see that existing merms on the island slowly lose consciousness as the gnaw starves. We also get info on merms who swam away and i think that the gnaw gives them consciousness and when they leave they slowly drift away into mindless beasts without the gnaw. There's a ton more stuff but its like 4am and im saying this now to increase the chances of you seeing this.

I keep forgetting that the ancients also have that *lunar* section (not the grotto) therefore im most inclined to believe that originally went underground to hide from Alter and believed something in the fuel would help them fight it

I honestly struggle to stop seeing Nightmare Fuel as a metaphor for oil. Allows for very useful stuff to be made with it, elevates society, but poisons it in the process; and eventually, dooms everyone and everything. Plus powers that be (Canebearer in this case) just keep pumping more fuel despite how bad it got already. That's besides it looks pretty much the same.

If you haven't seen it already, I would _strongly_ recommend 'Aura | Don't Starve Animatic' by Vixen Doe. It's really fun, focuses heavily on the ancients, and the song fits _so_ well.

My belief been that the gateway existed before anything ancients have built. There's prolly layers of this like another civilization had got themselves built it or shadows invaded the world and this was some people's doing to stop it. The rebuilt gateway doesn't feel like it was how it was supposed to look like in the murals, but an updated version of it schemed by the ancients to probably use more rules to pour more power into the grid they carved from runes and magic they learnt from shadows. There's also a possibility that this world had went through so many cycles and multiverses that it's changing shifting and mutating slowly everytime there's new entities involved, thus Fuelweaver knows how dire it is, wanting no more than just to remain asleep forever while knowing how torn apart the world is.

I wonder if there is anything past the ancient gateway... is it forge? is it gorge? or is it Them? or, perhaps, all of them at the same time?

This definitely stinks of the concept of yin and yang. You need both the shadows and the lunar powers to be equal to create a world like the Don’t starve characters originally come from. When the ancients first tried they probably had too much lunar power which forced them underground, then they had too much shadow power which corrupted their forms. Now we are attempting to harness their powers and eventually we might be able to create the yin and yang required to leave.
