Keep up the amazing work here, you've been killing it with the video ideas!
I think wilbur could be added to the game if the monkey course worked vice-versa on it; instead of turning into a momey, it'd turn into a human. That would be interesting to see
I think of all the characters, Wilba would be interesting. First she could have interactions with Woody over their Werecurses. She would be another child for the kids group. Plus she does get things from the Pigmen as a passive. Maybe give her some perks like Wurt does with Merms. She would also do well with Walter as both love adventure. Plus... I think a cute story between Wurt and Wilba would be awesome. Wilba is also a native to the constant, and her home is a floating island in the clouds. She would be an amazing character to add to DST.
You have single-handedly made me love don’t starve and don’t starve together together, even though I never played the game. I would love to have more content
If you think about it, Walani is likely from the second half of 20th century and Woodlegs from the age of pirates. Maybe that's why they can't appear in the constant at Wilson's time
Honestly, the way to go with Wilbur is honestly to lean into the fact that he's basically already Wonkey Deluxe. Make the Powder Monkeys neutral, to him, even the pirate raiders, make him immune to the Wonkey curse, give him the ability to travel Moon Quay in peace, and let him understand the Queen's monkey speak. You could even make Splumonkeys from the underground neutral to him as well. And if you turn his crown into an Exclusive Item, you could use it to recruit Powder Monkeys and Splumonkeys as minions, similar to how he had Prime-mates in Shipwrecked. I personally think Wilbur is a fine fit for DST, better than Walani, TBH. She is simply too basic, being mostly a beginner friendly character to learn the ropes of Shipwrecked with no real substance besides being, as you put it, Wilson with a surfboard.
My headcannon is that the Moon Quay pirates are his descendant empire after taking over the shipwrecked world, I mean who knows whats been going on over there
I find the Wilbur section really funny actually, cause back when I first got into DST I (for some reason) surprisingly had a bunch of ideas of how he could've been aded into DST, like I genuinely believed that monkey had good potential for a rework of sorts. Realistically that would pretty silly to actually add him in thanks to wonkey, but still really funny to think about now.
Out of the characters, I think walani and wheeler would be the best picks to add. Wheeler is such a great concept with the boss fights of dst with her more movement based gameplay, and she has a rad voice in game.
A couple of things to add on: -You could just scrap the entire Sanity thing and just make him gain a sanity bonus on the ocean -Woodlegs has multiple quotes referring to watermelons being his favorite food so that could be his favorite food -The Sea legs canon should be unique to give him more flavor and utility -The woodlegs lore would go so hard -In all fairness writing the quotes for either wilba or woodlegs for all the new things in dst would probably be torture -They’d also have to redesign him slightly as most mods that add woodlegs show us that shirts and shoes are basically useless for him (more of a niche point) I think that’s about it
Walani says her favorite food is seafood gumbo, Woodlegs says his favorite food is watermelon, Wheeler mentions/hints her favorite food is scrambled eggs (omelett is the closest we have to that in DST)
New characters should just come with an insight tree, would make characters like Woodlegs also much easier to balance. It give the devs the option to make the Sealegs just a basic boat if you dont invest into it and absolutely busted if you do at the cost of everything else.
i think it would be really cool if woodlegs, instead of getting a premade ship, just get easier access to building ships, and maybe can learn to build unique things for ships, like cannons. but i wouldnt be mad if the cannon used ammunition crafted from things, just like walter has for his sling. I think it would be a really cool fit in the end
Hearing this talk about character dynamics made me realize how funny Wes is i love Wes' character so much, he's just some random guy who wants to bring joy to all of the dying survivors while everyone is so sick of Wes, i imagine Wilbur, despite having a similar characteristic of not being very vocal, wouldn't have nearly as interesting of a dynamic with the other survivors because he's just "the funny monkey that is dumb and also a monkey"
I really hope they introduce some DLC characters to DST, I think it would be fun! My #1 pick would be Wilba, even though she's not that much likely. Woodlegs would be INSANE as a new character with his Neo Sea Legs!!! Imagine if he could make special hats or costumes and make everyone ride his boats like a group of pirates! It would be so fun! (We did kind of get that with the Moon Quay update but you kind of have to steal it from dead monkeys lol) Anyway good video, and you should totally make the version for Hamlet characters!! :D
I feel like wood legs would probably need some way of giving an effect of being by/in the sea to make it so, as said in the video, wood legs’ sanity doesn’t drain very fast. Maybe his hat could do it? Or even maybe sanity gain from wetness (like in wurts skill tree)? Or even some form of mini-sea turf creation kit?
Just seems redundant with Wonkey being in-game. Either they update Wonkey with Wilbur-inspired update or skill-tree, or end up retconning Wonkey and just adding Wilbur in his place. Not really like there's Prime Apes to really take advantage of his actual class benefits. Only real benefit would be regular poop drops and throwing poop at birds ig
Wonkey can stay as a debuff & wilbur could be immune since he's a monkey, might be able to hire powder monkeys & pirates. May have crafts using the accursed trinkets while also finding them in other loot area's (e.g. graves, set piece chests, junk piles, ruin scraps, ectra).
Here is a random idea that i came up with to add into Walani’s set What if she could make some beach related items? For example a frisbee that can be used as a cheap alternative for the boomerang, or a drink bar for making drinks with multiple effects for her and other survivors, like one that makes you gather faster in exchange for getting a hunger drain increase, or one that gives a massive sanity heal but makes your controlls temporarily reverse (totally not just alcohol)
okay but hear me out if wonkey can understand the queen monkey in lunar island imagine the characters that turn into wonkey can understand what wilbur is saying (yes a long shot but i thought that would be interesting)
If i renember correctly when you spawn in other survivors via console commands in Don't starve classic you can inspect them for different dialogs, that could help your videos in the "getting along" department.
I doubt someone would ever be against adding more characters to their favorite game, especially established ones like these. Hopefully they will be added along with Hamlet and Shipwrecked content into the game, will be super fun.
I can see Wilbur being added as a NPC like Wagstaff. Maybe with a questline to do with the Queen of Moon Quay and the Powder monkeys. Would definitely like to see your takes on how the remaining Hamlet characters could be added, if at all.
I always thought it was so weird that WORMWOOD was the hamlet pick for DST, where warly I feel was definitely the best call I feel like the hamlet cast, especially wheeler could’ve been very interesting
They should straight up add all of shipwrecked and hamlet. I’m fine with hamlet’s stuff being merged into the constant, but shipwrecked should be a separate world type. It’s the only thing tying me to the original DS.
the skeleton character (wilton) is said to be woodlegs if you start in a RoG world, since none of his personality would work in RoG, it would be a joke curse
@@douan6363 you know, it really does bug me that Wilton, Winnie, Wallace and Waverly are still unused as player characters. Sure Winnie was reimagined into wigfrid and Wilton is the default skeleton. But still something about unused characters just irritates me. I do hope we get frog Webber and the shamlet mask when webber gets a skill tree.
Most of all, I would like to see Woodlegs added to the DST. I also have an idea how to make his stay in caves less difficult: when eating fish dishes, the loss of sanity decreases for a while. For example, if you spent 4 days on land and ate fish, then your sanity decreases as if you spent 3.5 days, but gradually the loss will return.
I think woodlegs shouldn't have his personal sanity drain in caves, as it is a place full of treasures to find. But besides that you got a solid concept for him: i was wondering how to give his old boat back, but a cheap package that gives all the main features of a reasonable boat is a perfect idea.... Also giving the cannon a cheap resource to use as ammunition (like 4 rocks = 1 cannon ball) instead of infinite shoots to balance things a little
one thing i don't like here is that Walani and woodlegs are separate characters, it would be so much easier to have a DST character that likes to explore and stay in the sea with the ability to create a base there. but becauuse they are two different characters and how the items have been split up it's hard to give them a role that doesn't blend together. a DST Walani concept based more on exploring both land and sea would concider it a blessing to have woodleg's spyglass. meanwhile a woodlegs that focuses on beating the deep blue rather then exploring it would desire anti-wetness protection and a ship that could move much closer to how a grounded player would do. (i don't think a DST style raft would suffice woodlegs) add to that (as of now) how little content there is on the blue side of the blue marble (or is it the black marble here? cuz constant) and i don't think a character based soly on the ocean would be a good one.
Imagine if they just took inspiration from other media and added Woodlegs, but gave him an ATV-style landboat that drags on land but would keep his sanity in check for stuff like caves trips and bosses
Woodlegs is one of the few characters actually stating their favorite food before favorite foods were ever added. Much like Woodie. Woodlegs has an obsession with Watermelons. (I feel not enough people know this, so I'm just putting it out there ^^)
I’d imagine if (hopefully when) these characters get added in, I’d imagine they’d get reworks like everyone else. The Klei devs did say back in 2020 that it’s not impossible for the characters to come into the game, just that they weren’t working on it at the moment.
18:02 The Nile is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa. It flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile is the longest river in Africa and has historically been considered...
If they added wheeler I would change players so fast. Plus for every other character they could fit in pretty easy, but for characters like wilba it would be hard since their whole thing is hamlet and that world, so they would have to add not just characters but other game mechanics, like the royal pig citys, single person boats or the volcanoes. We'll that my take on it or they could bring back the world crossing mechanics.
I think Woodlegs would like honey ham cause it looks like gold (and would make him rivals with Woodie) and Walani's a pirate so maybe banana daiquiri for the alcohol content?
I feel like woodlegs could also work if his sanity worked in the way that he wouldn't have a sanity drain at all on land but instead that his sanity was gained when on a boat! That way while sailing and stuff he'd be constantly gaining sanity. If the boat takes a hit/is damaged his sanity takes progressive hits as well and when a boat is destroyed he straight up loses 50 sanity or something. I feel like he iskinda the only one who could fit into dst out of all the ds characters at this point. And maybe...HIM...you know...but he's gone doesn't exist anymore so yeah
personally i think wigfrid is too stuck up for walani. if she wasnt tho, theyd be a good pair indeed. i think walani would get along well with willow and wortox
Wonky just needs 1 skill point that being, starts with a cursed trinket slot, and the ability to start with them from the portal. He's not actually a bad character. The monkeys are just too hard to find early game where he would be the best.
honestly the best thing that would be made is just adding shipwrecked and hamlet world do dst... and like we have portal activity on the Moon Quay island why not use this as jumping through different Constants? and with this all the characters from old ds could be added. I know they probably won't do it but I am also being delusional. Also I heared something about Walani having possibility of being in together so maybe one day?
Even with the surfboard in its current state Walani would probably end up being a water version of Walter, should she be added with her shipwrecked kit. Useful early game but becoming more of a challenge character later on, probably even a bit more challenging of a challenge character since shes slingshotless and doesnt have a cool tent. I think the focus would rather need to be on buffing her so she can find a niche, dst characters have been powercrept immensely from their ds days
Walani would make a great addition to DST But she requires a huge rework, she's a blank page atm, you can go anywhere in terms of balancing with her I say, ditch the surfboard completely and add something different
Honestly, if Wilbur was added, I feel like the following changes would be made. 1. Wilbur wouldn’t be affected by the monkey curse obviously. 2. Wilbur will get a skill tree while Wonkey doesn’t. It is a CURSE after all.

The only character that DODGE hunger ticks. She can DODGE starving.
@@BiddoBamss Maybe fix that bit…
Also, removing her invincibility frames from her dodge could balance it.
@@RookTVchannelconsidering the madness that is other characters and a very similar skill based character in Wanda having a character with a dodge and higher than normal range she would fit right in to be honest
Super happy to see this new video here! I absolutely adore the SW survivors and always wanted to see them added to DST, so this vid spectulating on how adding them in could work and any possible character interactions is real fun to see! Keep up the amazing work here, you've been killing it with the video ideas!
I think wilbur could be added to the game if the monkey course worked vice-versa on it; instead of turning into a momey, it'd turn into a human. That would be interesting to see
Humanoid Wilbur makes me feel funny...
What if the new Sea Legs was light and fast instead of slow and tanky, and had a Pinchin' Winch pre-installed instead of a cannon?
Ohh, less combat focused, more scouting focused? I like that!
That would also encourage players to search treasures more in early game
I feel like a faster boat would encroach on walani's niche in this hypothetical scenario.
@@samumohacsi True....
@@BiddoBamss what if instead of a cookie, it looks more like a rectangle with a triangle at one end.
Realistically that would pretty silly to actually add him in thanks to wonkey, but still really funny to think about now.
such an incredible channel, been craving for DST content like this for a long time now
keep up the incredible work!!
I think Wheeler would fit so good. Walani and Wheeler were my fav characters in basic DS
Yeah I can't wait to be talking about her!
Out of the characters, I think walani and wheeler would be the best picks to add. Wheeler is such a great concept with the boss fights of dst with her more movement based gameplay, and she has a rad voice in game.
Wheeler's dodge is like a Wanda with a simpler setup and that's really fun
Let wheeler in she deserves it shes so awesome
A couple of things to add on:
-You could just scrap the entire Sanity thing and just make him gain a sanity bonus on the ocean
-Woodlegs has multiple quotes referring to watermelons being his favorite food so that could be his favorite food
-The Sea legs canon should be unique to give him more flavor and utility
-The woodlegs lore would go so hard
-In all fairness writing the quotes for either wilba or woodlegs for all the new things in dst would probably be torture
-They’d also have to redesign him slightly as most mods that add woodlegs show us that shirts and shoes are basically useless for him (more of a niche point)
I think that’s about it
Walani says her favorite food is seafood gumbo, Woodlegs says his favorite food is watermelon, Wheeler mentions/hints her favorite food is scrambled eggs (omelett is the closest we have to that in DST)
Honestly, character interactions and how they'd be with the others WOULD be so awesome and make funny stuff go on
New characters should just come with an insight tree, would make characters like Woodlegs also much easier to balance. It give the devs the option to make the Sealegs just a basic boat if you dont invest into it and absolutely busted if you do at the cost of everything else.
I see! You didn't talk about Warbucks because there is a whole video about him coming!
I guess... Maybe. Perchance.
i think it would be really cool if woodlegs, instead of getting a premade ship, just get easier access to building ships, and maybe can learn to build unique things for ships, like cannons. but i wouldnt be mad if the cannon used ammunition crafted from things, just like walter has for his sling.
16:32 PULSE AND ANXIETY FROM THE FEAR AND HUNGER SOUNDTRACK SPOTTED YET AGAIN!!
(We did kind of get that with the Moon Quay update but you kind of have to steal it from dead monkeys lol)
Anyway good video, and you should totally make the version for Hamlet characters!!
Wilbur would absolutely fit in dst, we have the moon quay and he would definitely have some special crafts.
Here is a random idea that i came up with to add into Walani’s set
What if she could make some beach related items?
I just want wheeler, she is my favorite
I feel like you'd enjoy a lot wrtitting fanfics
the skeleton character (wilton) is said to be woodlegs if you start in a RoG world, since none of his personality would work in RoG, it would be a joke curse
Oh that would make sense :)
@@changvasejarik62 maybe you should write this in the klei forums. developers read all of the posts
(i don't think a DST style raft would suffice woodlegs)
add to that (as of now) how little content there is on the blue side of the blue marble (or is it the black marble here? cuz constant) and i don't think a character based soly on the ocean would be a good one.
Imagine if they just took inspiration from other media and added Woodlegs, but gave him an ATV-style landboat that drags on land but would keep his sanity in check for stuff like caves trips and bosses
love him or hate him, warbucks' battle cry was the best joke in video game history
Woodlegs is one of the few characters actually stating their favorite food before favorite foods were ever added. Much like Woodie. Woodlegs has an obsession with Watermelons. (I feel not enough people know this, so I'm just putting it out there ^^)
what about wilburs character interactions 😢
M,mm,,, Monkey...
@@octoplaty9545 Hello Monkey
you forgot to mention Wigfrid's interactions with Woodlegs!
one speaks entirely Viking the other entirely pirate
I’m going to count “Grape-shot cannon” as a Bloons reference
the next upgrade is automatic fire in a radius around your boat, mimicking thr sub sonar.
I think Wilbur would work better as an NPC added to the game, maybe you could help him overthrow the current monkey king and gain some favours
you mean the moonkey queen.
ya it would be cool
Klei: No, next question.
Yes I do mention that :)
I’d imagine if (hopefully when) these characters get added in, I’d imagine they’d get reworks like everyone else. The Klei devs did say back in 2020 that it’s not impossible for the characters to come into the game, just that they weren’t working on it at the moment.
You should make a video rating the crimes that each survivor comitted. We all already know that there are murderers amongst them.
12:37 you won't believe me, I found an iridescent gem in those treasures
This video was made for me.
Exactly. This is your video, A_Different_Name. enjoy
18:02 The Nile is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa. It flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile is the longest river in Africa and has historically been considered...
For those who don't get the joke: the nial=denial
I have an idea for ONE skill on woodlegs skilltree called: "siver me pinchers" giving a free pinch'n vinch on the sealegs
Ironic how i got a capn crunch ad before this lol
Also a better food for Woodlegs would be something Fruity as Pirates wanna fight off Scurvy
I think they do want to eventually add shipwrecked characters to dst, though not right now because they want to finish the sea content first
I feel like woodlegs could also work if his sanity worked in the way that he wouldn't have a sanity drain at all on land but instead that his sanity was gained when on a boat!
I think they would only be added it, if they make a huge sea update
Absolutely. Right now, as expansive as the Ocean may be, there's just not enough for a set of characters that excell at the sea and not much else :(
I would love to see Wheeler in DST, I really like her mechanics
personally i think wigfrid is too stuck up for walani. if she wasnt tho, theyd be a good pair indeed. i think walani would get along well with willow and wortox
Willow and Wigfrid would be roommates... at the psych ward unfortunately.
Walani would make a great addition to DST
But she requires a huge rework, she's a blank page atm, you can go anywhere in terms of balancing with her
I say, ditch the surfboard completely and add something different
i can see Wilbur returning, but as a skin for Wonkey
nice vid i'd like to see the hamlet characters fs
can't wait for the hamlet version
i feel like walani should have a balance meter instead of a durability that when crashing into things reduces it
One guess I would make is that Wurt will hate Wilba, but the feeling Wilba has to Wurt isn't mutual.
I was always sad we didn't have an ocean or cave dedicated survivor. Webber and Wurt are the closest
i want wheeler so bad i love her dodging mechanic :(
You should of added which side they would be on. Charlie, the Shadows, Altar, or Wagstaff?
I'll be sure to include the expansion cast in overview videos like those (if applicable) in the future :)
i would love to see a kraken bossfight in the swamp it would be awesome🤑
Honestly, if Wilbur was added, I feel like the following changes would be made.
1. Wilbur wouldn’t be affected by the monkey curse obviously.
2. Wilbur will get a skill tree while Wonkey doesn’t. It is a CURSE after all.
great video
Haven't watched video yet, YES THEY SHOULD

I'll have to study up on my Hamlet characters but absolutely :)
