Having just finished 100% achievement hunting Shadow of Chornobyl as well as beating Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, I'm confident now that being controller friendly should have no impact on STALKER 2 as these games all play just fine with a controller. Honestly if anything I wish someone would take the controller scheme used in these and adapt it to Open X-Ray; controller support on the PC versions of the STALKER games and their crazy mods is pretty much non-existent. I'm excited to see what the promised enhancements and mod support end up looking like!

Why are you negatively presenting the developers' nationality? That's really racist to be honest, cause you ain't saying that they in some way try to justify or speak in favor of the Russian invasion, you just highlight the fact that they're Russian.

if you review a game just review what in the game i don't thing you need to drag russia and ukraina in, just try the game out and talk more about the game not the one who make it. I want you to show the game play, the story, the character and what you think about it more, you don't need 1/3 of the vid to talk about the developer, i want to hear about a mod of my favorite game not some guy try to bring politic into it :/

I actually liked it felt like a sequel to the trilogy. A bit different for sure but its a story driven game not a simulator like the fan favourite mods.

Shame you didn't get far because the new levels made for the game are actually really nice and would love to see them added to a free play mod.

I''m an American, completely free in concept, this game is good. It is a story driven campaign of stalker through and through. I played through it after years and years of stalker and i was astonished. It is a GREAT story. This soy boy shouldn't deceit any stalker player from playing this game. It is a through and through stalker experience that is better than those other mods. period.

You need to try some Slav zone mods. Also I don’t agree with your opinion on this mod. Yes it’s different from your typical mods that most are posting these days but it’s a change from anomaly, gamma, efp, blah blah. It’s something new and fresh looking, so I don’t think you should shit on it for being different it’s still a good mod to play though and it’s still stalker. I’m guessing you haven’t given and of the story mods a try either?

I took a gamble on purchasing the trilogy recently, I haven't played a fps that felt so demanding before. But you learn and before you know your on max difficulty tearing through it like your a action hero and then lamenting the u haven't saved for 45mins. 10/10

it's basically gunslinger with very linear and heavily scripted story, it could be better if the story is actually good and choices you make throughout the game determent the fate of the protagonist

Well this wolfstaker or ap pro he is trying to sit on two chairs, none of them do not recognize that in stalker more Ukrainian intichnosti and they say that it is not there and trying to appropriate the entire universe of stalker m even the creators of this mod, this plate with Ukrainian inscriptions the only thing there is of Ukrainian intichnosti, I didn't want to play this mod because I'm trying to protect myself from all the Russian settlement on February 24, but I saw that there is a Ukrainian localization is the first Ukrainian localization from the Russian in Stalker and we have been waiting for 17 years and this localization is just horrible such a feeling that they made it in a day and did not correct errors, I played this mod 3 hours and deleted anyway I wanted to look at the ukr localization. Well, it's pretty easy to tell when russians are lying. You just look at whether their lips are moving or not.

Just looks like a cheap knock off - may pass as the true article at a glance but even with a touch more attention we can see it's far from a decent retelling. If anything, it's a dumbed down version catering to those who don't want to invest time and explore the depths that The Zone has to offer.

I think they just wanted to make a generic russian COD experience, there are way better ways to play the TRUE S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I hate hud elements and mini maps. Back when I was playing online games like MW2 I always played hardcore. I don't want crosshairs I want shooting quickly from the "hip" to be a skill. ADS to be a decisive choice to forego speed for precision. I also want my feedback to be realistic visual and audible. Instead of hit markers whats better is a blood spurt and the thud of 1000-3000fps projectile smacking flesh. I want my damage and stamina feedback to be grunts of pain, bloodsplatter on the screen and heavy breathing and foggyness around the edges.

I still think the best way for new players to get into the OG trilogy is COP with GUNSLINGER which also guves you the option to install Absolute Nature and that's all you need for a first playthrough. Someone has comverted GUNSLINGER SOC and if you search UA-cam you can actually find it but I think GUNSLINGER is the simplest way to modernize STALKER and retain what makes them my favorite franchise of all time.

I played the mod. Its incredibly polished for a mod but i ultimately uninstalled it because it dragged itself too much. Still a great mod for the first 10 hours, however i do not understand your argument about russia. Atomic heart was a great game and nobody cares its made by russians and russian developers should not be forced to hide their origins in fear of prejudice

Console is going to kill this game, so many great games were ruined because of console port, they downgrade, encrypt everything, you can't mod it you can't tweak the setting like you used to back in good old days. Consoles been dragging pc gaming for the last 10 years.

I don't get the point of this video. True Stalker, as marketed by the mod's description, says it's SUPPOSED to be what you describe in this video. It's not meant to be a simulator, like the stalker games, it's meant to be a standard experience within the Stalker universe. If you go into this thinking it's like every other stalker game you're gonna be disappointed not because it's a bad mod but because you fooled yourself into thinking it's the same bargain bin mashup of random shit into a playlist of mods. I've been putting hours into it and I also play StalkerZ, a DayZ RP server set in Stalker-- and I get fond memories from the things that happen in game because from my experience, yeah the shit in this game is stuff you'd experience there on that RP server. Where actual characters exist and things actually happen instead of it being a life simulator with no discernable story without considerable amount of hours put in to just piece things together only to realize the story itself is open ended and almost nonsensical until the very end where you have all the pieces together. This game is something magical, something different in a sea of the same story, the same mechanics or slightly different mechanics, the same lore and the same experience over and over. My only criticism I have on True Stalker is it's lack of storage space, and the lack of interaction between side characters and other NPC's in the world. That and the fact that it relies on knocking you out to tell a story most of the time. I personally didnt' like it, but looking past that the gameplay is solid and the story is just fun. It's enough to have a character that somewhat aligns with your interests so you could get immersed enough into the world if you pay attention to the story. You get unique interactions which you can't get in normal stalker games, you get to explore famous and interesting locations and even new locations with new enemies and all sorts of new shit while also being in a coherent and for lack of a better term spoon fed story that isn't half bad. Not saying the Stalker games are bad, they're honestly my favorite games of all time, but to compare this to Stalker is like comparing apples to oranges imo.

100% agree. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed..... well most of my time playing this game, a lot of the side quests where interesting and unique, the world design I'd say is some of the most detailed and lived in in a STALKER game and the maps are absolutely beautiful. The choice to use GUNSLINGER for it's core albeit neutered was a good one as I feel it's the best way to modernize the trilogy while staying close to the originals. But yeah no A-life or random blowouts, agregious use of cut scenes and extremely linear story held it back. Like you said it's well polished and I'd love to see what the devs can do if they made a an actual True Stalker. I do still think it is worth a try at least, and it's free so why not try it?

I dont care if a game studio that develops a good game is russian or palestinian or whatever, if they release a good game I will play it. Atomic Heart was great, I really enjoy it. People are to sensitive this days. I hope Stalker 2 is amazing. I will buy it cause I love Stalker and I love metro not cause they are from Ukraine, I dont give a F where they are from.

Most stalker story-driven mods are like this. And i don't even blame them for giving us so many cutscens. I don't blame when they do story-driven mods like this nor if someone like play them. I just blame peapol who never played "The fraction war" mod. The best mod ever for clear sky.

10 years ago i was the kind of PC gatekeeper that would have been fuming about this. But Ive grown up since then and was so happy that more players get to play now. I loved seeing people being legitimately (and illegitimately... considering the deal you can get in the dark valley 😈) giving tips to console players on the subreddit.

Have you made a video about Stalcraft yet? That's another Russian company trying to turn Stalker into theirs, only theirs is an MMO version of Stalker.

"true stalker" is very subjective, after all these years of modding and all everyone got there own version of a "true stalker" game. Mine would be Gamma modpack, others would say EFP or Misery, and others will say Dead air is true stalker.

It thought it looked really slick but after an hour of 2 or 3 I stopped playing because of the lack of A-Life :(
