- Making Anomaly Look like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a much simpler feat than in needs to be considering that there are some existing modpacks already out there that do 130% of the work for you, the trick lies in undoing the unnecessary work that they have done and sprinkling in the Stalker 2 finishing touch. In this instance, I used EFP 4 as my base, their weapons, sound, graphics, and some of their system overhauls are simply excellent.

Gotta change the currency too though. "RUbles" are told to be turned into Karbovantsy in Stalker 2. Rhe previous generation of UAH (Hryvna) which actually canonically fit into sovietpunk atmosphere by design
the reason for the use of rubles in the originals is due to a cut bit of lore where do to the weird chaotic nature of the zone people didn't use an actual currency so they just decided to use old soviet rubles as their own. weird and nonsensical but it is there. glad theyre changing it though
@@jeremieh5009 funny enough karbovanci was the name of soviet ruble in Ukrainian SSR, Ukraine was the only republic of the USSR not to call the currency "ruble" officially, even though everyone still called them that

@@jeremieh5009 if you Google an image of a soviet ruble, in the rear you can see the name of the currency in all the official languages of soviet republics. Good practice on paper but in reality we know how it really was

One thing that is cool about using the EFP modpack as a base is that you can also utilize the warfare mods it has (disabled by default), so you can do the campaign / story mode WITH warfare to make the playthrough even more dynamic since areas will change who controls them and raiding parties will go between zones to attack outposts.
Makes for the world to feel a bit more dynamic imo, as you can also completely wipe out factions if you wanted to. Don't like Sin? Help you faction campaign against them so they can no longer spawn in new NPCs.
I started with base anomaly and added like 70 mods on my own, editing ltx files and tweaking weapons and attachments, but it never really felt perfect or even just good. I had many things that just annoyed the crap out of me like some weapon models looking like clay or lego replicas and the fact that some weapons that use an acog sight has an overlay while others use a shitty 3D model. Some collimator sights also just have a stationary dot on the sight like it was painted on which is not immersive at all. I couldn't really figure out how to get past that but I did find a way, editing the weapons.ltx files for each weapon that uses the acog to force them all to use the overlay instead of the 3D model, which made things feel a bit better. I just tried to keep all the vanilla anomaly weapons in the game as a type of uniformity but they weren't all the same like they were pulled from different games where similar weapons platforms like the AK and AR weapons, although they had the same controls, had different animations of different quality levels which gave me a whole Call of Duty Warzone Cold war weapons merge PTSD all over again. After finding out about modpacks I first tried GAMMA as it looked better than EFP but after trying out both I must stick with EFP. GAMMA is an absolute mission to get installed and I had it break on my multiple times while trying to update it or trying to make some tweaks, plus the fact that you can't buy weapons from traders just really makes the game too much effort just to play it and have fun. I regularly found myself with dogshit gear where everyone else who has dogshit gear when you loot them just own their crappy loadout and have zero jams and eat bullets like it's nothing but I have to suffer for some reason. EFP feels similar to GAMMA in terms of the gunplay and graphics but just done with an actual fun time in mind. You still need to maintain your weapons all the same but it's not as difficult and you can actually get somewhere if you stick to the weapons and armor you want. It also doesn't have as much graphically intensive stuff on it so it runs quite a bit better. Using EFP I was able to tweak it just a little by adding SWM visible body, HD Models, PAW personal adjustable waypoint, THAP, Misery based terrain textures and Lowered weapon sprint to the modlist and now it feels like the STALKER anomaly I was trying to make from scratch. Really love EFP, gotta give them credit for the modpack. It's really well made.

Have to tried to talk with the EFP devs to make this an official fork of EFP? Taking the polish of EFP and simplifiying it with the Less Bloat mod would the dream pack for me.
Maybe I could persuade them to provide it themselves, however, I do not think that it would be right for me to make this available as-is and incentivizing a bypass of the official EFP pack.
I am always surprised by how well you understand the Ukrainian mentality and history. Yes, russian appropriation took place in my country for hundreds of years. And despite this, the national consciousness of Ukrainians has not disappeared, and we are ready to fight for our independence.

Hey! I posted here a while ago but just went on to play the game with, more or less, the mod setup for EFP that you recommended here. Just wanna say its now my default way of playing Anomaly. There's enough challenge and realism to keep you immersed but its not so tedious and, as you rightfully describe it, bloated as the likes of default EFP or GAMMA. I wasn't keen on there essentially being a "Press B to make your character Blink" button for every little thing in the game. So thanks very much.
Since you know abound modding i download a animation mod from mod-db the mod works fine but i got this annoying issue whenever i try to skin a mutant when the animation started the camera started to spin vertically like crazy is there a way to fix that? plus no othe mods were installed just that.
Love the channel and plan to enjoy this mod pack. I tried radiophobia based on your recommendation but it seems to bug out and crash too frequently unfortunately

If one wanted to fix the wrong medicine icons you mentioned towards the end of the vid, how would one theoretically go about doing that?
Find "[Maid] Vanilla HD Icons" in MO2 and open in explorer; navigate to /gamedata/configs and open "mod_system_maidmeds.ltx"; change every instance of "ui\ui_maid_meds_eftmo" to "ui\ui_maid_meds".
Hey also one more thing is a simple bleed icon mod. Basically you can turn off that annoying red flash on your screen, and see a blood icon at the bottom of the screen, very much like the STALKER 2 trailer. Unfortunately I'm still looking for a compass mod that looks like the one in the trailer, where it's at the top of the screen. For now I'll stick to the minimap.
Is it possible to get snorks in Anomaly to behave the way those super long-jumping "man-eating" snorks did in the core games? The ones that lunge high and far instead of just far. Would be great if there was a super chimera that could do that too.

I did clear shader cache, this was just another attempt at launching with me referring to the chocolate. My first attempt didn't have it because I had spent like 30 minutes removing bloat and forgot to do so 😅
4:57-5:18 the music that is playing in the background, where is that from? I was playing the expedition mod pack which had the music in the menu but it was too buggy, so i just played base anomaly with mods that i personally added.
It's from the Stalker 2 ost. Don't remember which one, but it's in the GSC UA-cam channel

I haven't played anomaly for a while now I gave up on EFP & GAMMA because they are soup mods & always end up having crashes sooner or later caused by all these untidy files piled up on each other. The re shade in these mods also has issues with afterburner the same goes for expedition.
I think I'll send your list to a friend of mine who just recently got into Stalker. He has just finished Call of Pripyat and he's interested in trying out all of the modpacks/redesigns. I've been reluctant to recommend EFP in its entirety. Like, he might come to enjoy it but it would be a lot to throw at him. GAMMA is out of the question rn lol. Your list strikes a good balance, though - an effective primer for the real Stalker gameplay: repair and crafting menus.

I made it like the OG games. Low tier enemies drop medical every 1/3, mid tier every 2/3, high tier every time, and so on with other items. The zone was always more like the wild west than the apocalypse; no reason for anything to be scarce.

hmm, si no te permite recargar puede ser un problema con keywrapper, siempre tuve ese problema. Si no, puede ser un conflicto con los mandos en MCM. Unjam puede ser la causa o cualquier otro. Cuando tenía el Keywrapper instalado me causaba problemas de este tipo a menudo en EFP 4.

cool litle video, i honestly came in to see how you made the best graphical mods work with your custom mod pack and to my surprise HD models was not in your top 3.make it happen and when you get it working (after ading the latest patch as well so it doesnt crash in Red forest and rostok), tell us if it keeps crashing randomly. if all works fine evry1 will jump into that since Gamma never got to fixing their crashing from various mods, yesterday i crashed 4 times in brain scrocher, and 3 times in red forest while continuing to jupiter to take back yanov for team CLEAN. since the update gamma has been a nightmare for me.
I actually don't go out of my way for HD models anymore. Aside from still lacking specularity, many of the HD models adaptations I find a bit off-tune stylistically speaking. I don't really mind them if they're already in a mod like Radiophobia 3 or Xpress Tuning's remaster, but I don't go out of my way to get them working. Also, I don't really play Anomaly, I have a lot more fun with the OGs and their many many remakes.

Anomaly tiene muchas mecánicas artificiales de relleno. Para mí son innecesarias y una gran parte de este video es resaltar que deben ser eliminadas. Los juegos originales no tienen nada de este relleno, son mucho mejores para simplemente jugar, explorar, combatir y hacer lo que se hace en la zona, no te enseñarán a jugar anomaly, pero anomaly sí te enseñará a jugar a los originales en parte.

Something like that. During the Anomaly modpack boom I did end up liking EFP more than GAMMA, but not by a whole lot. I tend to enjoy modding the OG games a bit more because those tend to run better and also feel much more alive.

My game/Hud looks almost like yours.
Instead of the compass I use Bart's Minimap tho.
Ayden's Grass Tweaks summer version bc it adds the Stalker 2 red poppy/flowers grass in places. (+ vanilla grass looks like doodoo imo)
And for the Stalker 2 hud mod, I downloaded Alternative Icons which is used in the Stalker 2 hud mod and copy pasta'd over the colored variation of it to give it just a tiny bit more modernization an color ofc :)
And Cr3ps Icons.
And Gamma Style Modern Ui with no grids and vanilla stats bars.
