Ap-pro moderation called Stalker 2 as a "source of rusophobia", because GSC Game World has stopped selling Stalker games on the territory of russia, so I don't think that they harbour "legitimate respect"
So russia invades Ukraine, they kill, they rape, they steal and ukrainians should be like "Everything is alright?" and they should just keep selling production there like nothing is happening? You joking? Slava Ukraine.

Great intro not gonna lie, you really summed up me and many people's frustrations with True Stalker here. With the professional quality of the graphics/UI/menu/map rework etc, it's a real shame that the actual game doesn't live up to expectations.

You talk alot about ALIFE but the only stalker game that truly had ALIFE was Call of Pripyat. And even then you couldnt really feel the weight of that either. COP's world was too small to have true alife. The only way to experience true ALIFE is Anomaly ironically. The world is completely random, no two play throughs are exactly the same. SoC had Alife? Nah not really. Stalkers stick to their camps, u dont see them leave and wonder the zone often. 95% of its interactions were still scripted. The world still felt very empty outside of its camps and bases. Especially after completing the main quests in that area. I remember doing a 1million ruble Play through, which required alot of going back and fourth throughout the zone. And it it empty af. It was deadass just a running simulator. The only random encounter ive ever experienced in SoC was NPCs randomly respawning in their bases. Like the bandit camp in cordon. Or the Agroprom/garbage transition area. or bandits and Mercs respawning in wild territory. But still, they dont do anything, they just sit in their camps. and even that isnt alife too, every play through, I know Mercs duty and bandits spawn in wild territory after helping the ecologist. And i know skull's group kill themselves in anomalies and loners take their place in the army warehouses. Clear sky Alife was overshadowed by the faction wars..The whole game's world was focused on the Faction wars. and the fact you could see NPCs and mutants on your pda destroyed all "randomness". NPCs dont move AT ALL after the faction wars is done. Complete the clear sky wne renegade faction wars and see how dead the swamps is after. Just renegades respawning in their Northern base, and mutants respawning. Clear sky dont move at all after. Even the Vanilla game which is supposed to be "True Stalker" isnt "True" Stalker. Alot of the "ALife" is just in theory and non existent in game. The Alife was truly supposed to be real in production, but alot of it was cut for whatever reasons. Hopefully Stalker 2 has true ALife.
@@rogue_4tw763 3 mods that have A-life more advanced than anomaly in every way. Anomaly's a-life isnt anything special. Most of the run of the mill mods have something similar.
Where did this collective hallucination (including from GSC on their latest Stalker 2 dev log stream thing) that "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is freedom" come from? All games are massively "on rails"; there's no decision or player agency. A "choice" at the wishgranter that just impacts your ending cutscenes in SoC is not "freedom". The fact that you can do quests are your own leisure (but you still need to check the boxes of the main quests) in CoP is not "freedom". Stalker games have always been a curated experience by the developer. There's no wiggle room for player expression or deviation in any of the 3 games.
Most people's first exposure to Stalker games nowadays are Anomaly and Gamma. They probably watched some reviews of the original games, but never bothered to play them when they have a more polished alternative. Thanks to Gamma and the DayZ modded "roleplay" servers, people appropriate the franchise's style more with Escape from Tarkov with paranormal aspects sprinkled in. Instead of a curated experience with story beats that tackles the paranormal and the groups of the Zone, people expect an open-world merc sandbox survival tactical milsim fighting 20 year old AI.
Its the fact that stalker has an open world, and the linear campaign more or less goes at the speed you choose. It would be absurd to say that stalker's "curated experience" is even remotely comparable to something like metro's or half life's linear campaign. Stalker at least FEELS free. Also like 50% of the things that people consider to be integral to stalker are things that were promised during development, that have now all been implemented in one way or another in alot of mods. "Freedom" was definetly a selling point during stalker's development
I think it's because it simulated the feeling of freedom very well. The pace of the game was decided by the player instead of the devs, as is usually the case (except towards the end I guess). It's also very less hand holdy compared to modern games, which is more of a case of being a product of it's time. Lastly, fanmade games and mods. Specifically referring to Call of Chernobyl and all it's derivatives. Most new Stalker fans are introduced to the series through these (Anomaly and GAMMA primarily) and these give you actual freedom. They have a story mode and questlines sure, but their primary focus is basically "go wherever you want, do whatever you want". So, while the sentiment of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R is Freedom" as been a thing for a long time, Freeplay mods have taken it to such heights that STALKER and freedom are pretty much synonymous nowadays
This is true that the mod doesn't have the same freedom as Stalker game but i think he still a good mod and a good experience and change from ordinary Misery like. Also i wonder with Stalker 2 that only show cinematic trailer right now and not gameplay at all if be in a abundance of scripted or cinematic gonna be problematic with next Stalker game.
There's some limited videos from people who played the demo, it doesn't sound like it's chalk-full of cinematic moments. But there certainly are a lot in the trailer. I suspect they'll replace the otherwise stale 'stand at the counter and talk to an npc that looks like a gross cross between a fallout 1 npc and a mannequin' style of conversation had in the original trilogy.
Agreed STALKER was fun traversing the same areas over and over because you never knew exactly what would happen. You could get caught in a blowout or abushed by mutants or an enemy faction.
100% agree. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed..... well most of my time playing this game, a lot of the side quests where interesting and unique, the world design I'd say is some of the most detailed and lived in in a STALKER game and the maps are absolutely beautiful. The choice to use GUNSLINGER for it's core albeit neutered was a good one as I feel it's the best way to modernize the trilogy while staying close to the originals. But yeah no A-life or random blowouts, agregious use of cut scenes and extremely linear story held it back. Like you said it's well polished and I'd love to see what the devs can do if they made a an actual True Stalker. I do still think it is worth a try at least, and it's free so why not try it?
I actually liked it felt like a sequel to the trilogy. A bit different for sure but its a story driven game not a simulator like the fan favourite mods.
when I saw the village of newbies, I immediately understood that this mod is just a piece of crap that was squeezed out of itself by so-called fans. it does not look like a parking lot of stalkers, harsh men, but it looks like what teenagers have done when they are playing on the street
@@СмішнийКіпішний Okay, that is your opinion. Personally i hope the war ends soon. Too much european blood has been spilled for no fucking reason. I blame cosmopolitan ideologies for this shit.
the founder of ap pro stated that the mod title didnt imply that it was the true stalker experience, he was "inspired" by the name of the tv series true detective. the mod was okay tho. the story was questionable and so was the lack of a-life and fast travel, other than that it was still entertaining enough for me not to abandon it which is something i do alot when it comes to games

Still a great mod for the first 10 hours, however i do not understand your argument about russia. man, when the game was building up to Mongol double-crossing Axe and me being given no choice but to be tricked I was done with it. Hell, if you try to shoot Mongol he remains unresponsive and rounds just go right through him.
@@cantgameright Oh I dont disagree, the game crutches hard on this trope of getting betrayed over and over again and getting knocked out to move the plot along. Worst aspect of it imo
Your channel is literally the only one I always watch with great interest. Yeah, I might watch some other videos, but when I see a new video from you, I know that I have to watch it RIGHT NOW. You always bring something interesting to the table of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. youtube, or youtube in general. Thank you very much
For a game that's story-driven to the point it wants to practically put the player on rails (in a very un-STALKER fashion), the story is very poorly paced. It can slog on and on for hours at a time (the combination of terrible stamina/movement speed and abysmal quest design having you run to and fro between locations constantly), has numerous unskippable cutscenes that exacerbate the the sluggish travel; but then when it needs to move the player to a different location, it renders them unconscious at least half a dozen times. I'm not kidding. Axe (iirc the protag's name correctly) is always getting brain-damaged in numerous ways just to drive the plot forward and/or take him to a new area. I played on despite my frustrations (I typically want to finish stories even if I don't particularly like them), but was stopped in probably the final act by a game breaking bug that soft-locked quest progression (it literally was a case of an NPC not being able to get close enough to me to begin dialogue). I gave some half-hearted attempts to fix it, but gave up. The game had already wasted so much of my time already, and at that point I was done. All in all a very shallow "STALKER" experience that fooled a lot of people with glamor and gloss (including me up to a point). Hell it even made Gunslinger worse by removing PIP scopes and having shitty ballistics. Not to mention the narrative/dialogue itself was extremely corny, melodramatic and had some extremely sophomoric philosophy (the one quest about rival scientists in particular read like a teenager trying to be really deep). Then it jumped the shark by having a zombie speak intelligently lmao.
Tbh I liked true Stalker, even the scripted story because it was something new at all. Also the mechanics and the narrative is captivating, the only problem I had was that a mission was bugged and I had to deinstall it..😅
The first 2:30 mins of video could be cut off since neither you (supposedly) nor I care about the devs being Russian. Yeah you could keep the point the devs are Russian but acknowledge the Ukrainian part of the stalker and just move on. No need to ramble about other studios. I say this because the start of the video made me think you will hate the game because the devs are Russian (which I do think is the case for you not liking the mod).
@@Yes4HumanRace Mainly because stalker is an Ukrainian Franchise and some of the current stalker devs died during the invasion of Ukrain. It does leave a bad taste in everybody mouth.

Honestly, it's a nice tactic to blame the blogger to be bias. Really. @@TsDm3714 that's correct. I've been very critical of russia's strange "politics" with frequency and I wanted to make clear that my criticism of True Stalker is not about the devs being russian. That part of the video is just context and precedent.

Searched it on youtube, "True Stalker isn't" then below it "This mod is fantastic True Stalker review - Broken Circle" Take my sub for peak unintentional comedy lmao
This is not a "True Review". For a game that is free to download, this review was so spiteful. I just finished the game, while you didn't. Also, in the comments, people who uninstalled the game and didn't finish it. (a circlejerk).
i ran into a problem where it persistently crashed 4-5 min into a new game so i uninstalled it before even noticing any of this, but i cant see how it could feel like stalker without a-life, i just assumed it had some sort of similar system.
To be fair , I think it’s incredibly polished, but definitely good for barely one playthrough, but can’t replay it pretty much, it’s just like a mediocre movie adaptation
it's basically gunslinger with very linear and heavily scripted story, it could be better if the story is actually good and choices you make throughout the game determent the fate of the protagonist
I''m an American, completely free in concept, this game is good. It is a story driven campaign of stalker through and through. I played through it after years and years of stalker and i was astonished. It is a GREAT story. This soy boy shouldn't deceit any stalker player from playing this game. It is a through and through stalker experience that is better than those other mods. period.
What happens if you try to shoot Mongol when he tries to trick you? Can you even avoid getting fooled? It's so obvious he was going to try to trick Axe and I had no choice but to be tricked. I'm not comparing TS to "those other mods," I'm comparing it to the OG games. Period.
i’m ngl i remember in cop i was locked out of a whole mission because i killed a character that the mission was for so i definitely understand what he means if your locked to a certain linear story
Most stalker story-driven mods are like this. And i don't even blame them for giving us so many cutscens. I don't blame when they do story-driven mods like this nor if someone like play them. I just blame peapol who never played "The fraction war" mod. The best mod ever for clear sky.
I think they left the ukrainian identity because the series is already more than 10 years old, and it wouldn‘t make sense to russify a game that‘s been ukrainian for so long. It‘s like you change the story of a legendary game
Why are you negatively presenting the developers' nationality? That's really racist to be honest, cause you ain't saying that they in some way try to justify or speak in favor of the Russian invasion, you just highlight the fact that they're Russian.
Attempted russian appropriation of Stalker into russki myr is the reason GSC game world has suffered countless cyberattacks. Highlighting that the authors of this mod that claims to be the "True" STALKER may be a part of that movement is important. Aside from stating facts about deceptive tactics being part and parcel of the muscovite games industry (and why) nothing I've stated is untrue. Even the patriotic tank kolyaskas . The accusation of racism is very serious, btw. If condemning suspect behavior from a consistent origin is "racist" you would need evidence that I show that same attitude towards people from that origin who don't partake in said behavior, and that is something I do not do. I made it absolutely clear that I don't know where AP Pro stands (and that it's not worth my time to find out) and that the criticism about TS are purely based in what it calls itself and its merits as a STALKER experience. Despite that, judging from the Ukrainian commenters here, AP Pro isn't on good terms with GSC or Ukrainian players and that says something.
I strongly disagree with you. Who are you to define what is a Stalker Game and what Isn't. Is your point that True Stalker isn't a "Stalker game " because you are forced to go through certain events at a time? True Stalker is a story driven experience just like the OG games made by GSC, so are you suggesting that their games aren't the real deal?
Bro, I strongly disagree with *you!* when Vano owed the bandits money and you offered to help you could either take the initiative and fight the bandits, or try to negotiate but get scammed by the bandits, or refuse to get tricked and be forced to fight your way out, hell if you had worked for Sultan earlier in the game, you might even get additional options. Speaking of Sultan, when he asks you to ambush a group of Stalkers with his bandit crew you can proceed any way you feel like and there's a valid outcome waiting for you. Betray the bandits, join them, rat them out, whatever you can think of has a valid outcome. Then when you recover Morgan's PDA, you can sell it for cash or use it to help Duty or Freedom. When you find Strelok's stashes, you can sell the notes for cash but if you hold on to the notes you can actually give them to Strelok when you meet him in Prypiat. Bro, you can even miss the chopper at the ending and have them leave without you and simply not end the game. Everyone goes home except you and there's no game over, you can stay in the zone exploring after the game is over. I could go on and on and on and give examples of this, but I'm sure you get the point by now. Whenever you try to have a modicum of initiative in TS the game simply has nothing for you. It's a checklist game. What happens if you try to get one step ahead of Mongol at the bandit base and stop him from scamming you? Nothing. If you try to shoot him your rounds just go through him and he doesn't even react, leaving you no choice but to dialogue with him until he scams you. All of TS is like this. So who am I to say what STALKER is? Just some nerd who has played the games over and over again, finding something new and special every single time. After hundreds of hours in the original Trilogy I'm sure that there's still some mysteries I have not uncovered. Hope that makes it clear. The problem with TS is mainly in what it calls itself.
@cantgameright I am just as passionate as you when it comes to Stalker. When I think of the game, I think of the zone... the people you meet and stories / adventure you partake. None of the less, I don't shit on your vision of the game. Perhaps your idea is different from mine, yours being that Stalker is about the choices you make. If you would had played the rest of the game, you would have known that it has multiple endings that you can achieve based on your actions. While I don't think True Stalker is the ultimate experience, I believe it told a beautiful story.
This happens quite often in the gaming industry, where the game is good, just it feels like a different franchise. Hitman: Absolution for example, the game is great but it strays too far from original formula, that it barely feels like a Hitman game at all.
reinstalling openal doesn't workThat's been said for years, even after installing it with the normal, fresh stalker games. I even have the regular cop, and it won't work with certain mods; it will give that sound error, like remake the highest former hd mod doesnt work on win 10 for me with cop/yet realism mod works
I'm a new stalker fan and this is what i've been seeing a lot to be honest. People proclaiming that the way they play and this modpack and that modpack is the true way to play stalker. I'm not saying there wrong because again i'm fairly new to stalker but looking at the footage of stalker 2 and seeing the original unmodded games I have my doubts... That all being said I really enjoyed you're video and take on the game! Very smart and well spoken!
Good Opinion. Honestly i too Stop Playing True stalker And deleted it. But my reason is was too Repetetive. Especaly Like Mehanic in Cordon and evry time run to hin to made small Upgrades its too Long. Plus Running not so fast for my taste
i didnt even know there is no a-life in this. i still liked it though and iff im honest ive never really noticed the presence of a-life in og or the mods so not an issue for me.
Me too, but when I played the version of Stalker on playstation, surprisingly I found the very a-life about which everyone talks about, for example, in the ps version of the bandit squad arranged a shootout with a military checkpoint on Kordon and I did not have to pay a bribe of 500rub for crossing the bridge. And also once carelessly hit the military near the camp of newcomers, I caused the anger of the military and they went to storm the camp and killed Wolf (questmaster). In the original game I really never encountered such a thing, but I think the developers intentionally cut a-life to not let important characters die
I think the True Stalker game is a nice thing that happened, because it gave us something new rather than just making game look good visually/adding game to be more realistic (anomaly, gamma, misery, radiophobia 3,..). I am a stalker game series fan so of course I enjoy everything thats related to it. Yes, lacking a-life in a stalker game is bit of an issue, but still we got some cool, new story to be explored from different perspective (stalker player Axe, then military guy), new characters and also the most thing I liked was new locations they added. I agree that this game shouldnt be called ,,True Stalker,, .. but its their choice, their vision. Political aspects I ignore, since it isnt ruining my gaming experience just like western games where they are adding forcefully lgbt agenda and stuff like that...
thanks for the video, but honestly, I'm afraid for Stalker 2 when it comes out, it will definitely be given zero ratings in Steam because of the neighbors
I think the gaming community is smart and passionate enough to see through politically motivated review bombing. It's happened before and all it tends to do is boost sales.
You can't write reviews on steam unless you own the game. Most ruskies don't have a Turkish account on steam, so there won't be as many review bombings.
It's good, played all the way through, might again in a while, busted a gut laughing at the sheer number of times my guy got stealth takedowned. If you hurry through some parts, it's like, again?
Literally made the best mod without unnecessary boredom, overabundance of meaningless realism to sit down and a couple of evenings to relax and enjoy a good story, with the best technical component among the mods stalker. The author says that everything is wrong, because the mod is not like his favorite Anomaly Gamma, which is essentially a single-player tarkov for fans of pointless useless hardcore. Both have a right to life, and both are done perfectly. You should temper your political preoccupation, there is not a word about Ukraine or the Russian federation in the game. It causes nothing but facepalm.
@@seanronaldporter 1. This channel was built on critiques against Anomaly and Gamma 2. I have never played Tarkov 3. I didn't say True Stalker is bad, I said that it isn't STALKER. However, True Stalker's narrative design gets in the way of the good things True Stalker's game design does, so I don't think it's very good as a complete package either. 4. If you're calling a war "politics," you're just a comfortable spectator. Whether you like it or not, STALKER is caught in the middle of the information war that russia is waging against Ukraine. 5. About a fourth of my audience is Ukrainian, if I'm going to bring up a russian mod, I best contextualize it thoroughly as to not validate the enemy's roles in the information war. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, Slava Ukraini.
Various other mods that aren't anomaly have been much better than this. Story wise it's very mediocre, relying on knocking out the player too many times to advance the plot, and the character swap was just ridiculous.
I've checked a couple of your vids, looked through comments under all of those I've watched and honestly, listen: you don't have as many subscribers as you deserve to have - and most likely you won't. You don't have as much views & likes as you should have - and most likely you won't. You have an overwhelming amount of people (sometimes mods' fanboys, sometimes - straight up bots) attacking your vids for something they are not - and most likely you'll have that amount accumulating harder than both likes and subscriptions. Why? Because you're doing God's work in here. Soldier on, mate, and for what it's worth - here's my sub, can't wait for some more STALKER content 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Nice to see how this channel that i subscribed to for stalker content is just becoming a platform for politicizing some fking mods that people who love the series make rather than reviewing the work people put into them without focusing on nationalities or who did what. Some other youtubers really were right when they said that stalker fandoms are one of the most toxic fandoms out there. Unless the developers of this mod specifically said this is what the true stalker experience is/should be, i and probably every other normal person looking for stalker mods, chose to take this title as more of a "here's a more old fashioned stalker experience in contrast to the mountain of mil sim wanna be stalker mods" nothing more nothing less. Can you just stop focusing on the political aspect of these games/mods? I swear every other youtuber nowadays thinks taking a moral highground in their reviews is somehow going to exalt them above us peasants who just play games for fun. You ain't opening people's eyes dude. Just review the damn mods.
The whole case made in this video is that this game is not "a more old fashioned stalker experience in contrast to the mountain of mil sim wanna be stalker mods," and rather that it lacks many of the core tenants of STALKER. I mean it, I was going through the motions until the game gave me no choice but to be fooled by Mongol, it was so obvious that he was out to scam Axe and I couldn't do anything about it. Tried shooting him, nothing; my rounds just flew through him without a reaction. The game is a facade. The context at the start, what you call "politics," is important in the space in which GSC Game World has suffered countless cyberattacks and threats as well as many communities from russia having engaged in online bullying (against my own channel even) while claiming that stalker is a part of russki myr and whatnot. When a game from russia calls itself the "true" stalker, I have to contextualize it. You'll find that apart from the context presented in the introduction, no "politics" are used to make any of my cases. Go on, try forging your own destiny in TS, you can't.
@@cantgameright Yeah, i get where you're coming from but the mod is still a mod made from assets that belong to GSC (well, mostly). The game hasn't tried making a case that IT was True Stalker (as opposed to the original trilogy) but just another vision of some developers that thought they were making an enjoyable mod. At best the mod just scratches an itch many of us had for a more grounded stalker mod without all the tacticool gear and at worst it's a fan fiction set in the stalker universe akin to fallout the frontier. There's plenty of stalker mods that bring their own storylines into this universe or change the original direction of the game. This one just happens to have a title that doesn't match the expectations it sets out for you. You just chose to address it cause you looked up into the nationality of the devs and felt the need to remind everyone that STALKER = UA not RU. Which for any person not interesed in this conflict in the slightest is the equivalent of seeing the random "friendly reminder" that "Children in Gaza are being...." comment on social media.
I always laugh loud when I see some random fans create their wet dream something and call it "True smth". In this case True russians did True pathetic copy of Stalker😂
Well this wolfstaker or ap pro he is trying to sit on two chairs, none of them do not recognize that in stalker more Ukrainian intichnosti and they say that it is not there and trying to appropriate the entire universe of stalker m even the creators of this mod, this plate with Ukrainian inscriptions the only thing there is of Ukrainian intichnosti, I didn't want to play this mod because I'm trying to protect myself from all the Russian settlement on February 24, but I saw that there is a Ukrainian localization is the first Ukrainian localization from the Russian in Stalker and we have been waiting for 17 years and this localization is just horrible such a feeling that they made it in a day and did not correct errors, I played this mod 3 hours and deleted anyway I wanted to look at the ukr localization. I'll tell you this, if they for the first time in 17 years for the first time added a sign with Ukrainian inscriptions and crooked localization, it would be better if they never did it, because it looks like a handout from them. And thank you for the video, when I was playing these 3 hours, this mod seemed like something beautiful to me, but in fact it is empty.
You don't care where the russians stand so much that you spent one third of the video talking about it instead of the mod "I don't know if they put ukrainian signs to hide their true beliefs or not" even when you get what you want you can't stop complaining, because its not enough for you that you are not inside the devs heads.
@@cantgameright precedent on what ? you talk about other russians devs that have nothing to do with this mod, being aprehensive of someones beliefs because they belong to a particular ethinc group is basically racism. You promote prejudices while claiming to fight them. I may be blind, but it is you who cannot see.
@@Cool_Man_Dude_Best First, it's not racism. West Slavs and East Slavs all originate from the Dnipro region. The region around St. Petersburg and Moscow does have a higher admixture with Balts/Baltic Finnic peoples which makes North Slavs part of the northern European culture. Nobody gives Russians grief for being too much like the Balts or the Finns. The racism accusation makes no sense on a logical standpoint considering that 1) Ukrainians belong to the same greater ethnic group and 2) a genuine racist would consider Russians superior. People give Russians grief because of culture. There's ethnic Russians in Ukraine and ethnic Ukrainians in Russian. For example if you follow MMA you'll know the names Fedor Emelianenko and Valentina Shevchenko. From their last names you can tell they are ethnic Ukrainians, but they both are culturally Russian and consider themselves Russian. Third, it's freaking amazing seeing all the gigachad profile pics becoming crybabies about racism. I thought you guys were the CEOs of racism.
I dont care if a game studio that develops a good game is russian or palestinian or whatever, if they release a good game I will play it. Atomic Heart was great, I really enjoy it. Just looks like a cheap knock off - may pass as the true article at a glance but even with a touch more attention we can see it's far from a decent retelling. If anything, it's a dumbed down version catering to those who don't want to invest time and explore the depths that The Zone has to offer.
Lol, this russian way of appropriation is so funny, like, "we just call it the TRUE stalker, so everyone will know that only this modification will provide a TRUE experience of stalker and nothing else", but they failed in making a great product, as always.
But how does the gunplay feels, the atmosphere, the dialogues? ok, it's not a "true stalker" experience but is it any good in other things? it's clear as cristal that this was made from the place of hate towards russians and people who want to write their own stories about the stalker universe and that's pretty lame. Being a traditionalist will never be a good thing because you're blinded by your stupid and close minded believes.
derp. I'm not a traditionalist. Radiophobia 3 is one of my favorite mods and it's as far from traditional as it can get. But to answer your questions, Gunplay is the result of STRIFER's project, Gunslinger, not AP-Pro's work. The gameplay is very restricted. The atmosphere feels scripted. the voice acting is sometimes good but also sometimes incredibly corny. True Stalker isn't bad, it's just average. But since it's not a True STALKER experience it should just call itself something else. Not only that, but russian cultural appropriation of Ukrainian creations is a real phenomenon, so when the lead of the largest russian STALKER forum, who isn't on good terms with GSC, creates a mod that calls itself True STALKER, that must be addressed and considered a part of the information war.
@@falcon6329 lol. What cancelling? Did I cancel Glukhovsky? He was born in the same place as Wolf and I've praised him. You need to try some Slav zone mods. Also I don’t agree with your opinion on this mod. Yes it’s different from your typical mods that most are posting these days but it’s a change from anomaly, gamma, efp, blah blah. It’s something new and fresh looking, so I don’t think you should shit on it for being different it’s still a good mod to play though and it’s still stalker. I’m guessing you haven’t given and of the story mods a try either?
For me one of the best mods in years. There is so.much effort and thinking what has been put into it. Never in all these years I saw a so detailed zone. Alife might be not that present as we know it. But I'm also sick and tired of all these way to complex pumped up mods like anomaly.
@@cantgameright true. But if you look and most mods they are totally blown up with unnecessary stuff, difficult as hell and mostly more work than fun to play. And they also just put together some stuff and hey: new mod. Therefore true stalker was really thoughtful, good designed and at least for me fun to play. I just can stop until I see the end.
Have you made a video about Stalcraft yet? That's another Russian company trying to turn Stalker into theirs, only theirs is an MMO version of Stalker.
"true stalker" is very subjective, after all these years of modding and all everyone got there own version of a "true stalker" game. Mine would be Gamma modpack, others would say EFP or Misery, and others will say Dead air is true stalker.
I don't get the point of this video. True Stalker, as marketed by the mod's description, says it's SUPPOSED to be what you describe in this video. It's not meant to be a simulator, like the stalker games, it's meant to be a standard experience within the Stalker universe. If you go into this thinking it's like every other stalker game you're gonna be disappointed not because it's a bad mod but because you fooled yourself into thinking it's the same bargain bin mashup of random shit into a playlist of mods. I've been putting hours into it and I also play StalkerZ, a DayZ RP server set in Stalker-- and I get fond memories from the things that happen in game because from my experience, yeah the shit in this game is stuff you'd experience there on that RP server. Where actual characters exist and things actually happen instead of it being a life simulator with no discernable story without considerable amount of hours put in to just piece things together only to realize the story itself is open ended and almost nonsensical until the very end where you have all the pieces together. This game is something magical, something different in a sea of the same story, the same mechanics or slightly different mechanics, the same lore and the same experience over and over. My only criticism I have on True Stalker is it's lack of storage space, and the lack of interaction between side characters and other NPC's in the world. That and the fact that it relies on knocking you out to tell a story most of the time. I personally didnt' like it, but looking past that the gameplay is solid and the story is just fun. It's enough to have a character that somewhat aligns with your interests so you could get immersed enough into the world if you pay attention to the story. You get unique interactions which you can't get in normal stalker games, you get to explore famous and interesting locations and even new locations with new enemies and all sorts of new shit while also being in a coherent and for lack of a better term spoon fed story that isn't half bad. Not saying the Stalker games are bad, they're honestly my favorite games of all time, but to compare this to Stalker is like comparing apples to oranges imo.
unless you're comparing apples to oranges and the oranges call themselves "true apple" TS's merits were clearly highlighted in this video, but the point was to also highlight that it is not what it calls itself.
Deception? maybe its just 5 young people that didnt choose where they were born like all of us, and just wanted to make a fun game for others to enjoy without it being politicized to the point of hatred.

I got it from you daddy
You forgot an i
Where did this collective hallucination (including from GSC on their latest Stalker 2 dev log stream thing) that "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is freedom" come from?
The Stalker 2 community managers had stated a long gameplay showcase will be coming in the near future on Reddit.
I had a good time up to a point, but it became soooo linear, so CoD-like that I couldn't bring myself to complete it...
Agreed STALKER was fun traversing the same areas over and over because you never knew exactly what would happen. You could get caught in a blowout or abushed by mutants or an enemy faction.
the fact that i grinded axe for 25 hours just to him die out of scene, that is the worst of the mod.
I do still think it is worth a try at least, and it's free so why not try it?
this mod doesn't even come close to the original games, it's not a mod, it's some kind of garbage
I actually liked it felt like a sequel to the trilogy. A bit different for sure but its a story driven game not a simulator like the fan favourite mods.

Attempted russian appropriation of Stalker into russki myr is the reason GSC game world has suffered countless cyberattacks.
Bro, I strongly disagree with *you!*
when Vano owed the bandits money and you offered to help you could either take the initiative and fight the bandits, or try to negotiate but get scammed by the bandits, or refuse to get tricked and be forced to fight your way out, hell if you had worked for Sultan earlier in the game, you might even get additional options.

When I think of the game, I think of the zone... the people you meet and stories / adventure you partake.

@@seanronaldporter
1. This channel was built on critiques against Anomaly and Gamma
2. I have never played Tarkov
Its just a video game mod, who gives a f where the developers are from and which poliutical ideas they support?
Good job bro, love from Ukraine
It's called precedent.
cope
I thought you guys were the CEOs of racism.
makes sense to focus on relations since it's a Ukrainian game interpreted by a moskal studio
I dont care if a game studio that develops a good game is russian or palestinian or whatever, if they release a good game I will play it. Atomic Heart was great, I really enjoy it. People are to sensitive this days. I hope Stalker 2 is amazing. I will buy it cause I love Stalker and I love metro not cause they are from Ukraine, I dont give a F where they are from.
Sensitive is when you dont wanna support colonizers
You are a degenerate who put a blind eye to the gеnосіde.
Just looks like a cheap knock off - may pass as the true article at a glance but even with a touch more attention we can see it's far from a decent retelling. If anything, it's a dumbed down version catering to those who don't want to invest time and explore the depths that The Zone has to offer.
True Stalker is the mod that only had buzz around it for like a week until everyone went back to good versions of Stalker
This channel is so fucken underrated! ❤
I transheart biased content that has nothing to do with the subject.
Yea this video is dog shit, guy probably didnt even play the original games lmfao
Lol, this russian way of appropriation is so funny, like, "we just call it the TRUE stalker, so everyone will know that only this modification will provide a TRUE experience of stalker and nothing else", but they failed in making a great product, as always.
womp womp, seethe harder
But how does the gunplay feels, the atmosphere, the dialogues? ok, it's not a "true stalker" experience but is it any good in other things? it's clear as cristal that this was made from the place of hate towards russians and people who want to write their own stories about the stalker universe and that's pretty lame.
Being a traditionalist will never be a good thing because you're blinded by your stupid and close minded believes.
derp. I'm not a traditionalist. Radiophobia 3 is one of my favorite mods and it's as far from traditional as it can get.
But to answer your questions,
Gunplay is the result of STRIFER's project, Gunslinger, not AP-Pro's work.
@@cantgameright thanks for replying to my question, you should have added all that precious info to your video tho
@@v7001.ver4 it's not what the video is about though, it's not a review. The video is about how True Stalker isn't

Incredibly Based Analysis (comment stolen from Tommy)
Wonder what is the perfect STALKER experience rn, one that is not broken like the OG games, or a FUCK ME simulator like Anomaly or Gamma
the OG games aren't broken. What makes you believe that they are?
@@cantgameright broken in the sense of outdated, the gunplay specially its awful
@@RogueBeatsARG theyre just fine lol
imagine getting canceled bc of were you are born
@@falcon6329 lol. What cancelling? Did I cancel Glukhovsky? He was born in the same place as Wolf and I've praised him. No. Engaging in information and cultural warfare will simply force my scrutiny in relation to it. If you fail to see how STALKER affects the war and vice-versa, you really need to take a closer look.
What do you mean that there's no alife? I was about to try the stuff.
Time to play Misery a 200th time, thanks for saving me some time.
Yeah they cut A-life from the game probably to have more control over character behavior.
@@cantgameright Maybe we have been too rough with Anomaly-Tarkov-at-Homes all this time, this is like removing anomalies or mutants (Or crashes, lol)
@@tanostrelok2323 hahaha I've never heard anyone call Anomaly "Tarkov at Home" but it's SOOO accurate. Thanks for that. LOL
NOT TRUE STALKER
Leave the politics out of game world
derp. what politics?
I don't like Anomaly. I'm a fan of the originals, I think they're still the best way to play and mod STALKER.
I'm not really into MMOs and there's a long list of games I want to get to before I sink my life into STALKER 2 in September
@@cantgameright Totally valid, I don't think I'd want to force anyone to play that shitty freemium game anyway!
this mod doesn't even come close to the original games, it's not a mod, it's some kind of garbage
Ayo white guy video essay dropped
he's not white lmao
Great video!
Пикник на обочине про "свободу и правду" ага, ага.
Ні, це про індивідуалізм.
"true stalker" is very subjective, after all these years of modding and all everyone got there own version of a "true stalker" game. Mine would be Gamma modpack, others would say EFP or Misery, and others will say Dead air is true stalker.
Mine is... the original three games.
Problem with this one, is that it doesn't feel like a stalker game at all.
@@PodcoTima it looks cursed, it looks like stalker SoC and stalker 2 at the same time.
For me it's Oblivion Lost Remake
Not saying the Stalker games are bad, they're honestly my favorite games of all time, but to compare this to Stalker is like comparing apples to oranges imo.
unless you're comparing apples to oranges and the oranges call themselves "true apple"
TS's merits were clearly highlighted in this video, but the point was to also highlight that it is not what it calls itself.
Deception? maybe its just 5 young people that didnt choose where they were born like all of us, and just wanted to make a fun game for others to enjoy without it being politicized to the point of hatred. I like your videos for the most part but do we need 1/3 of them to be "russia evil, stalker not russian it ukraine and russians are evil"? many Russians oppose the war too.
Yeah, many Russians started opposing it after they started being impacted by it lol. Look at Kharkiv
i barely understood anything from this video lol, and completely nothing at all from the 1st segment where you just talked random things about russia and ukraine
I love so much how you explain the true lies and truths... You just have it right. Thank you for helping us to see some of it.
100%
Holy shit this was so political, I loved it
The mod is really boring almost no gunfights take place. Its more like a walking sim
So it's a good game if only they named it something other than TRUE Stalker like maybe, Stalker: Axe?
It's not great but it's not terrible, to quote one of the authors of the CNPP disaster. The name is bold and perhaps arrogant which is why the tone of this video is what it is.
Interesting opinion. Thanks for video.
