a fellow ABR enthusiast! there's upcoming ABR SOC too. you might be interested in that. when i'm in a mood to replay clear sky or call of pripyat I usually fire it up with ABR, makes the gameplay more fun! and oh. Clear Sky is literally the best looking in the trilogy no joke. if only a lot of feature is not cut it might be the best. Fun fact! Clear Sky's title is originally Anarchy Cell which features a vastly different storyline and might I say the most beautiful way to expand the lore. It involves doppelgangers which the design documents called "Counterparts" that is copying numerous stalkers in the zone mainly caused by the expanding of the zone, it's been said that the zone is turning to a living entity and one of the cause of the existence of doppelgangers is because of that. Actually you'll find Father Valerian in vanilla Clear Sky dead in Red Forest. I actually tested and tried to backtrack to Cordon from Forest and the Father Valerian you interacted with in the early missions is still there alive and breathing. came back to red forest and the corpse is still there, bet there's more to that than just a glitch. what if the valerian we interacted is in fact the doppelganger. oh what could've been. such mystery and potential. This might be tackled in the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, coming from the latest trailer "And what do we have a decade later? The Zone, in our image, after our likeness." this will be epic mark my words. GSC going to the Solaris/Silent Hill 2/Dead Space alien entity attempting to understand and manifest humans will be groundbreaking. EDIT: Source of my ramblings about what clear sky originally is ua-cam.com/video/X0ywa8CSX5Y/v-deo.html&t y'all should check out and watch the whole iceberg video it's worth it.
@@strelok237 Doesn't run great at least on my 3070 and is locked at 125 fps by default. Dev confirmed it on the mod.db page. But I just dropped the game 30 hours in, becasue AO 1.2 made me not want to play anymore. Endgame seems to be balanced horifically. Not giving you any ressources while draining you with every enemy you come across. It made me hate the last two sessions I did. On top of crashing the game every single play session, sometimes even multiple times per hour. So I might come back to ABR in the future after all.
I see we are stalkers of one mind. Clear Skywas my favourite stalker game too. Arguably the story is not as mysterious and well written as ShoC but the side-content, the world and the faction stuff was sooo much fun!
5:49 AM in texas, just finished SOC with xpress remaster recommended by you and absolutely loved it and just installed ABR on clear sky and will play it all day when i wake up today sunday. Thank you Brother you’ve been lots of help, i was a gamma//EFP boy and my heart needed the lore so i decided to go back to the originals and watched your hot chocolate video lmao you’re the best 100% everything i needed to play the OGs
@@BlenderisedMind honestly it felt great but the cyberpunk dlc came out and i spent my life playing that and then the gamma update came out so i tried that and i tried to go back to finish CS and i couldn’t :( probably was just sleepy at the time but i will go back and finish it because it was fun when i was playing it from the beginning and got used to the gameplay but i feel like i took too long to come back. i will say playing this after SOC was great so far lore wise if you’re interested in the lore then clear sky is for you
You can't call yourself a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan without playing Clear Sky. I completed the vanilla twice with both endings and then started the modded ones. ABR is surely a way to go.
@@DocSauce-dl5gg Unlike the other games' multiple endings, Clear Sky has only two possible endings. This is most probably because the game is a prequel and the storyline must be linear to accommodate future events.
Obscure of all the " skip Clear Sky discussion " I played it at the time with the (infamous) complete 2009, and I loved it! As a Stalker serie fan I don't understand why someone would skip addictional content or content in general when the game is well done. Looking forward to try it again with this other mods
I've spent years with an intense dislike of Clear Sky. It took me four years just to play through it once, then seven more years to play through it again, all the while I did multiple SoC and CoP runs. I just picked it up again with ABR after watching this video, and holy shit is it so much better. I don't think I could ever go back to vanilla.
So I decided to replay CS once again, since I got hit with the sudden urge to replay the stalker series. I beat vanilla SoC about a day or two prior to moving onto CS. I never did an entire CS playthrough without at least the SRP mod (which fixes bugs). Upon starting a new game, I remembered that even with SRP, gunplay still sucks. And it sucks in a way that it makes the beginning section of the game a pain in the ass and unenjoyable. You have virtually no cover in swamps, the pretty much useless crouch and lowcrouch don't make it any better. Because I set the difficulty to master (as I usually do when playing stalker) I would drop dead in like 2 bullets from a pistol, but the enemy would tank quite a few before going down. I didn't mind the bullet sponge, what I minded is the inaccuracy, and even more so, the cutoff range of pistols, after like 30/40 meters your pistol bullets basically disappear and are unable to do damage, while enemies are perfectly capable of lasering you from that range. Instead of forcing myself to go through that unfun beginning section to get to the rest of the game which isn't much more fun either, I decided to download ABR, having watched your video long ago. The gunplay feels amazing, even pistols feel potent enough to take on enemies (at least the lightly armored ones, I'm yet to get out of swamps), but I have a few problems with the mod, or should I say, few things that I'm not really a fan of. Firstly, the economy is too easy, clearing 1 renegade (or should I say bandit, because the mod removes renegades) camp nets you roughly enough money to buy an MP-5, clear like 1 - 2 more and you can buy yourself the basic suit. Another thing I dislike is that pretty much all and any loot has been removed from corpses, when you loot corpses you find nothing on them (again, hope this is only the case for the swamps), this makes killing enemies feel less rewarding and removes any incentive to kill enemies outside of quests and faction wars (which are thankfully a big part of clear sky). You don't find ammo on downed enemies (except if it's in their gun), not that it would matter all that much considering ammo is dirt cheap, and you have an infinite weight limit. Which is another thing I'm not really a fan of, the infinite weight limit makes it feel like it's not stalker, combined with the enemies dropping basically no loot, you completely remove the looting aspect from the game, which is a core aspect of stalker, which I'm sure many people would agree with. They also completely butchered the suit system, now you only have 3 types of suit - light, medium and heavy, the upgrades can either specialize the suit for ballistic protection and mobility or anomaly protection and artifact slots. There are still different factions' version of the 3 types of suit, but they are functionally completely the same, they differ only cosmetically. I'm still going to give this mod a shot, just because gunplay feels so good, even though it seems like the only good thing about this mod. I'll have some fun with it, but honestly, this mod turns the game into something other than stalker. I'm not sure how the difficulties work or if the reason for all this is because I picked ultraviolence difficulty mode. Do the different difficulties just make you die more easily or do they change the progression as well?
No one ever gave you a reply, I just wanted to say that I feel the same way about everything you mentioned. The looting not being present and the removal of stashes make the game just feel off to me. They take away a want or reason to go hunt down all the dead bodies for gear and explore the world hunting for stashes. The enemeis are terminators in the swamp on Ultra Violence(Master). This mod is fucking hard as hell on the hardest difficulty with the shitty weapons you get in the swamp.
@@Ryzzingsun Most people can't be bothered to read a wall of text, so that may be why. I completed the game with ABR and then did a full vanilla run like right after. At this point I got used enough to clear sky's shitty guns that it doesn't bother me as much anymore. I still feel like SoC had the best gun "progression". You start with shit weapons, gradually upgrade to usable but not great guns, then to good weapons and eventually top tier weaponry. In CS pretty much all guns are shit without upgrades, while in CoP you can get the best weapon in the game in the first 5 - 10 minutes of the playthrough.
There’s so much hate online for abr and im not sure why. I’m really excited for my first playthrough of clear sky but i don’t wanna play it vanilla. Should I use srp or abr for a first playthrough
After playing Stalker 2 and having that game finally get me into the series; I’m excited to finally want to play the Clear Sky & the other 2 games. A lot of what you said in the video reminds me of the new HoC.
I played this when it came out.. and I think I struggled with it, because of the gun play, harsh economy and harder medical system.. i got to a point in the game where I had no health, no money, and couldn't progress. I think I'll have to try this one out. Thank you.
Haha now I remember why I didn't complete the game at the time: faction war and guns. 1 .There were no point in attacking or defending bases because 10 min after you repelled the bandits.... well another attack and the NPC couldn't hold the base. 2. Best gun in the game was the Colt 1911, I used it on exosqueleton guys, bloodsuckers...very effective. Maybe I should try this mod...
So I found S.T.A.L.K.E.R. through Anomaly. Specifically Drewski's "A Night In The Zone" video. I was going to play Anomaly first but after seeing a few videos decided to give the original trilogy a shot. Picked up the collection off Steam for $40, and just booted up Shadow of Chornobyl today. And I'm glad I did. But I would be very grateful for a first playthrough mod guide because the gunplay is somewhat frustrating. I spent most of my time using the hip-fire crosshairs (It felt 10x easier to hit shots compared to ADS). Nowhere near as bad as Clear Sky, I'm certain. But certainly less than ideal. Still like the game though. Aaaaaaand it looks like ZRP is going to have to be on that list because Kruglov is stuck inside the Ecologist base and the doors won't open.
I have 2 huge problems with this mod 1. Every enemy that I loot always basically has nothing on them. Its frustrating because looting to me is part of the experience. 2. The removal of stashes. I enjoy hunting for these little boogers and the rewards that they bring.
I just finished Clear Sky after exactly 24 hours in it, with ABR mod I had more fun shooting than I ever did before in a Stalker game! I did find the story very lacking but the world more than made up for it. I wish it was implemented as it was in SoC where you cannot clearly see on your map where enemies are, I feel it would give the game a bit more serious feel. But I abosolutely loved it and am really glad I watched this video a week ago when I started downloading it! :) Onto Call of Prypiat now!
Damn man having recently beaten all stalker games on console, Clear Sky has had to be the roughest one to get into, from the gunplay mechanics to the bugged out faction war between freedom and duty, so far now that I got the trilogy on pc and replaying clear sky again after beating radiophobia 3 and gotta say its been a blast.
I haven't played with ABR yet but I plan to check it out in the future. I currently am using SRP - it's pretty cool and doesn't alter the vanilla experience much at all (there are some sub mods that alter the ballistics which I highly recommend)
I played CS with most SRP sub mods including the ballistic and weapon overhauls, gunplay felt much better than vanilla CoP honestly. Story might be shit and the game might still be kinda buggier than soc and cop but it was definetly fun to have more shooting than you do in the other games
Yeah just started this game and couldnt stand the guns compared to the first one. Downloaded this mod today and its making me love the game a lot more than i was in vanilla
I'll agree. Clear Sky (Which I played with Clear Skies bugfix project) just has an extremely cozy vibe accosciated with it. Except the first hour or so
SRP with the optional Alternative Ballistics addon. Still I think there's a bug where bullet hits don't register when an NPC is in a wounded animation... wait for it to finish and then shoot.
I'll have to explore mods like this since neither EFP or Gamma are scratching my particular itch. I loved Gammas mechanics I just don't have the time for it's grind. Maybe there's another modpack for Anomaly out there, but till then this and Radiophobia are both nice.
Thanks man. Insta-subbed! I just installed this mod and am about to start it up Kinda not sure how I'll feel about the weight requirement being gone, but I'm sure I can get over that for the other perks. Cheers bro
I'll have to try it out again... I never played CS all the way through, I got frustrated with the weapons quickly. I've played SoC many times and CoP twice but now that I know there is a mod to fix that I'll have to go try it again. I've been planning to play all three soon, hopefully just in time for HoC to release - fingers crossed. Even if it is a bit late we should all be okay with that, as long as the delay is to polish and give us a solid game right out the gate.
on the subject of the upgrades, as someone else with adhd I personally didn't find them to be all that annoying, they seemed so at first until I realized that you can just take a glance at the corner of the icons to know what the upgrades do under the flavor text. as for abr, I agree it's great, but it's a shame they de-emphasized exploring to find stashes and such (by removing a lot of the vanilla stashes). lastly, about the guns, apparently they were going for a more... close range style of combat. that being said, love the vid :D
Man, I was so stimulated that I didn't even notice the lack of stashes. Can't say I missed them, especially with all the loot Stalkers and zombies drop... on the upgrades, it's not so much that the upgrading is unintuitive, it's just that I constantly want to try different weapons and taking them to a mechanic and sinking some coin into it is pretty much a requirement if you intend to use it.
@@cantgameright fair enough, the newer weapons can get especially difficult to measure the effectiveness of when the game doesn't seem particularly inclined to indicate whether it's better than the base model of your current weapon. as for the stashes, it's less so loot like medkits and normal tier guns, moreso stuff like the veles detector you can find in the artifact mine in the swamps that also reveals a hidden weight artifact, just neat stuff for completionists and explorers to find.
@@LuisC7 because it’s got all the stimulation of immersive sims and rpgs minus stuff like complex character building beyond the fun exercise of artefact balancing, with combat reminiscent of something like cs 1.6 or half life
Yes indeed, I do remember trying to play Clear Sky, and even though I wanted to finish it, the bugs and general clunkiness just killed the game for me. Finished SoC and couldn't wait to get into CS but it was very rough: the constant wrestling with fraction war bugs, broken missions, anemic weapons and numerous other crap, ugh.. Now that enough time has passed and loyal fans fixed it for certain, I can finally go back into the Zone.
I always loved clear sky for it's true embrace of sandbox. Like my suffering with GTA games, where they make main story centric gameplay on a perfect map for sandbox and never release a singleplayer sandbox mode where you can choose what your character will be not tied down by a mostly linear story.
I understand the mod suggestion but I just want something close to vanilla while still improving upon it with improved weapons, bug fixes, and some stuff that I heard is in the complete mod. I will be using the Starter pack mod for SoC as a reference when comparing it. The only difference is I would want some gameplay improvements.
You convinced me to try this mod for my third playthrough. As i never came close to do a significant amount of side quests in Clear Sky, this'll be quite fun. Quick question, what mod do you use for CoP at 00:43 ?
I can get behind this sentiment for vanilla CS. I played through that and saw firsthand it was just a grenade dodging simulator with the worst difficulty spike I've ever experienced in a video game.
Hey dude, how it's going? It's been a while since you didn't uploaded any videos. Hope everything is ok and still waiting for your firs play through with mods video.
Installed this and just finished the swamp the fastest I've ever done it on master. Honestly I'm kinda bummed out. No stashes is a weird decision for a stalker game, and the decision to give infinite carry weight despite the lack of loot on enemies is a weird choice. It feels like this mods real purpose is to focus on the faction war system, and by focus I mean go shoot. No need explore, just go to war. I'll stick with it since I just did a run of Radiophobia 3 and Gunslinger CoP, and maybe it'll change my mind after some more time, but these things really bug me. I feel like I'm just playing AO lite with cheated carry weight and ignoring stashes.
Now you can buy all three games in the series on the Xbox Series S/X for $39.99 and it will have mod support. It already has a controller support system. I am going to be buying the Xbox version for my Series S because my gaming computer literally decided to crash into total Oblivion, and it cannot be repaired.
clear sky is not bad, but had a lot of problems which make me hate it to play it -the annoying bleeding, literally you bleed for even breath -the aimbot of enemies, literally i die and die for every enemy because ALWAYS manage to kill me in 2 or 4 shoots -the new way to find artifacts, the idea of using radars is cool but the problem is you need to make kamikaze and throw yourself in dangerous anomalies to pick one -the first hour is pure bullshit, the enemies kill you easier, the bleeding drain your health, barely you find healing items specially bandages and when you think the hard part is over, SURPRISE you die for that damn heavy machinegun in the entryway of second zone. But i repeat, clear sky is not bad, but come on with the problems i say up and some others i forgot to say is normal most of the people just prefer to skip clear sky. (so if someone know mod which fix those problems, specially the ai aimbot/massive dmg and the bleeding problem pls tell me)
Clear Sky is also my favorite, The mission objectives (from time to time) are too janky in COP and SOC which earns them less points. Clear Sky's story progression was just simply more straightforward and I dont know why Call of Pripyat didnt follow that structure, its almost like COP took 1 step forward and 1 step back, and with less areas to explore, COP also earns less points...
my stalker cs game keeps crashing. it crashed when i hipfired an mp5, crashed when i walked with a group of npc, crashed when i killed a mutated dog, how do i fix it?
usually when you get many crashes it could be down to mixing new mods and old saves or try running mods that were unpacked improperly. A good way to avoid the latter is by using 7zip as your extractor and using the "extract" function instead of just dragging and dropping. As far as the former games, the only solution is a new game. Maybe that helps?
@@Anonymous-gn1rk Probably a good idea to move over to 7zip, I've seen many modpack discords explicitly saying that WinRAR causes issues. Plus, a benefit to 7zip is that it's a smoother experience overall too, I find it to be a better tool.
Wish I could play it but the mod just isn't working. Copied the bin and patch folders as required and instructed, launcher hangs. Glad everyone got to experience it but this is gonna have to be a skip for me.
Just got the STALKER trilogy, finaly. I have some questions before I'll start to play (I don't know the story of any of three games) 1. Should I play them with mods? If yes, then which mods? 2. Where should I install mods? Do you know any non ruzzian related resourсes?
Yes, there are many mods that are "first playthrough friendly" as I like to call them. So do feel free to get started on Moddb and Nexus mods. They are a good place to find mods. Do watch out though, there are some Z modders posting stuff there. Modding STALKER is very easy, just make sure you start "new game" for big changes. For Shadow of Chornobyl "Memories of the Zone" is a great remaster of the game, that one runs standalone though and is pretty picky in only running through an engine shortcut in the game folder, so mind that. Xpress Tuning's Ultimate Remaster does most things right too. Of course, I could tell you all this through this comment, but you can also wait a few days for that video I'm making, lol! So stay tuned.
I've been wanting to play with this mod, I followed the tutorial on how to install it and it did not work its just stuck in the loading screen saying "loading texture". I do believe there is a lot of skipped ways on how to install it on a detailed way and as a guy who doesn't know much of modding I had difficulty. This is the only stalker game that I had difficulties installing a mod, I would highly appreciate it if you make a detailed tutorial on how to install this.
When i first played Stalker as a teenager, i tought Clear Sky was the only Stalker game. LoL. I finished the game twice, uninstalled it. After few years i wanted to play it again and i mistakenly installed Shadow of Chernobyl i finished it twice. It seemed different to me. Uninstalled it. After reading more info about Stalker i see there was a third part. I installed Call of Pripyat and i didnt like it because it seemed like you play in few regions only and the game was boring... Clear sky was always my favourite part of the whole game just because of the Facton warfare and big world. Never realised that the guns suck because i was too happy to play it and after gun upgrades the weapons seemed better then ever. No need even for this ABR when u upgrade the guns... I tottaly agree with you that CLEAR SKY is the BEST STALKER and this is coming from an Eastern European that grew up playing STALKER . ME and my friends HAD A CHALLENGE to pass the MAIN QUEST with TOZ - 34 Shotgun only. That gun simply never brakes and is very reliable. For heavy armored targets use Slugs or Darts and for mutants use Buckshots. Every other open world apocalipse game can be considered a child of Stalker. STALKER is number 1.
Hey it's my first time playing stalker games, and i start it with clear sky, yes i agree with your opinion about the gunplay, anything perfect in clear sky except the gunplay I just want to ask, is ABR mod will work with my current save files? Or i have play from the start again? Because i'm not finished the story yet
Arsenal overhaul is fine but it wrecks the faction radios which is a crime in my eyes. Other than that plain AO is fine. There's a newer version that has some strange and unnecessary additions from Metro, I recommend avoiding that one.
@@11bravo505 not really. It does update colors and weapon models but after that my only qualms with it are with faction radios being replaced. I talk a little bit more about it in my video about modding the original trilogy
Not a big deal at all for me but I think that there's a possibility it was causing soft-locking of quest progress, so the option to join was cut to prevent that.
@@cantgameright thank u i came from Modding the STALKER Trilogy im playing soc for the first time with Memories of the Zone mod and im loving it just to tell ur the modding video was hight quality shit keep up with good work and sarcasm🤣
so i downloaded this it works but i cnt equip anything in my bottom weapon slot anyone know how to fix it or did i do something wrong??? thx in advance awesome mod beside cnt equip in both weapon slots
I tried ABR and I ran into a glitch where I get no new mission after I clear out the swamps and I am losing health for no reason. Any fixes or do I just need to restart?
Yes, Clear Sky is reall that good. It is my favourite of all the STALKER series, although Shadow of Chernobyl & Call of Pripyat are absolutely good too. The latter is graphicly on par with Clear Sky but the total area is less than that in Clear Sky. Call of Pripyat resembles in concept Shadow of Chernobyl. One should mention Lost Alpha too, which is rather a separate game than a mod to Shadow of Chernobyl. If real graphics mod appear that are free of bugs then the STALKER game is insured in its longevity. Up to now I knew only Complete mod to STALKERs that is very old but up to it and stable.
i played stalker clear sky with abr and it was horid. the AI were insane and when i learned that i could run to avoid their shots my sprint glitched out and broke across saves. i once shot an ai 10 times with a shotgun at about 10 feet and it didnt kill him. i constantly die from random health loss. i dont know what you did you get it playable and fun bc it felt like a chore personally. maybe i installed a file wrong?
Does this work with the "Complete" mod? Also, I'd question how accurate it makes the guns. I've noticed that many (if not most) mods tend to overdo things. So is the game too easy now because your guns are so accurate? Or does this mod just improve things a little?
The only thing that Stalker Clear Sky needs is gameplay overhaul, because the gameplay in this game, even in comparison to Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat sucks. Like, the weapons are bad and even upgrades doesn't save them. The prices for the upgrades are too expensive, so expensive that I can't even upgrade a Clear Sky faction armor that was given to me after helping them out, because one upgrade takes away almost all of my money. The grenades, when you throw them, are tend to disappear in mid air when you throw them, which automatically makes you waste them for no reason. The night time is longer than the day time and they switch too fast between each other. The artifacts are mostly useless, because if in original game they could give you either better stamina, restoring health or making you carry too much stuff without getting tired, in Clear Sky most of them are giving you a radiation poisoning, so when you put at least one artifact on your belt, it gonna slowly kill you, and that entirely renders artifacts useless. So instead of using them for myself, I sell them to upgrade my armor. Which leads me to the economy system in this game. It sucks too! Like, when you sell something, you can't get enough money to upgrade something, and on the other hand everything is expensive, so you can't even buy a proper gun because it will cost like a trillion $ or something like that. So the best bet is to find someone's gun, fix it, upgrade it and use it. And that leads to the fact that you can't even try every gun out until the end of the game. Like, most of the time I only use my AK-47 and Vintar BC. Later I upgrade a pistol, or find upgraded pistol from one of the bandits on the outpost and that's it. You can't even try all of the guns out because you don't have the chance to do so, because all of the guns sucks and they are expensive to buy or impossible to find. So yeah, Stalker Clear Sky needs a massive gameplay overhaul, because playing vanilla game is painful. You can't even stash some of your guns to later pick them up, because they will be gone automatically after you load your save file back when you return to the game.
hear me out. I know most people hate the dynamic music of clear sky but it has a nostalgia factor to it for me. It doesn't feel right without it. Is there anyway to add it back after installing ABR?
the only downside is that you cant join bandits or do their missions but at the same time i hate the bandits anyway, they are scum so its not like we are missing a lot of crap.
At the hospital helicopter mission I don't know why but u can't beat it because of the abr mod therefore I quit it and if u want to enjoy u can use different mods but don't use abr for cs guys
Actually i like Clear Sky because: 1. Vanilla shitposts (Yar & Ashot's d-ck measuring contest) 2. First time you can repair your weapons (before Call of Pripyat, except if you play CoP before) 3. The Zone feels more like a party unlike the desolate Shadow of Chernobyl (i guess this because that big chungus emission when the bald merc and Lebedev bois goes after Strelok) or adventurous Call of Pripyat 4. Bandit radio. Yes. Fits to the Zone's party
While nothing beats my first point of contact with the stalker universe - vanilla SoC - , Clear Sky with arsenal overhaul was some of the most fun and one of the wildest rides I had in any videogame. Plus the best atmosphere and combat by a country mile. And although the ending is... (garbage) Is pure kino material. Play it pals.
Hey, when you doing a mod guide for Heart of Chernobyl, it's my first time playing it, and I want to mod it for modern experiences but also close to vanilla, but I don't know how to mod.
Oh hey man, funny you ask that, I just shared a video about that very topic, good job I ran into your comment while checking out the ones landing over there. I'll give Heart of Chornobyl the same treatment when it comes ;) hakuna matata
If the one you played was Arsenal Overhaul then yeah, the one in this video, ABR, is much much better in terms of its weapons as well as its fidelity to the OG's world.
@@cantgameright Yes it was Arsenal Overhaul, I chose that cuz of what you can start out with. But seeing ABR in your video it definitely more polished looking than AO. Not bad mod but AO is bit flawed here and there.
@@frostwolfe4982 I do agree that I don't think ABR is perfect, namely regarding unlimited carry weight and unbalanced economy, had they imposed *some* level of resource management we'd probably have the perfect Clear Sky remaster IMO. Stashes are missing, but if the loot and economy system is made balanced again, they should make a comeback too.
Clear Sky, I had two gripes. 1 the guns suck and wear down way too fast. 2, unless you've played the game previously you don't know Limansk is a one way trip so with your gun already worn down and misfiring you gotta do the rest of the game with shit
Clear Sky is literally the best STALKER game out there. It's the only game that YOU ARE NOT the main character. Scar is a nobody. Just a guy trying to stop someone from getting him killed. Nothing more nothing less.
tried abr and its honestly awful.. who actually thought this was balanced? You can literally snipe enemies from extreme distances with the starting shotgun
got about 20 hours in both SoC and CoP but only 10 in clear sky, I did finish it but holy fuck I just rushed through the end because of how impatient I got
@@weewoo1689 If you try to undo the mod's installation you should be able to run vanilla just fine. Just retroname the original folders and tag ABR's with something so that the game know where to look for files. If it doesn't run after that, try verifying the original files through your steam/gog/whatever else launcher and running it again.
I honest didnt liked clear sky at all... i not played it alot but im giving it a chance. Its just a little repetitive in the start, go here, go there, kill some renegades, kill some military, help loners, help clear sky, help everyone... also, the guns perfomance is bad AF in vanilla and the games is very unffair because they only give pistol and double barrel shotgun... but i will finish it because im kind bored of playing gamma that almost has no lore and no goals at all.
Sorry, but I don't think it's a really good idea to recommend this mod for a first time playthrough. Sure, for a repeat playthrough it's great. But this changes the game too much and a new player won't experience it as how the devs intended. Some tweaks here and there are fine. Heck even weapon overhauls are fine. But this one changes too many things, like limitless inventory, removes the ability to join certain factions, etc.
The alternatives are Arsenal Overhaul and LFO and I think ABR commits much more forgivable sins. Arsenal Overhaul removes the banter and music from the radios as well as removes a couple staple weapons while introducing many dozens of others. I think that these are disqualifiers because all you retain are the game's script and mechanics, but its character is partly gone. LFO then wastes the player's time with gimmicky survival elements that resemble Misery as well as expand the world beyond the Clear Sky map, it also performs horribly. I want to like and was close to recommending it, but around 6 hours in I called it quits, it's a bit of a drag. ABR improves graphics greatly without killing performance, and keeps CS's identity: HUD, weapon list, faction radios, dialogue lines, all remain intact. I agree that its biggest sin is the removal of carry weigh limit, but it's the only mod that feels like a genuine Clear Sky Remaster, streamlining and perfecting the OG's strengths while trimming its weaknesses. The other two add loads of unnecessary material (arguably bloat) that opaques what makes "Clear Sky" "Clear Sky." ABR is the only one of those three that preserves the world and story so that the player experiences them as the developers intended. is the gameplay much more streamlined? Yes, but I'd argue that this is what makes it so welcoming for a first playthrough. Not being able to join the bandits (it's just that single faction that you can't join) and the removal of stashes and USB drives streamline the gameplay loop but that doesn't mean that there's less to do, my ABR playthrough was longer than my first and only pure vanilla by more than 10 hours because I found it more stimulating to be able to upgrade more weapons with greater ease than a single weapon with a few more complications in the way. I was enjoying the gameplay loop so much that I was doing every quest and engaging in the faction wars only to delay the ending of the game as much as possible. ABR basically let me enjoy myself more and explore the world and equipment options more fully than Vanilla genuinely making it feel like a carefully polished version of the same game. NGL though, I do wish carry weight was not unlimited. Lastly, I believe that anyone who intends to play Clear Sky in pure form will and should just play it Vanilla without bothering to look up videos like this one. With that said, many people will mod it for their first playthrough regardless, my mere intent here is to share the best way to do that and hopefully sway some players who would have otherwise quit or skipped Clear Sky because they can't tolerate it in its vanilla state. Oof, forgive the long comment bud hehe, it's just that the thoughts kept coming and coming. Thanks for taking the time to engage :D
a fellow ABR enthusiast! there's upcoming ABR SOC too. you might be interested in that. when i'm in a mood to replay clear sky or call of pripyat I usually fire it up with ABR, makes the gameplay more fun!
GSC going to the Solaris/Silent Hill 2/Dead Space alien entity attempting to understand and manifest humans will be groundbreaking.

abr is so damn janky, literally within seconds in both cs and cop there's just flickering textures and loading skips.
@@limpa756did not happen for me, abr was actually pretty smooth.
I also played SoC with the Xpress Tunings mod! It was so great. How does the CS ABR mode feel by comparison? I'm keen to try it! Cheers :)
It finally got cold down here in texas i was just thinking about how cold and grey it was and how it looked like stalker lol

This was my first Stalker game back in the day. I loved it. The lighting effects and gameplay were outstanding.
You can't call yourself a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan without playing Clear Sky. I completed the vanilla twice with both endings and then started the modded ones. ABR is surely a way to go.
Can you tell me how I can apply the ABR mod? Just bought the game yesterday
both endings?! I think clear sky has no multiple endings

Since I played the vanilla trilogy on each (western) release I still love playing just vanilla every now and then, including CS.
Bro for soc use zrp and double damage for all weapons.
Clear Sky is my first stalker game since SOC simply doesn't launch on my PC, and this mod looks perfect. Thanks!
Clear sky is upgraded "shadow of chornobyl" but that have so much corridors and action for stalker
Clear Sky was already my fav original trilogy stalker game, and now that i found out about this mod, it's going higher for sure!
I have 2 huge problems with this mod
A year later, thank you very much friend im going to enjoy my saturday now
Yeah just started this game and couldnt stand the guns compared to the first one. Downloaded this mod today and its making me love the game a lot more than i was in vanilla
I find It more easy to kill than soc
When The Gunslinger Adaptation for Clear Sky comes out, it is going to be a game changer.
I'll agree. Clear Sky (Which I played with Clear Skies bugfix project) just has an extremely cozy vibe accosciated with it. Except the first hour or so
Out of the three games clear sky with only sky reclamation project was the most immersive and fun for me lol :D
I just installed this mod and am about to start it up
Kinda not sure how I'll feel about the weight requirement being gone, but I'm sure I can get over that for the other perks.
Cheers bro
Do u know how to fix the carry weight
Why so many ADHD people playing STALKER? myself included
@@LuisC7 da una estimulación más buena que el coño.
Fine I bought it. Never played CS. Thanks for the vid
Nicely done, Stalker.
Welcome to the zone, loner!
Great animation and effects bro

4:33 I am Twatson. Nice to me you!
I can get behind this sentiment for vanilla CS. I played through that and saw firsthand it was just a grenade dodging simulator with the worst difficulty spike I've ever experienced in a video game.
Pizdaryenko!
Clear Sky was the best! The atmosphere was the dankest but it was amazing. And also - i love it's visuals, more than any stalker mod.
Hey dude, how it's going? It's been a while since you didn't uploaded any videos. Hope everything is ok and still waiting for your firs play through with mods video.
Best part of Clear Sky? The Freedom vendor Ganja. "Peace out dude! Too bad we didn't roll a joint together"
It's too bad that I'm in Duty😏
Is this runs on win 11? I did install everything followed the video how to install but when i start the game nothing happens. Any idea?
I will play and enjoy the vanilla version
Pretty accurate depiction of L85
I just don't know what I'm doing and things are always bung thinking of quitting it
clear sky is not bad, but had a lot of problems which make me hate it to play it
-the annoying bleeding, literally you bleed for even breath
-the aimbot of enemies, literally i die and die for every enemy because ALWAYS manage to kill me in 2 or 4 shoots
-the new way to find artifacts, the idea of using radars is cool but the problem is you need to make kamikaze and throw yourself in dangerous anomalies to pick one
-the first hour is pure bullshit, the enemies kill you easier, the bleeding drain your health, barely you find healing items specially bandages and when you think the hard part is over, SURPRISE you die for that damn heavy machinegun in the entryway of second zone.
But i repeat, clear sky is not bad, but come on with the problems i say up and some others i forgot to say is normal most of the people just prefer to skip clear sky. (so if someone know mod which fix those problems, specially the ai aimbot/massive dmg and the bleeding problem pls tell me)
I loved Chernobyl and Pripyat but Clear Sky was a big no from me because of that god awful aiming RNG.
Might check it out now, cheers!
For some reason this mod doesn’t work for Clear Sky. Is it because I’m on Windows 11? Also keep getting the fsgame.ltx error or whatever it’s called.
my stalker cs game keeps crashing. it crashed when i hipfired an mp5, crashed when i walked with a group of npc, crashed when i killed a mutated dog, how do i fix it?
usually when you get many crashes it could be down to mixing new mods and old saves or try running mods that were unpacked improperly. A good way to avoid the latter is by using 7zip as your extractor and using the "extract" function instead of just dragging and dropping. As far as the former games, the only solution is a new game. Maybe that helps?
@@cantgameright I have WinRAR. Is that good?
@@Anonymous-gn1rk Probably a good idea to move over to 7zip, I've seen many modpack discords explicitly saying that WinRAR causes issues. Plus, a benefit to 7zip is that it's a smoother experience overall too, I find it to be a better tool.

Clear Sky is unironically my favorite in the trilogy
Just got the STALKER trilogy, finaly.
I have some questions before I'll start to play (I don't know the story of any of three games)
@@cantgameright Thank you! I think I'll wait then
I've been wanting to play with this mod, I followed the tutorial on how to install it and it did not work its just stuck in the loading screen saying "loading texture". I do believe there is a lot of skipped ways on how to install it on a detailed way and as a guy who doesn't know much of modding I had difficulty. This is the only stalker game that I had difficulties installing a mod, I would highly appreciate it if you make a detailed tutorial on how to install this.
If it fixed the perms-spawning bandits at the train station then this fixes the games biggest problem 👍🙂
Hey it's my first time playing stalker games, and i start it with clear sky, yes i agree with your opinion about the gunplay, anything perfect in clear sky except the gunplay
I just want to ask, is ABR mod will work with my current save files? Or i have play from the start again? Because i'm not finished the story yet
Couldn't see it on the mods website in fethures so gonna ask here
Does ABR fix grenade spam and bleeding wich were insane headaches for me
Difficulty settings seem to work differently from SoC. What difficulty would you recommend for CS ABR?
It was super fun at the highest. I think it's still called Master.
I know this video is old but finishing up SOC and going to play Clear Sky. Whats the difference from ABR and Arsenal Overhaul for Ckear Sky?
Arsenal overhaul is fine but it wrecks the faction radios which is a crime in my eyes. Other than that plain AO is fine. There's a newer version that has some strange and unnecessary additions from Metro, I recommend avoiding that one.
@@cantgameright Does Arsenal Overhaul 1.2 have graphic changes?

I remember playing the home of homeless mod more than a decade ago or something
i played stalker clear sky with abr and it was horid. the AI were insane and when i learned that i could run to avoid their shots my sprint glitched out and broke across saves. i once shot an ai 10 times with a shotgun at about 10 feet and it didnt kill him. i constantly die from random health loss. i dont know what you did you get it playable and fun bc it felt like a chore personally. maybe i installed a file wrong?
I'm new to stalker and I wanna know how to mod it to get Abr on clear sky
hear me out. I know most people hate the dynamic music of clear sky but it has a nostalgia factor to it for me. It doesn't feel right without it. Is there anyway to add it back after installing ABR?
Clear sky is also my favorite. First game I played too
the only downside is that you cant join bandits or do their missions but at the same time i hate the bandits anyway, they are scum so its not like we are missing a lot of crap.
Im playing clear sky and it's awesome. Why so people hate it? Is it because if the army machine gunners?
At the hospital helicopter mission I don't know why but u can't beat it because of the abr mod therefore I quit it and if u want to enjoy u can use different mods but don't use abr for cs guys
Does the abr mod for clear sky remove combat music?
Actually i like Clear Sky because:
1. Vanilla shitposts (Yar & Ashot's d-ck measuring contest)
2. First time you can repair your weapons (before Call of Pripyat, except if you play CoP before)
3. The Zone feels more like a party unlike the desolate Shadow of Chernobyl (i guess this because that big chungus emission when the bald merc and Lebedev bois goes after Strelok) or adventurous Call of Pripyat
(garbage)
Is pure kino material.
@@cantgameright Awesome! thanks mate.
What's your take on ABR vs LFO? I'm weighing up both for actually playing and finishing it this time.
I ppayed this game 1 hour vanilla and said nope modded it with a gun overhaul mod. Wasnt this one, but Ill try this one as well.
@@cantgameright Agreed. The economy is bit janky in CS
Clear sky is my favourite in series!!!
Clear Sky, I had two gripes. 1 the guns suck and wear down way too fast. 2, unless you've played the game previously you don't know Limansk is a one way trip so with your gun already worn down and misfiring you gotta do the rest of the game with shit
Clear sky was always my favourite gamplay wise
My odd ahh only finishing Clear Sky. (Maybe the first one too?)
Clear Sky is literally the best STALKER game out there. It's the only game that YOU ARE NOT the main character. Scar is a nobody. Just a guy trying to stop someone from getting him killed. Nothing more nothing less.
it is not. it is a fuking drag.
Cs was the most atmospheric and hardcore from all 3 games- MY OPINION
Yeah the machine gun army dudes made the game hard but clear sky still my fav game
Just beat SoC downloading ABR as we speak
i played clear sky with a mod called faction war 3.8 , I dumped 200 hours into the game becouse of that on top of 3 playtroughs
tried abr and its honestly awful.. who actually thought this was balanced? You can literally snipe enemies from extreme distances with the starting shotgun
Slugs are effective at 200 m irl dude.
I mean they can also hit you too so it checks out.
Clear sky ots 14 is like getting circumsize by a Pitbull or something.
got about 20 hours in both SoC and CoP but only 10 in clear sky, I did finish it but holy fuck I just rushed through the end because of how impatient I got
I installed ABR and my game wouldn't start I can only assume can't game right was trying to sabatage my experience smh
Oi did you try over a clean vanilla install?
@@cantgameright uuuuuuhhhhhhh yes?
@@weewoo1689 If you try to undo the mod's installation you should be able to run vanilla just fine. Just retroname the original folders and tag ABR's with something so that the game know where to look for files. If it doesn't run after that, try verifying the original files through your steam/gog/whatever else launcher and running it again.
@@cantgameright oh I fixed it last night but thank you for trying to help babe
@@weewoo1689 *moans in turtle
It still heavily lacks the atmosphere of the first one
