I camped at the upper lake at the end of July. Arrived just before sunset on a Friday and the lower lake was packed, but I found a nice spot at the upper lake that I had camped at before. It is so amazing up there!

Wow, we’ve been trying to match schedules with you guys but something always comes up. We missed you by 4 days this time. We were there the Thursday after you. The wind was still there and actually got pretty cold which was an awesome break from valley heat. Great video as always and hopefully we will catch up on one of your other adventures. 👍🏼

Your videos are great. Nice to have something easy. Last year I took my small kids to Bowman. Was a little worried but they had a great time.

I appreciate these types of videos a little more as doing the harder trails with my off road trailer is not appealing or breaking down like many in past videos

I just completed this Trail a couple days ago. A couple of my friends who have heavily modified Jeeps invited me along. I watched your video before going to get an idea what I was getting myself into. Great video by the way.

very well done. Looks good for weeks and months in the wild. Helps me figure out if the Project M or similar will work for me. I need my truck bed for utility purposes too. Your idea of slider cabinet doors is very smart - light and simple to build and does not intrude into the standing space. Though I am seeking way more seating and sleeping, with 6ft of cabinets only on the left. 8 foot bed 2010 Tundra. Maybe full length 8 foot x 6 foot L-sectional sofa, constructed in sections of foamboard framing so it is light and easy to get in/out. I am used to backpacking and kayak camping so I am not keen to carry all the heavy RV quantities of stuff. But I own a 3.6KWhr Ecoflow Pro & solar panel to act as the unit's power station for a fridge, induction cooktop, maybe an instant pot or small slow cooker.

Sometimes I’m glad I have a 2.5 in my XJ, that thing never gets over 200 not matter how hard I’m pushing it.

if youre wondering; i did half of this( i camped exactly where they took a break at 18:00) on 31s, 35psi on the way up, in an 03 trailblazer ext(longer than a 2000s tahoe), from the south(bear river res) in a few months before this... its not that crazy, i only scraped my diff/sway bar a few times. if you have a normal/kinda stock 4wd truck... you can do this with some patience and even a spotter with common sense, not even "experience"(my wifes first time off roading/spotting was on this trail, with my instruction... i even let her drive some of the small rock garden stuff) gonna go back not that i have 35s

I was beginning to think we would never see the Dodge again. Nice to see it out there, sorry he had a bad day but it was relatively minor problems at least. The trail itself looked really fun, plenty of challenges mixed with great scenery. Thanks for sharing!

Funnel lake has kind of become the LA brobra lake, a hard road, the most people. This place is an adventure for us NorCenCal people. A straight shot from LA. Your take brings the memories back.

It's cool to see these places again. The last time I was up there was back before Covid. It's really a high alpine meadow environment, not desert. That Coyote flats/Big Pine section is pretty knarly. We did it years back going down on our DS motorcycles. That would be very challenging to drive up. The Coyote Flats area is possibly the only place in CA where you can 4 Wheel up over 11,500 ft. , if the trails are open.
