We always like to challenge our rigs before putting the big tires up front. I have a manual xj on 31” tires that I will usually start the trail. I can usually break trail up to about 3’. Then we go to the guys on 35s, then when they can’t go no more the 42s. Here in the Oregon valley our snow trips are pretty limited to only when the snow drops to low elevation so we usually have good snow to deal with.
Im a local to you guys right in Citrus Heights. we do some wheeling when we can. Went up 50 last week and blew up my front locker Lol the snow sucked. Looks like you guys had a good time.
What my buddies and I learned 30yrs ago doing this north of you up in the Plumas National forest, was putting the lightest rig with the largest tires first, than run them back to the heaviest. This usually worked well, by the time my heavy assed Toyota on 33's, weighed about 5k when loaded, the trail was all but groomed. When wheeling in from Graniteville to Bowman, does the Forest Service allow you to head out to HWY 20, or is that side still closed to wheeled vehicles. Years ago, we got ticketed back by Bowman, but we came in through lake Fuller side. I just recently found your videos, nice to see people still enjoying old school low key style wheeling.
Yes, sometimes just getting back out is the best you can hope for- still made for a great family outing! Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas, always good to hear from you guys!!!

soon it will be Modified at moment it has nothing Special, Stock Axles Bilstein Suspension Metalcloak Control Arms and Everything Cut out to Fit 40's With Stock Gears but 12 Valve Dont Care.
@4WDAdventureCrew great - did you rebuild the engine ? My 1998 4.0 has a slight knocking noise (piston slap, may be skirt) now at 190k and I think about what to do now ...thanks for the advice
I’ve ran 5-6 psi with no bead locks every snow run. Lower for getting unstuck, then inflating once out. A totally flat tire will get away from the edge. Of course no spinning or high speed cornering.
Awesome video... Just love your adventures, especially the snow. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Aussie fan🇦🇺👍

Your not going to float by spinning,+ drop to 3lbs easy snow wheeling
yeah Good luck with that snow Bro. Merry Christmas ! 😜
