Nice video! The QK65 was always my fav board but I never got a chance to get one back in the day and thock is my more preferred sound. I did the opposite of you, I picked up an Envoy which is a clack monster and tried to tone it down with some case tape & foams but I couldn't achieve true thock like the QK65 can, if only it came with the same silicone layer...

What you mentioned at 1:36… I believe it has a term called “relative luminance”. It’s a ratio between the ‘brightness’ (luminance) of the task area to the surrounding area (it depends a lot on the colour and distance of the surrounding area). But over all, too big ratio (in this case, either your screen is too bright and your surrounding light is too dim, or vice versa) = too contrast = causing eye strain, which might make you feel a dull headache after a period of time. In some cases can trigger migraine. So yes! The analogy about taking picture out of the window makes perfect sense! I came across your video and was pleasantly surprised when you mention that! For work lights I prefer linear overhead light sources because they almost completely eliminate shadows.

I found out that for me it's my ADHD fueling this. New hobbies/things give you a lot of dopamine for very little effort in the beginning. But when you start reaching 90% proficiency you realize getting that last 10% out of the hobby requires a lot of energy, which you don't have enough dopamine for, so you find something else and the cycle starts again. I'm not hating on it. I'm very good at many things and have an insane amount of knowledge, but at the same time I sometimes do envy those that can stick with something for more than just a few weeks/months/years and get to the very top.

for me premium doesn't mean about how if feels or how it performs but how the creator made the keyboard itself just like how it's an work of an art, that's what premium for me screams all about, so basically buying premium boards means appreciating the art of the artist
