Hello there, ya boy is taking a look at a very large keyboard this week - super stoked on how this one turned out. The plasti dip was the strangest spin but I hope you guys actually got something out of that experience, I promise it wasn't just for entertainment's sake hahahah. Hello hello I've made a mistake with the keycaps - the QK product is PBT and not ABS!! Still amazed by the quality tho
just also wanted to say that the QK100 keycaps are made in collaboration with Swagkeys and that the Swagkeys Doubleshot PBT keycaps are from the same mold!
Swagkeys said the keycaps is also mixed PBT and ABS actually
Maaaan my keycaps that came with my qk75 were dye sub…

The hatch pattern on a GMK keycap, many don't realize, is actually meant for structural integrity, the way it's shot prevents the possibility of the top & bottom layers separating.
The stem part of a GMK cap will be always the same colour/layer as the body of the keycap.
While other manufacturers usually do body as the top layer, and legend and stem colour/material as one at the bottom layer

The best part about QK releases isn't the insanely fast fulfillment times or their price to performance ratio but the certainty that a new Avi video for the board is releasing. I got my hands on the Cub65 and went for a cafe latte inspired build with all included foams and silicone pad. It ended up being my best build so far of the 5 keyboards I own. Part of me really wants to get the QK100 just because of how incredible my Cub65 sounds but I don't currently work at an office job nor do I see myself working in one in the near future.
Yeah, just wait for the right moment, if you end up in one, there will be even better keyboard with numpad offers out there for sure

I would bring a bright green keyboard to my office lol. Office equipment is so dull, and using a bright colorful keyboard would brighten up my typical mundane workday.

Not me, who 100% bought the green colorway specifically for the office 😶🌫️ I love having a fun keyboard at work! It really adds to my atmosphere, and I feel like I get to express a big hobby of mine! (Even if no one else cares about keyboards there lmao 😅 but they also don't mind the sounds! Several have said they even find it soothing 😁)

Honestly, I'm the same. All of my keyboard builds for the office are just as bright and vibrant as the ones I use at home. It's a great way to personalize my workspace.

If I may shed some light on why a lot of keyboard legends go for that “rounded Helvetica” look: on top of simply mimicking a popular style, the double-shot process can’t cleanly produce hard angles. All angles need a radius of (I believe) 0.2mm. The series 1 molds feature a condensed sans serif and the new MODE keycaps have new legend molds designed by Max Voltar.
This is all my understanding, I could be mistaken!

thank you so much mate! that honestly means so much. my camera is the fuji xh2s with a tamron 17-70 f/2.8, and colour grading is done in resolve. hope that helps haha

Should powdercoat it instead, you could always strip it off later too. Looks alot cleaner and is alot stronger too.

Wuque silent tactile's are great!
Another one that's less mushy are
TTC bluish white tactile's.
They're extremely good and they have a muted bottom out, I thought I would completely hate but ended up grabbing another set!
i don't get it, wuque used haimu's silent switch design which don't require rubber/silicon while ttc does. How can TTC's one be less mushy
Nice vid mate. KeebzNCables does some cool stuff. One of the only retailers that semifrequently carries the Wuque keycap pullers (I like them a lot more than the wire kind, but they do require some precision to avoid scratching, so it’s a trade-off)
The ice kachang tactiles were so good it pissed me off because they blew everything else out of the water. Going to try lubing some stuff to see if they compare, but wow
i know you said you used a peel-off spray paint, but nevertheless, i died a little, cuz the green is so pretty ;-;
Regarding the led screen: did you try to connect to the jst cable first, and then the fpc cable? bc i think i had the same issue, and connecting the cables it that order worked for me.
i love that you included different configuration, i was amazed by how quite the third build was!
hahaha sorry!!! yeah i did, tried everything and it came down to my proto pcb was missing a few diodes or something and they had to ship over a production one haha

I use an hhkb pro 2 type-s in the office. Funnily enough it’s much more quieter than the typical standard issue logitech keyboards which my officemates use lmao

Plasti dip is essentially "E-wtvr" color you're paying $20-$75 extra for.
I wish more people understood material science or at least basic manufacturing.
QK and Zoom have proven that my trying to get people to understand the "Zero risk All reward" GB model was disingenuous at best!
They combined zero experience with mystical BS because these "designer's" didn't understand material's and manufacturing are much more difficult than sketching something up on your iMac.
Now let's go look at the "new and improved United States manufactured" keycult". Yes this proves my pleas even more!
They decided to set up shop in America and didn't secure any anodization or powder coating or other dipping metal in color machine shop's so of course you're $1,000 keyboards are getting scuffed up going back and forth from here to China and back again 🤡🌍👌
