In 2018 I went from a young student studying at University, and competing at a high level sport, to a patient undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to treat my Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
I have made this channel to share my journey during cancer, and hope to share my insights with you. As a medical student, as a patient, and as an optimist.
I hope you can join me on this journey, and see where it leads. Nothing is guaranteed, other than my commitment to sharing with you all what I experience.

DOCTOR reacts to SCRUBS "My best friends mistake" | Episode 3 | Reacts to | Medicine Vlog |
In this video I am so excited to share my reaction to watching scrubs the Third episode where JD is an intern along with his best friend Turk and there is a mistake which impacts on patients safety. This was one of my favourite shows when I was going through medical school, and so I really enjoyed re-watching this episode as a Vlog.
If you are enjoying this medical version of my UA-cam, please do like, share and subscribe, help get this video to the video of the day maybe! :P Working as a Doctor has been a lot of fun, but always comes with its challenges. So it was nice to be able to explore them through this video.
As always comment below if you have video suggestions, or if there is a show you would like me to react to/watch, I would love to!

Wow, just came across this so helpful. I've recently completed induction chemo with great success, home for 2 weeks then back for consolidation chemo Hi-Dac and possibly Round 3. Still waiting on my donor 🙏 possibly my brother waiting on results. I have AML w/ FLT3 Gene Mutation. I've been posting on my channel for anyone interested, a bit different format, semi-daily posts rather than all in one. Great to hear about your successful BMT!! cheers!

Such a great attitude!
Waiting for transplant
Great vlog of your journey , my dad age 59 was diagnosed in september this year, subsequently quickly went into round 1 chemo ( his body / organs were strong enough to receive the strongest chemo) , unfortunate in round 1 to have a battle with sepsis however post round 1 he was in full remission , reality is that he has a dodgy chromosome that will always produce the cancerous cell so best chance of cure is BMT, he has just finished round 2 of chemo ( belt and braces round 2 I believe ) and now is waiting for BMT, myself and for definite him also is very nervous about the affects / GVHD of the transplant, I'm intrigued to no what % match did you have @tyler or any one else watching this that has had BMT what % match did you have with the donor. He has no siblings so that options is ruled out, generally healthy 59 year old with no other health issues, hoping that his age ( I no not a spring chicken but not old old) how well healthy he feels and that he has healthy organs give him the best chance of getting through the BMT and pray there is no major GVHD side effects. Wishing everyone watching a happy positive and healthy xmas and new year , once again any information relating to the BMT ,I would appreciate and Thankyou Tyler for sharing your journey.
In the 80’s my mom was 53 when diagnosed with chronic mylelogenous leukemia. She had just reached menopause and was feeling lethargic. She went to the doctor for a check up. Blood panel showed a high white blood count indicating an infection. Took antibiotic for suspected infection. Didn’t help. Had bone marrow biopsy to confirm diagnosis of leukemia. Prognosis of 3 to 5 years. Lived 7 years. I miss her.
Thank you for discussing leukemia, doctor! My relative’s immunity improved during treatment with Planet Ayurveda’s Immune Booster Capsules and Giloy Capsules. It complemented the conventional treatment perfectly and improved overall health. Truly a natural blessing!
Dear Friend, thank you to make the BMT Journey Video for us. I was told that BMT is the only way to cure my MDS. Hospital got donor for me. I can be get BMT in Jan. 2025. Watched your Video, made me feel stronger and not too scared. I am going to face this new journey for my life. I will to watch your amazing video when I am going stay in the hospital. It is very moved me.
How do I go back to your earlier videos about your transplant ?
Before . At prep chemo stage
Wish I can donate to someone I live in Zambia
You are so cheerful about this and a source of encouragement. I'm having a transplant in less than a month and pray for full recovery.

To everyone in here- check out your water. See EWG Water Database. It's in our water people.
Don't call yourself a Doctor yet unless you are. That can get you banned from your license for a breach of medical ethics. You are a student son. 0:25 Regards- CEO...well, not yet. Maybe someday.
Please tell me I am about to do bone marrow transplant. Is the bone marrow biopsy, and bone marrow aspiration hurtful 😢😢

Can malnutrition cause a low wbc ?
Youre positivity is awesome
everyone who asks about his health . he is still alive and his life is very good.. and he always posts on Instagram
You got lucky that you had capable doctors, most doctors have huge egos and refuse to take you seriously, at the very least that has been my case.
A year ago I had 105 fever and went into the hospital. The neutrophils were critically low. They asked if I had leukemia and put me on antibiotics. Then determined I had Covid. So they took me off 2 days later. For 10 days I was critically ill. I had esophageal candida and couldn't swallow even ice chip water. Pain was 10. Infectuous disease doctor wrote it off as Covid. I lost 15 pounds suddenly. For The last year I was getting infections constantly. Also tias...now chronic back pain. I took myself to a hemotologist. I have been in diagnosis of leukemia. Now refining the diagnosis. Next week I meet again with him. I have been isolated for a year. Neutrophils and other markers are way pointing to something and I'm fading fast. I started getting bruising around my eyes like black eye 2 days ago. I'm 70.im exhausted . I need to know what is happening. And I'm terrified. Any support out there would help.
Im getting my bone marrow transplant next month I admit there are moments I feel sad, there are moments I feel scared but I am determined that everything will be a success I am determined I am going to beat cancer just like you did ! Thank you for this video it makes me feel better about everything, thank you for being an inspiration
This is making laugh so hard! Stage 4B cervical for years. Haha My name is Laura and I am from Missouri USA
I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......the reason I believe we have diseases of all sorts such as cancer leukemia autism terminal illness heart disease is because we are still living in a fallen world under the curse of sin until God one day gloriously removes it! In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Paul pleaded with the lord to remove the thorn from his flesh however the lord turned down his request and said “My grace is sufficient for thee! My power is perfected in your weakness!” We can rest assure that God is always with us and if we just lean and rely on him he is always with us, and will never leave nor forsake us! Praise Be to God! He is omnipresent at all times and even though we may experience more than we can handle, he will never put more on us than only he himself can handle! However folks if you don’t know Christ as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! the truth is we are all in a terminal illness state and no one is promised tomorrow! If you want to know how to be saved from this horrible reality then please by all means don’t hesitate to comment right back so I can lead you to the savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly states “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation!” And Hebrews 3:15 clearly states, “Today if you hear his voice don’t harden your heartsIt is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!
My wife has diagnosed of leukemia recently with swelling neck, fever, sore throat, bleeding between teeths,etc..this happens continuesly,is there any medication or how long we can treat this?thanks
I have myelofibrosis.. only diagnosed yesterday, and may need a bone marrow transplant one day. Do you know if it is the same process as you went through? Loved your video also.. very inspiring. I live in Sydney also.
What was your wbc count when you got diagnosed?
The Oval
Extreme Coughing so bad I thought I had snapped ribs herendous bone pain , breathlessness
I was so relieved to watch your video. Even though the process seems so brutal, you came through with such good humor! I thought, I can do this too. All the best to you.
I’m relapsing in the same way, my MRD has come back as positive but I’m still in olden day testing classed as in a remission. I have my pre transplant appointment on 21st. This time cancer is going down for good 🎉
I’ve just discovered your channel. I’m currently relapsing AML right now. I am terrified xx
I was diagnosed with Iron deficiency after going to the doctor with what I thought I was having a hear attack as I could not breath and felt pain in the heart and could not walk far. I had to have blood transfusion. When it continues I went private and they did a scan and noticed enlarge lymph nodes. With a biopsy my symptoms were due to CLL.
Watched this 4 yrs after you posted. I hope you're in good health today and for the rest of your days
Do you have tp53 markers
Hi, I haven't been diagnosed yet, been to doctors last week and he ordered a blood test. I have those skin spots that look like blood, itchy legs and pale that thing with eye. Every now and then I test to see if I bruise by slapping my stomach and seeing if it bruises next day. My blood test is on 4th of October 2024, just over a week after my sons (14th) bday and week before mine. I'll be honest I am scared and cry very often with this in my head. I am hopeful that this is not C and that is just stress from losing my job few months ago. However I can't ignore the fact that I have started having naps in the afternoon and sometimes I get pains in my bones. Headaches don't really happen. I have my fingers, toes and hair on my legs crossed this is all just coincidence. Comments really helped me today, seeing how many people are saying that after treatment they are back to be free of C. Thank you for your video, I was a bit sceptic if I could find one about this. It helped a lot. I wish you all good luck! Love you all
How are you now?
@@Gamingzwithsaadd I am well, turns out that my rash was a cause for concern but after my blood tests came back, its all good. I have an appointment in April to have another blood test but so far, no cause for concern. Thanks for asking. Still here kicking, after the blood test I stopped sweating about small stuff. Thanks for asking and I hope you are well too? I am assuming there is a reason why you're watching his videos.
Hi. Hope you're in remission. Pretty scary stuff! My remaining sibling, my brother who is 2 years older than me. He has Leukemia and was tested for mutant gene DDX41. He gave me a family letter from BC Cancer Society in Burnaby BC so i could get test for this mutant gene. I was tested for about 76 genes. I tested positive for DD41 and another gene from Central Nervous System was changing. This 2nd one can cause tumors to show up anywhere in the body and apparently most are benign. I dont fully understand the Leukemia gene. Would you be able to explain t? Thank you in advance. I dont watch TV. I do watch British shows on Prime tv and Tubi on my iPad. On Tubi, ive been watching "Helicopter Heroes" in Yorkshire. 😊💗🇨🇦
