You have a right to be proud. I am proud of you. I was getting ready to start nursing and then SLE and RA got me. I was raising 5 small kids so I did not finish. You are an inspiration to this 65 year old woman. God bless you.
Hi Tyler! It's been so interesting and comforting watching your videos this past year. I was diagnosed with AML in July of 2020 - while also being in medical school. Had a BMT in October; so far, so good. I'm going back to uni next week (2 years left for me). You've had an insane journey, and I want you to know that all this documentation of everything you went through really helped me get a better idea of what to expect. I wish you all the best for your final year!
Wow Emilie so similar to my own experience, how are you currently tracking? I am hoping to make some study videos soon about returning to Uni so I hope they can be helpful for you in your return 😊😊
You are an inspiration. You don’t know how much your videos have helped me get through my stem cell transplant and they are definitely a bright spot in my recovery. You’re like an old friend. Would love to see more of these videos! I do have a question for you, any suggestions on what a person can do for the dry mouth experienced after a stem cell transplant?
Thanks so much for this! It means a lot to me 😊😊 How far through are you ? And for dry mouth, there was a spray they provided me. And then just a lot of Zooper Doopers (ie icy poles etc.) they were good at providing a slow and constant hydration 👌 Otherwise after that it’s just a matter of time
Tyler, I am SO happy for you! Work is the best when one really loves it, and that shines in your video. A few notes: One, I want the coffee you made in the morning. Looked delish. Two, you sport a stethoscope well. Three, I DIG the boots you are wearing. May I have them with the coffee? Four, you ARE an AML warrior. You are so inspiring. Thanks for the great vlog! 👏🏻🤟🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing. My hubby was recently diagnoise with AML. Life is like a roller coaster. He is suffering and currently under chemo induction process.
All my strength to your husband and you Tan Celine during this. Induction I recall particularly being very tough, but then the recovery after it for me was very quick. I hope you and your family are getting the support you need right now!
Loved this video. I think if I were to ever go into medicine (in my next life) it would be Emergency medicine. I watch the air ambulances over and over. Love your kitty. ❤️🙏
Hello Tyler I m also a final year med student I have just finished chemo (RCHOP) for DLBCL and waiting for the CT results. Hopefully for the remission. I have been dealing with much anxiety of not being able to carry on my career.(as to be a doc is my childhood dream) Many people say that blood cancer survivors can’t deal with sick people as we r prone to infections. Thanks for ur updates and u r my inspiration. Hope to resume my studies just like u. U r in my prayers.
Hi Tyler, congratulations on making it through the long haul with both your diagnosis and your medical degree. You have an amazing attitude that is helping me cope with my sons very recent diagnosis of Chronic Leukemia. I never could say the C word until now. I would avoid anything to do with it thinking if avoided it couldn't touch me. Oh well, that didn't work. Your channel has brought me out of despair and brought knowledge and hope. You have chosen the right occupation and will be such a blessing to any patient that is lucky enough to have you as their doctor. Thank you for your videos. I did have one thought... Did you have any family support? I am sure you must have. Also, I was wondering about vitamins/herbal support in addition to treatment? Best diet during treatment? My son just started 2 pills one is Dasatinib the other I am not sure. It is making him tired and causing stomach cramping. He has been on it about a week. He is 23. Thanks again, Carrieann from Northwest Connecticut U.S.A
Hey Tyler my son Ayush is also a cancer patient,he is PH + ALL type of blood cancer,he needs bone marrow transplant, he is 10 years old, please suggest me a good hospital in India as well as in foreign. And also how much money it will take, please Tyler help me we are so helpless now.We are from India.
Hi Kalyan. I unfortunately am not very familiar with Indian hospital services/care and so I cannot recommend that kind of advice unfortunately. However, discussion with your local doctor and the one that made the diagnosis is definitely a great place to start and seek the advice and care from your local team to understand more.
Did you enjoy the Vlog? If so let me know below as I'd love to make more Medical Student videos in the future :)

Thanks for sharing this Barb. SLE and RA would have been a lot to take on in one! Your comment means a lot, thanks Barb Helle :)

In which hospital U got the treatment ?
What are the cost?
How can we reach the hospital?
Kindly tell me the way forward.
What about the bit you run into me? ;)
I was unsure of adding people into the Vlog :P I'll have more courage to ask you for the next one ;)
