This was filmed in an old abandoned hospital from the early 1900's I so every scene is almost filmed in the same hospital building itself the apartments were filmed upstairs, outings, and several scenes in
love all the medical professionals reacting to Scrubs. doesn't matter what episode it is, doesn't matter if they're all saying "this part is SO true," and "this part is completely unrealistic". just hearing medics praise this show is awesome
Concerning the comments about the windows into the rooms, Scrubs was filmed in an abandoned hospital, so at the very least there was one hospital that was designed that way
The series actually shot in an abandoned hospital; they literally converted the whole thing for the entirety of their production; from the writers room/offices; dressing rooms, and sets. So on the one hand, those windows looking in on other room were _probablt_ part of the original architecture of the building (maybe?); even though it does seem questionable. But more to the point, JD & Turk's apartment, as well as Cox's apartment are converted hospital rooms.
I've been checking out different doctors react to scrubs since I found these videos exist, I have to say that I liked yours the most and I've watched quite a few doctors react It's my first time seeing one of your videos and I'm only 12 minutes in. I can't wait to watch your other reactions to scrubs, I really appreciate this video. I feel like I'm your reaction your very real about it and get the exaggerations in the episode spot on. Loved this!
What dr cox is right about is that you can't change someone who doesn't want to change. It's all good going out and educating people so that they know how they can change things, but ultimately it's up to them to decide that that is what they want to do and you can't help someone who doesn't want to help themself.
SCRUBS is my favourite comedy and one of my favorite shows, I'd love to watch you react to more of it. I've also heard it's the most medically accurate medical show, for whatever that's worth. And i love your Australian accent, which makes it a little more fun.
I love your desktop background! I'm an American studying medicine in Brisbane, and over the past few months I have really been missing the snow. In my experience, the dynamic between nurses and doctors is pretty similar between the US and Australia, but my sense is that longer hours/higher overall workload is required in the US, leading to increased overall stress on both sides. For the most part there's still plenty of team camaraderie but the increased stress levels on both sides makes maintaining that a bit harder.
For what it's worth the renal unit in Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin has those windows through the rooms. You could see one room to the next from the nurse station. But they had blinds too!
Another great video, I would love to see you react to 'This is going to hurt' and any medical shows, me and my husband love watching them all! We have just finished the good doctor season 1 which was fantastic! Hope you're having a great day!
Don't know how much you've seen Scrubs but what you mentioned about that surgeon helping you with your knots comes up with Turk teaching some new interns...of course he turned into a game but still.
They filmed the apartments in the hospitals basement (they one they used for filming). Dr. Cox' apartment looks sterile and impersonal because of it and it changes in later seasons, but keeps some of that look because it's literally a surgery-room.
I do like these video's. I do not know which part I like best. It was funny. I was studying to be a nurse many 0 years ago but came down very sick. I have SLE, RA and spinal stenosis among other programs. I ended up being the patient. Thank you for your videos and your time.
Tyler became the patient too. Such a hard slog but he documented the process. Love your strength and termination Tyler. Good luck Barb. I hope you can keep going. Goodness knows, we need more nurses.
@@carrie3982 I have been following Tyler for awhile. He is a strong young man. Thank you for your comment. I am 66 now. I am glad Tyler got better. Take care.

Interesting Point regarding smoking however, are you statistically more likely to quit because you have spoken to a gp or is this just a behaviour of someone who has made there mind up to quit? Not sure if the gp is nessecarily increasing likelihood of quitting or just a behaviour of those that want to quit.
It’s having the GP be involved in the whole process. I think it’s a professional keeping you accountable, but also a professional that can provide you tailored support. Ie medications, groups, other healthcare workers. It’s the involvement of someone that has access to the tools needed to help someone quit
A lot of what you discuss in your critique of this show is what I would also expect of example..law and order type shows. Some truth to them but largely unrealistic. Alway someone that goes above the hierarchy and also a romantic story line too. X
Very well put Carrie! Scrubs I find is the most accurate medical show, but still us some way to go before being completely! Hope you enjoyed the video 😊😊

What were your thoughts on this episode? And what would you like to see in the next video ? 😊😊
Thank you for not just doing the "big" episodes. I would watch you watch the whole series!
...well... the first 8 seasons.
Great video! More scrubs!
Thanks !

Jesus! 2 or 3 pack a DAY?! I consider myself a dedicated smoker, but I can't usually get through a pack in 2 days...sometime three.
Your cat is gorgeous. :)
Thanks!
Sounds like you got the good surgeons! The ones I work with all definitely fit the "god-complex" type haha.
HRCT is the wrong test. Standard CT chest with contrast would be more appropriate.

Talking to a gp did nothing for me
