    Thank you for this. I do chill solo smooth jazz sax with backing tracks for cocktail hours, house birthday parties, wedding proposals, retirement homes etc. However, pole-mounting my 30lb QSC CP12s are getting tough on my aging lower back. If I bought a pair of these Thump Gos, would I be able to bluetooth in my iPad backing tracks, then have both speakers play the tracks with no cord connection between them? (It seems they can't do XLR output to a sub or another speaker if bluetooth is coming in). Would it be loud enough for these lower-volume gigs?

    • @DjNinesworld

      Your welcome! Oh yes you definitely can Bluetooth them together without a cord!👍 And most definitely loud enough for your type of application…

    The words and praise for the T7 don’t seem to match the “but the rane one blows it out of the water” rating. Seems like the t7 should be few hundred more based on the comparable feature set. I don’t own either but it didn’t see or hear any major missing functionality the t7 doesn’t have compared to the rane aside from minor, usable, user experience differences.

    Good review & for the most part these speakers are my go to cabinets as they're very versatile . As already mentioned if you can afford the PS series well worth the money cause the louder you push the YXLs, especially at larger venues the frequencies get muddy. Channel 1 has a fixed 90hz high pass filter to remove the low rumble for either an instrument or a mic. Channel 3 both the 1/8" input & a Bluetooth device can be used simultaneously. The sub button only cuts off the low frequency below 100hz for the speaker itself & not through the link to a sub cabinet. Lastly the stereo/mono switch works in conjunction with the Link out jack. If you get them used from L&M buy the extra first year warranty. Thanks

    I rented 1 of these and now about to buy 2 of them.. even though it is battery powered... this 1 unit sounded better than BOTH of my Mackie SRM Flex array speakers... sadly it sounds like it pushes way more bass than both combined as well so that is why I'm buying 2 of these and getting rid of My Mackie Thump 212 speakers I recently just bought... way better sound in my opionion

    Thanks for the video, Ontario Brother. Have you heard the Yorkville YXL10P 10” powered speakers? I rented them recently and was blown away by their power. I’m used to Hi-Fi audio, not PA gear, and the intensity of the sound caught me by surprise. I’m currently renting an EXM Mobile 8, and while it’s impressive, I can’t believe how much less output it has than YXLs. I do LOVE the portability of the Mobile 8, so for personal use, small-medium indoor and outdoor church events, karaoke, and busking, I think two Mobile 8s would be sufficient. I suppose I could always add a battery powered sub if I need more power. I must say, I probably don’t need the kind of output the YXL10P produces, but it’d be nice to have the extra headroom and not run my gear close to or at its limit. Have you compared the YXL10P to the EXM Mobile 12? What’s your recommendation?

    • @DjNinesworld
      @DjNinesworld 22 дні тому

      The YXL10Ps are beasts most definitely but so are the mobile 8s. Remember while the yxls are plug in and the mobile 8s are battery powered they serve their own specific purposes. Its always better to have a little more headroom than not enough in my opinion. As a battery powered 12 inch speaker the exm mobile 12 does an amazing job to be honest.

      Having used the PS15s myself i would say it has more boom than the pro sub from what i can recall. If you don't necessarily need the battery powered option the PS15s is definitely the way to go!

    I just returned a rane one and ordered the Hercules inpulse t7 and too me the Hercules inpulse t7 is actually a rane one just in a different chassis 💯💯i actually like the tempo sliders better on the Hercules. You can get a mixer to make up the difference for the Hercules that the rane one has. The only other differences is the weight of the rane, the button that removes cusswords on the rane , the song search strip on the rane one , using 2 laptops and using turntables on the rane. Other than that most will dick ride the rane one

    Great review and love the gig videos as well. A few points : adding an extra speaker does not double the overall perceived sound level. It will add roughly 3 decibels in general, which translates to a "just" noticable increase to most people (altough better spread/dispersion/coverage of course). Also, be aware that the gain setting on the speaker does not mean much - meaning having it set at the midway point does not mean it's at half power. You can easily limit most speakers at the midway point with enough signal. Different speaker manufacturers set gain sensitivity differently, so one might require significantly less signal to reach a given output level vs another that might require way more. This is not indicative of maximum output capability, however. I currently have an NX8P with me for testing, so should be putting up a review on it shortly. I wanted to review the NX12Ps as well, but my dealer doesn't curently have any rental stock. One thing you should know, is that the current NX12Ps you tested are cheaper by 100$ compared to the NX55P- V2s they replaced. I was curious about this and got my answer as to WHY when I looked at the back of the NX8P. 3 words : MADE IN CHINA. Not impressed with the peak watts rating either, personally. Just a big number that almost looks absurd to those who actually know the reality of speaker specs these days...

    • @DjNinesworld
      @DjNinesworld 22 дні тому

      I know what you mean when it comes to spl & peak watts. Its like manufacturers are throwing large numbers so that consumers will be impressed but reality is more of us are aware of this now. Ya i've found that out too on the exm line are coming out of china aswell. I feel a little bamboozled and thinking everything is supposed to be made in canada

    • @alpoulin1
      @alpoulin1 22 дні тому

      @@DjNinesworld My newer Elite EF-12Ps (purchased in June) seem to have been made in Canada, but they did also cost me 1999$ each + taxes, so OUCH for my wallet! Overall performance, low frequency response, clarity and effective multiband limiting on these are phenomenal however, as they feature a 3'' neo compression driver and neodymium 3'' voice coil woofer, so premium transducers and parts all around. You will have trouble finding a louder, clearer and fatter sounding 12'' active IMO (it does require a bit of eq to sound its best though as the eq modes are not perfect). The cabinets are baltic birch however, so even though transducers are neodymium, they still come in at 60 lbs a piece. I decided to buy them while I am still able to move them (I am almost 50 but in great shape) and can still stand mount them on stands or over subs. The mid clarity on these for vocals is spectacular and it is only after much testing and comparing that I decided to invest in these. Looking forward to testing the NX12Ps eventually. Keep up the great work with your reviews. Great to have "real world" gig footage and opinions as well!

      Unless you know how the SPL rating was obtained, and until there is an actual standard that all speaker manufacturers must adhere to, I wouldn't pay too much attention to that OR the watts number - especially peak watts. These numbers can give you an idea, but generally do not represent what you will actually get in a real world applications, using music as a source and with the built-in limiters in place. The SPL spec most speaker manufacturers put in their advertisements was obtained by feeding the speaker one FREQUENCY with all limiting disabled and measured for a few milliseconds justs before the spekaer self-destructs. Not indicative of real world performance and not taking into account power compression that sets in on most speakers as the woofer voice coil heats up and causes impedance/output variations...

      @@DjNinesworld got the exm8. It's so much better than the eon compact. I get tons of sound in the bottom half of the volume knob and it has more to give. Never peaks while the won compact was always all the way up, and peaking, and never loud enough!! The mixer is also way quicker to get around and get a good sound from on the spot. Thanks for the advice

    Thanks for the review! I wonder if tweaking the audio controls in the JBL app would make a difference in sound quality? Also the battery swap feature is pretty important. Also for me, phantom power is a game changer as I use condenser studio mics in my ceremony setup. Also I think it makes a difference what you are using it for. If you're trying to crank it way up and you need over 112db of loudness then yes the Yorkville seems like the clear winner. But does it have 2 usb outputs and phantom power? For what I would use it for, a wedding ceremony in not sure I need it to be that loud, I'd probably be at like 20% volume.

    • @DjNinesworld
      @DjNinesworld 2 місяці тому

      So the JBL app is a 'must' use with the actual speaker. It unlocks so many great functions on the speaker. They are both great speakers but they have their specific uses. Busking, small parties, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours....etc Not recommended for larger events/occasions. I think tweaking on the app might make a slight difference on how it will sound but not the loudness.

    The intention of the T7 is not fight the One. It is obvious they play in different leagues. For the price I suppose both are good machines. Definitely, T7 points to begginers and low budget customers for domestic use and some small parties. The Rane for more professionals who perform in both public and at home.

      @@DJVIP-x2q No rental stock at my store at the moment, unfortunately... I did love the sound quality of the NX55P-2 they are replacing, but have always felt that they fell short in output (the limit light blinks pretty early) in spite of the SPL specs pretending otherwise. Hopefully the NX12Ps has more headroom - which is what the higher applied power would suggest. I have 3 sets of 12s I will be able to directly compare them to : Presonus Air12s, KX Audio KX12s and Yorkville Elite EF12s. I could also put them up against my Yamaha DXR15s. Hopefully my store gets some stock soon :)

      @@ElishaSoussan true true! But different gigs have different needs and different budgets. For me, in my late 59s, if I go out on a solo gig, there’s only so much gear that I personally can handle. On bigger jobs with bigger budgets and a multi person crew, you can more heavy duty gear and do a more involved tuning. So, it always depends.

      The multiband limiting on the Parasource and Elites is actually quite well implemented / transparent and extremely effective. My EF-12Ps are some of the best actives I've tested (with some EQ applied) - why I spent almost 5 grand on 'em... ;)
