Awesome review. Have watched several videos, yours is the most helpful and easy to understand. You covered everything I needed to know. This is perfect for my weekly trivia / dj gig. It's going to eliminate my mixer and a bunch of cables. Going to buy one right now. New Toy yay : )
I don't think there is a way to update the firmware. It would be through the app if it did wouldn't it? I will check again. In terms of volume im almost 90% sure that the Yorkville will take the Mackie. I guess im gonna have to do a comparison to really find out huh? lol.. Thanks for watching
@@DjNinesworld Waiting for your next video: Yorkville EXM8 vs Mackie Thump Go! Mackie is surprisingly loud and clean at max volume which was a little over 100dB.
Thank you for this review. I was really curious on how to recharge the battery. Thank you for covering that. I would definitely use this with a mini mixer especially in a live band rehearsal only sending vocals through it with an external mixer and effects.
Thanks for taking the time to do your overview. I think out of the 'big 3' the Mackie definitely is in 3rd place though. I think they missed a trick by not having any effects built in. The Bose S1 Pro and JBL EON COMPACT both do,and it could come in extremely handy. The app, inputs, outputs, grille , Bluetooth is something they all have, but I just think the JBL and Bose have too much in terms of build quality and pro features compared to the Mackie.
I have 2x BOSE S1 pro plus. You can speak directly into the speaker with a microphone an no feedback. I was thinking about getting one of the Mackies as a monitor🤔
I have 2 of these and sound quality is awesome. I ran the truth a bose sub 2 and wow! I haven't tried it but if you do something you need a little more and need reverb add this speaker to a bose s1 pro and use the mixer in the bose. For the money you can't beat it for a battery PA.
How many people could two of these speakers comfortably support in an outdoor party.I know it’s not an easy question.but a ruff estimate would be fine.I play progressive house.and drum and base?
Hello ! I didn’t have time to see everything, but I want to ask a question right away! Music on bluetooth and a guitar at the same time can sound? What would play under the backing tracks and sing into the microphone. I am a street musician, so now I play guitar / backing track / vocals through Jbl Eon One Compact. Will it work with Macki Trump Go? Or do you need an external mixer?
hello brother I have seen your reviews about the speakers and I need you to tell me which one to choose between the mackie go and the hk move go, I need it for a basketball field and give it a go only with music, I would appreciate it, thanks a greeting
For a basketball court? If i had the choice i would get at least 2 speakers but i would imagine that the hk move go would be slightly louder than the mackie thump go. Thanks for watching
Everything you said that it was lacking a real DJ could use a board to get those effects.... I don't think there's a real DJ out there that would plug straight into these speakers without a board with the exception of a wedding ceremony and at that point you would need all the effects that you say it's missing.
Hello, I unpacked a thump go today. I have a noise on the speaker. Could you please test the following: Turn on box (battery or mains, doesn't matter) gain 1 and gain 2 to left stop. Mainvolume to 12 o'clock, or to 3 o'clock. In the Mackie App move channel fader 1 towards 0dB. Now I hear a hissing noise, which keeps coming and going. It sounds like a noise gate is opening and closing. There is no cable or device connected via Bluetooth audio. I am only adjusting Channel 1 slowly towards 0dB. When I mute channel 1 it is gone. The problem does not occur with Channel 2. It also doesn't matter if channel 1 is set to mic or line. I would say, that is not in order ! Also, I could no longer connect via Bluetooth. I had to completely hard reset the box after turning it on and off.
Thanks for your review! I'm debating between the yorkvill and the mackie. The biggest complaint I have with the yorkville is that it doesn't allow battery swap. On a busy day I play about 12 hours. I play in an acoustic ensemble so I don't need super powerful speakers. I've been using two jbl eon compact and they've been good, could use a little more volume but when I bought them back then it was the best for what I needed. Which of the two do you recommend? I don't care about mixer. I just care about loud clear sound with bass. Is the yorkville significantly louder than the mackie to compromise on the battery swapping issue? Thanks!
The real cons of this speaker is the pass through clr line out. When you are playing music with bluethooth input the line out DOESN'T WORK! so you can't link to a subwoofer or anything else. I've tried many partybox speaker including jbl 110 and 310. They lack in loudness, good low end buth nothing else. They can't produce enough loudness for take a little party with 10 people. The problem with those spesker is they can't sound well if they are on the ground. They need a solid tripod if there are many people. I solved the problem with an expensive one speaker BUT really a game changer, LD system maui 5 GO, column array, 12. 9 kg, mids/highs reach 2 meters height. ua-cam.com/video/j7JEp07CcKs/v-deo.html
Yes i realized the pass through doesn't work if your using bluetooth after i made this video. Thats a big one! Thanks for pointing that out. That should be on my video too. LD system maui 5 go is a beast!
@@DjNinesworld it lacks in treble over 12 khz, it's quite normal for fullrange driver but for its cost I was expecting a bit more clarity. I spent 30 minutes for add a cheap 25mm dome tweeter with a 3.3 uF cap under the last woofer , it is a massive improvement for crisp Trasparent highs. The real benefit is to have the sound starting from 2 meters height so you can have even 30 people in front of the speaker but the sound dispersion remains the same
The unit comes with some charge but not fully so i would advise you to definitely charge it before you use it at a gig or in a live situation. It is battery powered and it takes the standard iec cable to charge it into the wall. Let me know if you have any more questions
I built my own that runs on car jump starter capacitor and 400watt car amp. I can charge it fully in 3 minuets and will run for about an hour and if my car battery dies I can jump my car😆
This amp has NO REVERB on the Mic channel! IT IS WORTHLESS! Good sounding little battery amp for keyboard only maybe, but with NO REVERB on the Mic channel, well that sucks! The way better option is the Roland Street Cube with, yes, can you imagine, REVERB!

How this compares to yorkville exm8 and boss s1? I say the yorkville exm8 wins all in output and bass but as clean high i say bose s1?
200 watts peak equates as 100 watts constant; this may work for a ceremony or cocktail hour for about 30- 40 people.
