I review the new OO9 loco from Bachmann USA and a couple of 3D print items are put together. The Madram Lister is a great 3D print available free from Thingiverse to print at home. The quarry coach from Minibuilds is a resin kit and is very high quality, as were their Clayton battery locos seen last vid. Slight correction: I had a brain fart and said that the US version of OO9 was HOn3 but it i...

Correction - the Claytons are battery locos not diesel! Part two of my focus on this railway. I have done a lot of work on it recently so I though an update was in order! Some videos were taken during the scenic part of the update to the railway so some details are not depicted on all clips. I have tried to keep LED flickering to a minimal but there is a tiny bit of it on the video. This layout...

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I wanted to say that you are right about Talyllyn’s scale. All of the Bachmann Thomas range is actually scaled to OO, but they are labeled as HO to keep it familiar to the American market. Great video!
@@toad6565 Thanks so much! Nice to have confirmation of that.
The slow running teddy bear is awesome
@@Steve-tq6yc Thanks Steve. That one is just running on DC on the upper line as well. The Gaugemaster is set to max.
Very very cool ...
@@Squirel Thank you!
Which stay alive did you choose. Also what type of coach lighting to you use?
@@djburland It was a Lais stay alive. It's a tiny four capacitor unit with a circuit on top. The video on the channel 'This Way Works' shows how to fit it. He soldered it directly to the circuit board but I had to used a replacement. The light bars were by Digikeijs.
Pretty sure I’ve found you on Google Earth! The Gwili gives it away but I’d never reveal you without permission - your video’s are always an enjoyable watch for this armchair railway builder…
@@andrewbizley5848 Thanks very much Andrew!
The sound certainly helps bring your layout to life Ian, and the scenics are amazing. It's a great looking layout. At the moment we're working on a Christmas scene on Dylington, so hopefully Dylan will get a video done in time for Christmas...cheers James 🙂👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY Thanks a lot James!
Having sound really adds a whole new dimension to the layout. My hobby is computer flight simulation and sounds in that really do take away or add realism. Thanks for the video.
@@Squirel Thanks for watching!
Beautiful layout, the detail and weathering is top notch
@@garycousino Thanks so much!
Sorry for your loss. Remember the good times together which I'm sure is what your friend would want. Thank you for sharing your fabulous modelling creations! Best wishes to you 😊

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Life can be a bitch at times and sadly, as we get older, it happens more often. I'm so glad that you have your hobby to immerse yourself in to ease the grief. I love watching this layout. It is so relaxing to just sit and watch life go by in this village. It must be even better in person. Good wishes to you and Sarah, take care of each other.

I have a green one on pre order, I guess will be here soon. Will have to find crew for it. Which crew did you use? Nice video. Sorry to hear about your friend. I met you at the Swansea modellers railway group show last couple years 👍🏼
@@nickclay9401 Thanks very much. I think one is a Bachmann figure but the other one I'm not sure about. These days it is better to get 3D printed ones and paint them yourself as I did with the other figures.

Weyland, great to see the magnificent work you have done and to meet you at the Bronwydd sale earlier in the month. The shot from behind Jones the steam is superb, Phil

Nice update. Time is passing quickly - while you have lit the fire for heat, we have had the air con on to cool off already. Nice to see the train operating, especially with the first class coach out. Keep well.
@@Squirel Thank you! Each year seems to go by in a flash nowadays. Can't keep up with it.
Still no leaf blower. Have you given any thought to mounting a leaf rake to your equipment? How about a small two axle car with a horizontal motorized rotating brush? I guess you could just use your broom and rake. Cheers.
@@mikesimmons8762 I think I should stick with the manual brush method as anything else could end in tears. It only takes ten mins to do.
Cracking video. I've got a similar facing point issue on the FeckHallBahn's LGB points; I think you may have helped me find out what's happening!!

Amazing the difference in the amount of leaves on the ground a few weeks apart. Also something to do to keep you occupied.
@@xr4icossie Indeed mate! Never a dull moment.
I never thought I'd hear the name Tsugawa Yokou here. What a great model! Amazing!
Haha - nor me, though I did use one of their chassis years ago for a 3d print n gauge pug. Thank you!
Very good too. You mentioned the possibility of putting a resistor inside the 009 Clayton; what effect would that have please? Best wishes, Dudley
Thanks Dudley! They are low voltage motors so would probably help with slow running.
Fascinating!!! Outstanding craftsmanship and artistry, sir!! Very impressive! 😯
Thank you so much John!
Incredibly detailed work Ian, everything is top class yet so modestly presented. Wonderful modelling.
Thanks so much mate! Means a lot coming from you!
You are an amazing artist with your layouts, and with running stock AND engines (locos). You have a nice assortment of Locos now! Very very impressive model railroader!!

That's a great video, Ian. Dylan has really enjoyed watching it. He likes the recent additions to your fleet... Cheers James 🙂👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY That's great thanks!
Hello! I hope it's not too much but where did you buy or find your N° 2 Elizabeth, and can you tell me her class? I am planning on making a railway in my backyard, and since the route won't be very long, I was interested in buying one to provide express and freight services over short and medium distances
Hi, it was purchased from the person who built it. It is built to the Sweet William design. The best thing to do is to look out for used live steam listings on various online places but beware of anyone asking for money upfront.
Great videos - always entertaining. BTW do you recall where you got the handrails for Hefty from please?
@@Stroudley-terrier Thank you! They were wardrobe railings from The Range!
@@Elvinley Thank you again - I've just bought two!
@@Stroudley-terrier No problem!
Loved the sound effects (as well as everything else). I wondered if you could do a video covering more detail of how to do that both from the software and hardware you use. I've decided against DCC but do like sound effects so other ways of achieving ambient sounds are of interest.
@@IanHenderson-g9i Thanks so much! I will bear that in mind for a future vid.
It kind of reminds me of that children's programme that used to run on BBC television for many years - "In the night garden".
@@JohnResalb Haha! Wasn't that with something called Iggle Piggle or something like that?
@@Elvinley I might be a big sensation if you dress up as iggle piggle when driving the train.
Super video and layout - puts my Christmas 009 layout to shame - esp love the sounds
@@CastleHillLightRailway Thanks so much!!
Nicely done. Quite a "little" contrast from Ivy Railway and Elizabeth.
@@mikesimmons8762 Thanks Mike!
How about a leaf blower? Have you started on a snow plow for winter? The ambient temperature has finally dropped below 100 degrees here in the Arizona USA desert. We can start outdoor train running again. Cheers.
@@mikesimmons8762 We don't get much snow here and my leaf blower is mains operated and not that effective! Probably easier just to brush it away.
Very clever mix of the dummy Auhagen track and Busch track
@@JanHenk-k1b Thank you. Great that you noticed that! It is a cheap way to get a nice effect.
Now if I turned up at the Halt and flagged you down would you stop? On the other hand if I turned up at the Halt how long would I have to wait? Four minutes here sounds more like a bus driver.
@@juliansadler6263 It could be anything from a minute to a week. I would stop though.
Great video, Ian. You've made my grandson's day. He really likes Lynnbach. It's one of his favourite layouts, he loves the details you've added, and it's inspired him to do somemore work to his this afternoon. Hopefully he'll be able to post an update of it on his channel soon. We've really enjoyed watching this update ...cheers James 🙂👍
Thanks James! The other day I was showing my mate Keith one of his vids showing the great work he did on those houses for his railway.
@Elvinley Thank you, he'll be pleased you like them. I must admit that he's doing really well with it. He's done everything himself on the layout, except build the baseboard. He's been invited to take part in a lecture with Paul Lunn (who writes track plan designs for Hornby Magazine) at Portland College in Mansfield on the 26th of October. He's taking his layout with him to talk about it. It's slow progress for him at the moment due to school, but half term is approaching. Which should mean more work done and an update 🙂👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAYThat's brilliant! I have seen Paul's plans and they are excellent.
@Elvinley yes Paul does some great plan designs. I forgot to mention it's a 009 guage society exhibition, so there'll be lots there to inspire Dylan. So I'm sure he'll be keen to get done to his layout once he gets back home 🙂👍
Superb layout Ian !!!
Thank you mate!
Enchanting! Beautifully done Ian!
@@StanFerris Cheers Stan!
Thank you for this amazing video. I really like these models. The few times I have seen model layouts like this "in the flesh" I have been most astounded by the detail in the background. The trains themselves are great but it is the background that brings the whole scene to life. My imagination runs wild with what I see and thinking "what happens next". I may sound like a nutter but that's the pleasure I get from them.
@@Squirel No that's great! That is what is aimed at really when you build a layout. You want it to look like it is going somewhere and doing something other than what is seen. It is always a compromise in a small space so imagination is required! Thanks for commenting!
This is incredible, what a fine engine, matched only by the incredible architecture supporting the rails. This is one of the masterpieces.
